Happy anniversary Rawb! Enjoy yourself today :)
Happy Anniversary!
Happy Anniversary and thank you for all your hard work.
Thank you to the rest of the Daz guys too.
Going up to sometimes a minute or more here, for each and every click on a page. I just tried to buy today's PC+ item; eventually got it, but I can't download through the Product Library page like I always do because the link to the actual downloads never resolves.
Whups, hold on, it just did. Now I'm waiting for some sort of response to clicking the blue "Download" button.
I think I'm going to need persuading to continue buying stuff until this is all fixed — right now the entire DAZ site is hovering on the edge of total unusability. Even the forums are getting pretty bad, it took two tries just to write up this post.
I need a bit of reassurance from DAZ people @DAZ_Rawb when your anniversary is over if you could let us know please.......can we get reassurances that while the store is going so berserk..that the security itself hasn't been affected? I'm a bit concerned about purchasing stuff via my CC while all this is going on.
LOL re the missing images thing..... today's email newsletter just came through,...with NO IMAGES.
Security hasn't been impacted. The issue is with the media storage for things like the site images and gallery images. We're transfering from one system to another, and due to the sheer size of files we have on the server, its slow going. We pointed over to the new system earlier today, and was hoping the sync between the system on the changes that happened when we started the copy to now (so since early last week) would be done before the cached cleared out automatically for the new sales to go live, however, it didn't finish in time. Its still churning along, its just taking longer than anticipated. This, also, unfortunately is impacting the site performance as a whole because when the backend media storage gets bogged down, it slows down all page requests which then creates a bit of a domino effect of slower page loads lead to more page loads in the queue which leads to even slower page loads, etc.
We're on the final steps though of getting this all sorted away, so we will return to normal functioning site soon, with the added bonus that our network throughput on the delivery of content to all you guys has increased dramatically.
The sales pages are still showing yesterday's sale and not showing any of the new releases.
yes. there's a little hiccup in the git along right now. Hopefully, they'll finish everything tonight.
You can still see what is new by clicking on the blank spaces in the newsletter. I found that very helpful.
Some very nice stuff is out today!!
I wasn't able to manually download Absolution and Vampyres Bane from my product library. File Does Not Exist error for DS, PS, and Templates on these items.
Still weird. Install manager shows one new item where I have bought nine.
...ugh, today was a nightmare couldn't get on the forums or store site for most of the day without getting a "site down" or "site unavailable" error message. Missed out on Tuesday's specials as I had an event to attend and didn't get home until an hour after midnight Daz time.
...and the stupid spell check as you go isn't working again so excuse any typos.
Thanks DAZ_Jon. Security was my biggest worry so glad to know it's not affected.
hmm, interesting store page....... stil not working nicely....
"Advanced Shaders 1.5" (sku:34359) pricing is screwed. It says "-Infinity%" Free(crossed out) $4.00 and there's no "Favorite(heart)" button nor "Add to cart" button. Also, I have Stonemason's "Sci-Fi Kit 2016" in by cart so shouldn't the price be $3.00 or less?
Looks like "Props Pack - Morphing Grassy Outcropping" (sku:28533) has a similar problem. It says "-Infinity%" for cost. I didn't notice the problem when I added it to my cart last night. It does show the "Favoriate" button and says "IN CART" (as it should).
Given that Advanced Shaders is showing the wrong final price how certain can we be that the discounts are applying correctly in general?
- Eric
These are the remaining things in my 4402 download library which won't DL.
Firefighter Uniform for Geneis 3 Males won't download, however version for Gen 2 males did.
Sy the Blue Ones
Underwater Explorer Poses
The Pod Extras
The Pod Undergear
Magical Guy poses for Kenji 7
The filing room
super Bodysuit for Genesis 3 females
So yesterday for a few hours i had two shopping carts on my account, each in a separate tab and both with different items( hit refresh several times on both, nothing happened). After adding the others to one cart I paid for everything, but the items were still in my other cart even after refreshing it several times.
Weird.
And we're back! Site was down for at least an hour for me. Possibly related to the power outage that hit Salt Lake City for about the same time frame?
Wishing you and yours a very happy anniversary sir. Thanks for the updates . Go enjoy yourself.
Did hit a huge bump in the road this AM with the site giving me cloudfar issues steming from your main area as mine in San Jose was not giving me any errors. Now I'm back in so hopefully they got it somewhat working again... the store was a holy mess so I'll try that next to see if I can the swirlies or missing images or blank product pages (yea, got to one product, all the place holders were there but no images)....
Can you tell us what set this off? That's one piece of the puzzle I don't know about. Were you guys hacked or something? I remember Hivewires huge hack last year, no fun for anyone trying to get things up and running again but we did get new forum software which I think is the BEST forum software I've ever used, bar none!
No hack, just the clustered storage system went all multiple-personality on us during an upgrade and getting all of the storage nodes back in sync with as many (and as large) files as we have is giving the system fits.
It looks like the store is back, Daz Connect should be working (minus a product here or there), and DIM seems to be failing on a few downloads while working on a bunch more. The team and I are still working on it, but it is now clean up work instead of massive data moving projects.
I believe they've confirmed that this was unintended side effects of upgrades and not the result of hacking. I do hope that they would inform us if there ever is a hack that takes place, but I am pretty sure that they've made it clear enough that the problems are related to other things this go around.
Ah, multiple personalities.. no fun. YIKES actually.
Yea, the store for me is still very wonky. So I'll hold off on anything there.
Oh, I did get my DIM's all downloaded last night before the black out on my end this AM so happy about that finally!
I hear ya. I was very displeased about what happened to the Hive but was glad to know exactly what happened. Chris and the gang were very transparent about that and rather than allot of story telling folks were stepping up with help and allot of understanding. Too bad real world politics were not like that! lol
well, store page indeed still very wonky...
Looks like the cache picked up the server right as it was coming back online but before it was fully ready to come back online. I just did a full cache flush on cloudflare, so as that propagates out to your edge node you should pick up a nicely working version of the site.
This is a zoomed out view of the store from where I'm sitting in Redwood City, CA with my cloudfare nod being in San Jose...
Ok, store page loaded fine just now.... but now the gallery is troublesome, 1st page loads okay, 2nd page just 2 images.....
Might have to beat back your browser's cache to get the latest view.
Same issues with me again today. Multiple images missing on every page. Just stacks of nothing and some images here and there.
If I was the head of marketing at Daz, I'd give everyone a $10 gift certificate for all this. It wouldn't break Daz and it's more convenient than having to refund many people who could potentially submit tickets for small errors (my last order was maybe $2.00-$4.00 off from the PA featured sale part not working correctly, I haven't done the complete math but things were off by maybe 70 cents or so, but it adds up. )
So hint, hint, I think it would be a great gesture of good will to give customers a $10 GC for all the pain this has been
