Quick question: Will TerraDome 3 be able to utilize grey scale heght map DEMs such as are available fron USGS?

(Andrew) I've created add-ons for all three versions of TerraDome. And I have to say, this new version has some stonkingly powerful stuff going on. And since I'm not that familiar with DS yet, it's great to get some of these results. And things are looking very promising for HD morphs on both the A and B zones. Granted, that creates a staggering amount of geometry, but DS does seem to handle huge geometry counts really well. As well as HD morphs, there's also a number of other fun and funky stuff to come.

I am getting a new computer with 6th Generation Intel® Core™ i7 processor 16 GB memory 1 TB hard drive NVIDIA® GeForce® GT 730 2GB DDR3 will this work with terra dome 2 fine?
Just watched Colm's video. HOOOOOOOOLY MOOOOOOOLY!!! I can see we'll be eating baked beans on toast for a week cos I'll be getting this and grocery shopping be damned!!!!
Sigh. I was so hoping that this would hit today. As it is, it looks like it will come out while I'm in Australia for the next two weeks, and internet access from hotels in Oz is usually both slow and crazy expensive. It's at times like this that I wish DAZ had a Pre-buy option like Amazon.
Depending on where you are in Oz, hit a hot spot like McDonalds or a cafe perhaps. Better than the hotels.

I wasn't expecting to buy VWD, but then that happened. Things are going to be tight after TD3... then, of course, LAMH 2 will appear and I'll have to scrape up SOMETHING...

The video looks amazing! I bet this comes out during the PA sale. I'm looking forward to seeing it launched. I doubt I can afford it, but it will be fun seeing everyone's renders with it and I can live vicariously! heheh
TerraLuna3 will be usable for night AND day this time, because of the genius of Traveler. :)
Ah well since I don't use Iray at all another product that will not see my cart.. A shame really but such is life..

Cheers that would be great thank you, I have been wanting something like this for Studio since I got Terradome 1 for Poser years ago.. But with the main talk about it being based mainly around Iray with the only mention of 3DL being that it sort of might work.. It does not fill me with confidence to say the least, it is getting harder and harder to get content that has 3DL support now.. :(

Honestly it really hurts the quality of your video when um is every second word used. Writing a script and perhaps also having a shorter (like 1-2min instead of 20) video to give people an at a glance of the features might help in future.
That said it looks like a really interesting product and I'd say today's the day to buy it considering the PA sale discount.
Bought! I couldn't tell if any of the TD2 items would work in TD3, so I didn't buy the extra sky sets just in case I had to come back and hit the cat again, but otherwise the whole thing is mine now! Bwa ha ha ha ha! .

I saw this at RDNA, and was interested, but not that much... It's in my basket now though. I'm having the usual cool down moment. If I can wait.
Okay! Now. What, if any of the TerraDome products in the megaFastGrab sale will work with TD3 in Studio? Any of them?

@Cybersox13 TerraDome2 is for Poser only, and will not work in DazStudio. To transfer TerraDome to DS, Traveler and Colm had to completely re-build it from the ground up. So TerraDome3 (and add-ons) is for Studio only and will not work in Poser. :)
In my cart, just waiting for things to settle down and more info about what might work from the FG sale. I'm guessing props will work, but probably not the morphing landscapes or skies and stuff.
What I thought. Props and figures in FG, but none of the previous TD stuff works. Makes for more money for the new stuff!
Terradome 3 has now hit the store, as part of the PA sale. A large number of what I assume are TD2 add-ons are also on sale if you buy them with it (or other promoted products).
A question I haven't seen answered is which TD2 add-ons, if any, will work with TD3. If, for example, TD2 morphs could be applied in TD3, that would make today's sale a lot more compelling. I wouldn't hold out much hope for skies or shaders, but morphs seem like they might at least be a possibility.
No, from what MortemVetus said, none of the previous TD products will work with TD3 as TD3 was a complete rebuild for DS.
If it actually loads on the card, it will struggle and probably struggle quite a lot. The rest of the system is not too bad; but 32GB of RAM would be better.
