Cool LAMH renders

Oso3DOso3D Posts: 15,090

This is such a fun product, I think it deserves it's own render pic thread.

3DL, Iray... heck, Reality or Octane or whatever else you manage to do with it welcome.

Here's a 3DL render using the LAMH preset from Rawart's fun Ape World bundle.

I have a thing for not-quite humans like that... I have cat world regenesis, ape world, turtle, various reptiles, raven, etc.

I hesitate to call myself a furry because I don't share cultural 'stuff' with most furries, but hey.

I've just bought the Husky add-on for Wolf 2.0 plus Jack Tomalin's new Balneae set.  Expect renders this weekend.

    Cheers,

    Alex.

  • I'll share one I did about a year ago for one of the monthly contests here at Daz. I used the Sasquach with LAMH presets and a bit of tweaking here and there. I didn't win but working on this and suggestions I got helped me learn a lot.

I really like how many of Rawart's figures have LAMH settings.

    Here's another...

One for the thread from my gallery, finished today. Lamh 1.6.0.0 and Ape World 2 Chimpanzee with some very minor kit bashing.

Okay, so what is that and does the LAMH preset come with it?  I can't find anything that matches your image which is awesomely cool, Will!

I just saw this in the gallery and left a comment.  Very nice image!  I was looking through my HD thinking I had done more renders with LAMH presets, but I guess the only ones I've done lately are my wolves which I've shared elsewhere.  I'm going to have to set something up to render because it's ridiculous to think I have all of these great animals and haven't rendered very many of them.  In fact, I had one set up for the buffalo and never got around to finishing him with a final render.  I'll have to see what I can do to rectify that.

I like that you started this thread, Will!  I hope to see many great LAMH renders!

Yeah, I love that dragon. Mind you, I often prefer to use one of the standard dragon skins, but hey.

Thanks, Kendall.  Huh, I have that dragon, too.  I'll have to look at it more closely.  I didn't think it had a no horns morph.  Will, Your image reminds me a little bit like that character in the NeverEnding Story, only he was a little furrier.  And, yet another great creature I haven't rendered yet.  I don't know why I keep getting these great creatures and, yet, now that I know all of these cool things to do with LAMH, I never get around to actually rendering anything.  I do all of these great experiments and no final renders.  Well, nothing with fur anyway.

The horns is an attachment, I think. Depends on how you load it?

Thanks. =) I know what you mean, I however, so far, only have a few animals that have the Lamh presets.....and I haven't used them yet. Got the Apes out of Fast grab the other day and had been wanting them for another project, but got side tracked with Lamh, hehe.

In RPGs I'd sometimes use the alias Tim Williams. Heh.

(I've made some Tim Williams on MMOs)

Simple render of the beaver I picked up today. Fur always represents its own unique challenges for NPR (at least for me), but I'm liking how these early renders came out - awesome model!

Forgive my noob question, but what is "LAMH"?

    Hey Diva -

    Look At My Hair:

    http://www.daz3d.com/look-at-my-hair

It's an awesome hair plugin - highly recommended. Alessandro has many critters available in his catalog which utilize LAMH presets. The player is free (so you can render the critters), but the full version of the plugin is necessary to create/style your own hair & fur.

Ahhhh Ok, I think I asked that before. Now I feel dumb. lol Thanks, Greg! :)

I got the free plug in for LAMH and tried to use it but dang it made my renders slow to a CRAWL. lol

    These are AMAZING!

3DL or Iray? Artistic feel creted in render or post (like filter forge)?

    AMAZING renders, everyone!

There's something about good hair that really punches up the appeal of a render.

Thanks for invoking memories of a movie I saw when I was 10 years old! Absolutely awesome render! (my favorite of yours)

I just might have to go buy this dragon now . . .

You were 10?  Now, I'm feeling old!  I was 20 when that came out.  Great movie, though!  And, yeah, I agree, I think this has to be my favorite of render of all the ones I've seen of Will's stuff.

It's one of my favorite renders, too, for several reasons. I definitely had the dragon Falcor in mind, plus happy I captured the emotion of the rider. Also, one thing I really like about Iray canvasses is the dynamic range, which makes balancing bright skies and foreground much easier. (Realistic skies tend to blow out horribly)

Now if I was really mean I'd do a render of Artax on the swamp...
