Nice, Fishtales. I know you said 'well, the wolf looks a bit mangy' but I thought it looked very lifelike and chaotic.
WillowRaven: Yeah, 3DL is nice. One thing I like about it is that it naturally makes very sharp images, which gives me room to blur/adjust it. I like to render it double or quadruple size, convert it to 16 bit, shrink it, then adjust tone and blur and so on.
I originally intended to do it in Iray, actually, but Fern Lake is an environment made with clones, not instances; there's no way it will run on my GPU. I could try to use my procedural shaders (and I might still try that), but redoing the textures on several dozen items... ugh.
@Fishtales Very nice. I think the fur looks very realistic. Nice job! Even the bat looks great.
I thought I would post one of my first renders with an LAMH critter in it. The raccoon was one of the first of AM's critters I bought and I fell in love with his work right then. I started collecting his animals ever since. I had done an earlier image, but didn't' like how I did the lighting. After learning more about lighting in 3Delight, I revisited this image because I liked it so well. I redid the lighting and I think it turned out really well considering I still didn't know that much about what I was doing back then. So, this is the much better relit scene. It is still one of my favorite images of mine. Rendered in 3Delight.
Great image, it's really lovely, thanks for posting it. If I may, I'd like to add it to our LAMH Facebook page with your credits.
The fur came out so wonderfully soft, great job!
Sure, you have my permission. I'm honored! You can credit either Knittingmommy (preferred) or Cathy Webber or both. It's completely up to you. You can ignore the Facebook link thingy if it suggests my username. I'm rarely on Facebook, but I have an account mostly to keep up with family and let them know what I'm up to sometimes.
That is something else KM. Wow. Nicely done.
I really need to work with LAMH more, I know I have at least a few animals/creatures with presets even if I can't make a damn hairstyle for myself.
Thanks, @evilded777. I love working with it. I'm making my first preset and it's going okay so far. Up to now, I've mostly just worked with AM's presets on his animals or presets others did. I like going in adjusting the fur after posing. It makes it more mine somehow. :) You can learn a lot about styling, too, by playing with the presets and if you goof up, you just reload the preset! If you ever need any help, just holler!
Just posted it: https://www.facebook.com/LookAtMyHair I'm sure visitors will love it!
I took a look. You just made my day! Thanks!
I was playing with the Skunk by AM the last few days. I hadn't rendered him yet even though I've had him for quite awhile. Getting the atmosphere just right was a little tricky, but I think I pulled it off. I love how he turned out. Rendered in Iray.
Cutie skunk!
He is indeed! I can't believe I had him all this time and hadn't rendered him yet.
Great render again!
Thanks, AM! :)
