Thought I would drop in with a juicy little bit of info. As most of you know the Star Trek Bridge sets we all know and love are getting updated to work in Studio and getting iray shaders.

Just spotted the new ones up at Renderosity. I want more $$$ so I can spend it...

Will this updating cover just the bridges, or all the "Trek-like" sets, including Engineering, Shuttlebays, etc? I don't have all of them (yet; see above about $$$ and lack thereof) but I've got most of the earlier ones.

All of the Star Trek and Star Wars sets currently built and all Trek sets built in the future will be Studio compatable and have iray shaders. Hope this helps you out.

Well I've been accused by a few people, that my renders tend to have a common theme.  Plants and water.  Well lets mix it up!  What Star Trek Bridge ever had plants on it?

"Come to the Botanical Garden ship where you can buy our special blend of Washington gown plant or acquire the Vulcan Valium, or hell that's not a Nacelle..it's an over sized Distillery! Come get your Everclear Romulan Ale! Can’t come to us?  We deliver!

And yes....why can't mermaids swim on air?  Expect that from a future graphic novel from me...when I find the time!

(Green is not one of the proposed colours of the pending Yamato Studio project.)

Plants and water themed? I thought your images always had women in them... LOL

Is there another gender for sale here at Daz?  I just looked and saw some anomoly.   Top 8 sales 'cubes'.  had 6 women and some topless thing....not sure what that was they were selling.  :-)

(won't buy it anyway....will wait a year due to encryption.)

So...about Star Trek (CBS), Has anyone heard any difinitive word on castings for who's in? Uniforms leaks,   set leaks, I know the season time frame.

    And after the Friendly letters to Star Trek Horizons and Continues (we all know if Horizon recieved one they had to have one too) to shut down, have they since resumed?  No assumptions. Have they started back up? Reason I ask;

That most of what the case was with Axinar had me bothered was how people were reading opinions and blasting reread opinions. Being a retired from JAG, I read the court papers....Paramount and CBS need to fire their lawyers. They really didn't understand what they were defending.  I'm just glad it's over...now Axinar can resume and we can see a Star Trek that's how it's meant to be!

Don't know if CBS is pulling out of the suit, just that Paramount was talking about it. I don't think Continues or Phase II ever got a cease and desist like the others.

No leaks yet, though the rumor mill is circulating that Nathan Fillion might be the next Captain. Of course, we all know what happens to the truth in a rumor mill (it gets ground into a fine powder). cheeky

It is CBS, so I expect they'll try to keep as tight a lid on it as they can, at least until after Star Trek Beyond is released.

I could handle haveing him as captain again!  he's free...the network did cancel Castle at just the right time!

It's been a while I am trying out some stuff with IRAY. Working on some modifications on some sets for use in my story. Redid XT Bridge and working on the Next Gen Engine Room for a unique look

I like the blue and brown combo...little shiny...but it's a good start if you're going to follow the toon effect you have with your icon.

I did start some work on those sets but found they needed some lights seperated and some textures, wall, doors, and some other changes made.  the project was shelved for later work.

Paramount hasn't actually dropped the lawsuit and CBS has been mum on it so they have to continue following court proceedings. If they hadn't filed that when they did they'd have missed the deadline.

Interesting look to them. Are you going for a non-carpeted look for the flooring?  I've kind of done that but I used a bump map to give it that kind of raised bumped flooring for more of a grip to the surface.

I don't know how excited I am about this... Because this show will be the flagship program for a new style of pay network, I'm afraid the creators will play it very, very safe and go with a concept that's very formulaic and designed to appeal to the teenaged boys that they think are their core audience -- a bland, look-at-our-shiney-CGI, run and jump on Planet X sort of show with a busty female alien who takes lots of on-screen baths.

Oh, you mean like Kirk and the old series!

Yeah, I used the industrial floor shader. Thought it would give it a different look. I have nothing against carpeting on a starship but I always thought the sections that had more use would have something a little different

Okay, I'm going off topic for a bit. Sorry about this. I've been trying to get Dyson installed in my Poser Pro 11. The files are where they're supposed to be, but nothing's showing up in Poser. Anyone got time help me out?

Do you mean not showing up in the Python scripts menu, or product you installed aren't showing up in the Library, or are they in the Library but nothing is in the scene when you load them?

The scripts are not showing up.I go to the script drop down menu and there is no sign of any Dyson script at all.

How did youinstall them, DIM or standalone installer?  Doe the bit-depth match the Poser 11 version?

I used the stand alone I got here at Daz. I installed it into the Poser 2014 folder located in the Smith Micro Program files. I've looked all the way down the drop down menu and I'm not seeing anything connected to Dyson. I'm running the 64 bit Windows 10 and I used the 64 bit installer.

Os the problem with PP2014 or Poser 11?

  • mdbruffymdbruffy Posts: 2,345
    edited May 2016

I think I see part of the problem. I have the files for both Poser 11 and Poser Pro 2014. PII is supposed to be the basic for 2014. BUT the screen says Smith Micro Poser Pro. The opening screen says Poser Pro 11.So there's about 4 different names going here. I think I need to go back an re-install things into the Poser 11 file.

That got it. The files had to go in the Poser 11 folderm not the supposedly upgraded Poser pro 2014.

Thanks for helping me figure this out.
