Ok. Well this thread has been rather informative. Cheers
Love your sets!
Lol Thanks Hun. I wasn't fishing for compliments (although I'll take one any day LOL). It just really is informative to know what customers are looking for in certain genres. I'm constantly striving to improve and bring more to my products. Having the lists of other's favorite PA's helps me to check out their work and see what they're doing that I'm not and to see where I can get better. Cheers
We should have a "What do you look for when you buy things" type thread~ Obviously sales feedback is the only concrete proof of sales PAs can have, and it isn't worth it for them to take requests most of the time, but there may be reasons their items are or aren't selling that they aren't aware of that they could get ideas from something like that.
I like that idea very much Ix!
I know there was one already for men's clothing, and I seem to recall there was a thread for props/sets. But it may have been awhile.
So many good products in the store, I am always extremely tempted by anything released by Stonemason, Jack Tomalin, Thorne, Lady Littlefox, Fabiana, Aery Soul, Goldtassel, AprilYsh, Mallenlane :) Other than that if its well crafted and not run of the mill it will catch my eye.
The latest Jaws got me, I have not yet purchased it, but wishlisted it for payday. Growing up with TV shows like Street Sharks and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Biker Mice from Mars, and the Gargoyles cartoons, Rawart's works are reminiscent of these characters for me, plus the great B-grade TV Movie, Peter Benchley's Creature, were among my favourite films of the 90s.
Other artists I support here are SickleYield, whose products are always quality, supported with helpful feedback, and complete with a great many morphs and pose options.
Mec4D, superior morphs and quality every time.
Stonemason, for the castles, and citadels, ruins and villages. Great for sci fi, romance novel work, and for the forests which hit the cart as soon as they launched.
i13, while the majority of items hit the cart, it's the poses that make it most of the time. Would like to see a little more real-world variety in posing though for both Male and Females, doing every day normal stuff, there are already way too many 'everyday' poses of people in repose, like they are about to do a photoshoot. Suggest ablutions, washing dishes, sorting sock drawers, vacuuming, mechanic work on the car (both M/F), laying plates on a table, couples romance poses where there are truly tender gestures, cuddling, kissing, and farewell poses would be appreciated.
Aeon Soul, I'd buy even more of their stuff if they had male sci fi clothing to accompany their female gear. AutoFit helps, but is not always accurate. A men's and women's duo kit would be great!
Alessandro_AM, for the animals!
Andrey_Pestryakov, for the Nature swamps!
Kibaretto, because Space is awesome, and their sci fi shuttles/ships are great.
But overall I will support any artist whose work has high quality textures, many morphs, especially real-world morphs that clothing/furniture/locations would have. Night and day textures for outdoor scenes, in both iRay and 3Delight add extra bonus points for consideration in a purchase.
Grabbed many of your male outfits, they are great! Leighton outfit gets used a lot, as does Sopshiticated and Biker Bandit!
(Waves hi to NikiSatez) I hope nobody thought I was whining in my previous post. I feel very appreciated by my customers, and I have a good idea of who my frequent "fans" are. I was being a bit cheeky in that post, certainly not upset in any way. But, it is true that people tend to forget morph sets and uv sets when they think of what they use a lot. But, that's okay... They are not meant to be noticed. If they stood out, they wouldn't be made properly, right? LOL. Anyway, this thread has been very informative and I will make sure my other PA friends are aware of it. Cheers!
As an aside, I really liked the legacy shape packs, Slosh, for bringing in some styles I didn't have at a rather low effective cost.
Well... no. The real problem is that the question posed in the original post was basically - what vendors do you buy everything thing from automatically. That phrasing tends to favor folks who produce a very specific type of product and makes it more likely that the vendors who tend to play in more than one sandbox may not produce something that's a must have. In your case, I have about half of the items in your shop, but while the UV sets and legacy shapes for characters are usually automatic buys, I only just started playing around with iray as I have to use the CPU, so your hair shaders weren't even on my radar until recently. And while your new sets look great, I've already got at least three beauty parlors already and somewhere in the vicinity of ten diners/sweet shops. That does tend to temper the urge to impulse buy a bit.
Today I experienced the paradox sides of the 'Buy Without Looking' effect. Blinded by greed I grabbed Flipmode's (one of my BWL list candidates) new 'Tree of Life' environment and its 'First Light' extension - and forgot to check FM's discounted items from my wishlist. HELL!

I've a shortlist of Tomalin, Stonemanson, DM, Aeon Soul (and their many alter egos) and April's hairs.
Then I have a larger bunch of other faves too, like Zev0, OOT, Ron, Lilflame, Smay, Xena et cetera which I'm getting most things from. But no one really without looking, I tend to avoid things which are too much alike things I've already have, especially when it comes to outfits. Large props are naturally more easy to be diverse than smaller ones and hair and clothes. No use paying for duplicates :)
As I am a fan of many PA's, I will never buy without looking. However, I do have some favorite PA's that definitely get me to pulling out my wallet if it's in the Genre that I do. For Poses (when released)..."Shimuzu" although there are not a lot of poses in his/her packs (wish they would put out more) they are very accurate all the way around from every angle, and "AeonSoul/AerySoul" have always put a lot of the same effort and accuracy in theirs....all the way down to the toes, not into the over exaggerated and over bent. Can't say the same for the others (yes I'm picky because it's my hard earned money). Environments: No brainer "Stonemason" & "Jack Tomlin" as both these guys put out bar none the best quality product and their textures are amazing. Clothing?? This has been a hit and miss for me as I've been let down by many of the products I have bought (won't go into detail) but "Luthbel", "AeonSoul", "Eloroncedark" detail, detail details! Shaders: "Mec4d" "ParrotDolphin" & DimensionTheory"...have not been disappointed with quality and versatility. Characters/Skins "Rawart" & "Smay" just badarss stuff... "Raiya" beautiful skins & characters and a new addition is "Saiyaness" she's amazing too, love love. Hair - I seem to use a lot of AprilYSH hair...just love all the different looks she/he comes up with and I've not been disappointed in the quality either. Love that I can still see my models face and generally lots of morphs in them as well. However, with all that said. I respect all the PA's and will buy from most of them if it's up my alley & great quality....It's hard work doing what they are doing and creating within the limitations of the software the best they can to try and please the masses (which they will never be able to completely do...no one can). I see a lot of complaints about this or that....walk a mile in their shoes and understand the process and I think a lot more respect will be given. Prices are great considering how much work & time go into these things. My hats off to all PA's. Thank you.
That hits the nail on the head with how I buy. I've been buying stuff from multiple sites for so long that I have trouble remembering everything I have, so when I see a new item I have to go back and check to see if it's something that I don't already have two or three of. At the same time, I've been veering more and more away from items that are overly distinctive in design and more towards items that are basically a source for kit bashing and mashups. Real world environments and clothing? Those tend to go in the cart pretty quickly. Morph and UV sets and UV sets. Those go in almost automatically. But yet another variant of a dress with impractical cutouts, a bodysuit with built-in high heels, a male outfit that consists of a hoodie and a pair of shorts, or a fantasy vehicle with an overly distinctive design... those I'll tend to debate over a lot longer.
Yep, i13 and E&J.
i13 pose sets are really useful, to the point where I don't even click through to purchase them now; they go straight into the cart. Ditto the environments, they are nicely spacious with lots of potential for staging full scenes.
Emma&Jordi seem to be genre fans who know what makes a trashy road movie tick along. It's that late 70s early 80s aesthethic done right. I believe we're at the point with E&J G3 figures where we could recreate Angels Revenge [1] without touching a dial. Now there's a project. I love the secondary mode of all of 'em, too, there's a humour to them that's just right.
Also, any future characters by chevybabe25, albeit I fear their time is limited as the FBI are closing in on their location to examine their basement. They'll find a little puffy dog called Precious, a bunch of mannequins, a sewing machine, a big pit, and a whole rack of perfect skins removed from their owners. How else are you doing these textures so very well?
1. Mystery Science Theatre 3000 season 6 episode 22, it's on youtube, enjoy.
Very cool to get a spotlight here amongst these amazing artists! Every product has its unique challenges... I start excited and inspired, it can move into real trouble when I find limitations/problems, and then eventually I find a way through and know it will work...back to being excited.
And then looking forward to other artists enjoying my discoveries. This fuels the fire to jump back in again. Thank you!
