is adding chocolate chips to brownie batter too much chocolate?

They have brownies with chocolate chips in them at Papa Gino's and they seem to be popular.  They also have Blondies with the chips in them.  I actually like those better.

Hell.. is other people's code. angry

A quick count shows this system pushing near 80 THOUSAND lines of code.. all of which I have to plow through.. and decipher..

I'm not getting paid enough for this job.  Way, way not far enough, and if I'd known I'd be doing this I'd never have taken the job.

If I can just last about six more weeks... frown

Had to rewrite a thousand lines of code to get into a course once, but I guess I wanted to get in....

A thousand lines of code is not a bit deal for me, I can crank that out in a couple of days.  I could even reverse-enginer that much in about the same amount of time.  But this system consists of several standalone apps plus operating system extensions and it's truly a nightmare of different people's styles. indecision  Figuring out where the shared code is, which algorithm is used where, keeping up on changes as this codebase is LIVE and it's being changed at the same time as I'm trying to document it.. it's all just stinky, runny bull poop. angry

Oh, man...a moving target?  That stinks!  (as you said)

I try to write self-documenting code, even with the variable and function names.  Still, I put comments that describe what's going on as well.  I also put comments in with the date for modifications, declaring what was changed/added/removed.

    Hang in there, man.  smiley

    Dana

There's this killer tool called Doxygen - you put specially formatted comments in your function header/file heaer, run the app, and it generates an HRML file(s) documenting your code, shows hierarchies, function parameters, all for th cost of abiut 8 extra lines per function and file.  I  used it in my past 5 contracts and it's a Godsend, since the documentation is IN the code keeping it up to ate is trivial and a no-brainer.

Needless to say, nobody  here uses it.  Dipwits. indecision Had they used it, I'd be halfway through all this. Oh well, my job is to loearn and follow best practices, apparently not many folks bother.

..afternoon.  Had a fair bit of rain yesterday evening and overnight. Cleared some of the pollen out of the air. Some lingering showers with more on the way tonight into tomorrow.  Then a rapid warmup back into the 80s by the weekend.

Finally got my voter registration revision form. Need to drop that off at the elections office which is fortunately nearby so I can get my ballot sent to the right address. Oregon  is one of the few states to have a vote by mail system. Nice and convenient for many here, no standing in lines or having to rush to a polling site after work.

...seems they need to fix the starter motor on the spell checker, had to try several times to get it to kick in.

Maybe it's just a DAZ spell checker, it'll check youir text...

    SOON!

The weather is starting to warm up.  I can't go out today because my one of my shoulder hurts.  I can go out next week though.  Edit: I forgot to mention that I didn't do anything with my shoulder this morning.

Friday, Payday, not so many complaints today:

    - Leg has been acting up, sore oww, bothersome
    - Neck sore from sleeping funny
    - Digestive distress for no known freaking reason
    - Bills took a huge slice of this paycheck, not much toy money left sad
    - Still cranky and crabbity

    Non-complaints:

    - Beer money left after bills, w00t! laugh
    - Most bills will get paid today, which is nice
    - Quiet, rainy weekend will encourage working on music and art
    - Plenty of BEER in the fridge for tonight!
    - Sending out for chicken wings for dinner!

All in all, could be worse.  This stupid cast and the scooter have really crushed my normal lifestyle, but I keep telling myself it's just for a while and "DAZ SOON" I will get my prosthesis and be out and about again.  This cast is costing me almost $300 a week in cab fare to/from work and the doctors office, normally my commute cost is about $25 a week so this is why I don't have anything in my savings account. frown  At least I'm sleeping better now, that's a positive.

Yep, not really missing DAZ Studio at all.  indecision

Between Flame Painter, Amberlight 2 (which now does animation!) and Paint Shop Pro X8, I have all the album/track art tools I need. laugh

I think Chinese for lunch today.. pot stickers and egg drop soup!  Maybe a couple of egg rolls too.. laugh

Bread flour is a more robust flour, with more protein content, to cope with the yeast.   Bread machine yeast is formulated specially to work in the machine, as there is no resting periods etc when using a bread machine, whereas if making bread normally you would leave the dough to stand, so the yeast starts working and the bread rises.  Instant active yeast can be used as well, with the emphasis on the instant bit,  It needs to be a yeast that can be added to the dry ingredients,  Normal dried yeast has to be activated b in water before it can be used.

...how much simpler can it be?  Kind of like that lever on the steering colmun of a car which acutates the turn signalls that drivers don't seem to know the purpose of.

Well, my store brand, nonfat dry milk box says it contains "Nonfat dry milk, vitamin A palmitate, vitamin D3". and in bold letters says "Contains milk ingredients"  surprise  So I guess it pretty much just contains milk ingredients and a couple of vitamins.

Considering the way they make it https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Powdered_milk  Any undesirable chemicals would depend on the cows.

However if you're in a country where milk adulteration by unscrupulous manufacturers is a problem, then you have a problem.
