Yes, Katie did some damage around here last night :( (nothing expensive for me - I was quite lucky)

Right now I'm just relaxing with a can of Greene King IPA, enjoyng the last dregs of the four day weekend . . .

Beer sounds good - time to go home and get one!!  Glad you didn't get beaten up too badly...

...had a couple pints of really good Scotch Ale last night.  Very strong too.

Well the "other" MM is also a bust as both Wisconsin and Oregon got bouced out over the weekend.  No dog left in the fight so given the forecast for this coming weekend, think I'll be doing a lot of bike riding instead. Need to get the endurance back up.

Morning. A chill wind blowing silver-grey limbs of thick overcast to scrape tower-tops and dull summer-shiny windows as autumn settles on us to stay - at least for today :)

Ok, I feel better now.  No idea what came over me... blush

I hope everyone had a nice Easter weekend!  I spent most of the time in bed, eating, recovering and enjoying my first ber in over 23 days (aaiiieeee)!  Did some work on the computer but nothing meaningful.. it's hard to work on things in a serious fashion when laying in bed.  I do have a potential short-term solution:

    http://birdrockhome.com/sofia-sam-deluxe-memory-foam-lap-desk-with-usb-light-black-100

..which might make more things possible until I move to a place where I can dedicate a larger area to media production (don't I sound pro?).

Cast comes of April 6th. in the afternoon.  No idea what comes next, I think it depends on what's healed and what hasn't.  Somewhere in all this I get to walk again, and I get cool custom boots.  I will likely blow personal cash for custom hiking/walking shoes as well since I want to be able to hike the lake/riverside trails downtown again.

At least work is going well.  Not programming but reverse-engineering the companies own code! The weird things I get to do, I swear.

Complaint: super-short Payday Thursday, only 16 hours due to all he time I spent in the @!#$#$#%#$ hospital.  The April 15 and April 31 checks should be FAR bigger... devil

*edit* "dry" shampoo finally showed up. Did a decent job of getting rid of excess oil, hair feels soft and cleaner than not being washed (lol).  Can't wit until I can wash for real again, wet wipes are NOT a shower!  Besides, they smell funny...

good to hear about the beer :)  Always wanted a pair of alligator skin hiking boots since I saw someone wearing them - they haz the shinning :)

Getting a hair cut at the mall is more expensive than at Great Clips.

  • Getting a hair cut at the mall is more expensive than at Great Clips.

Shaving it all off is the cheapest.  Then you can play with the people at Great Clips by saying, "just a little off the top please."

Things seem decent so far.. finally sleeping o.k. (sleeping with a cast on is a bit of work),  new primary care doctor is a nice lay who doesn't want to stick too many needles into me, cast comes off next week to see how things are healing, mood is decent and morale is "good enough".  Tired of stabbing myself several times a day (oww) but it keeps my blood glucose down so things can heal.

I did discover that, for some unknown reason, Chinse food - and I don't mean the rice or noodles - really kicks up my blood glucose, and not just things like General Tso's Chicken!  Apparently most of the restaurants around here load their sauces with sugar - little buggers!  Surprising find - 4 beers at bedtime and still woke up with only slightly elevated blood sugar.  Who'd have thought?

Big win - Pizza Hut dry rub wings!  Some sugar but not much, great flavor, lots of protein.. and super tasty!  One lage order lasts 2 days, hard to complain.  Just need to avoid the dry rub spiced fries, omg, I can down an entire order in 3 minutes!!

That's all the news that fits.

Complaint:  toes itch.  On the left foot, where thete ARE no toes.  Supposedly this can happen on and off for a year or more! ARGH!! angry

The handle is a litle rough on the hand for sustained support, but that'd make a good headknocker...!
