What about RDNA vendors that decide to pull their products? Will our access to those files go *poof*?

I haven't seen this question answered as of yet, can one of the daz_ people answer it please?

daz_Steve can you please address this question as well? this will affect a large number of us.

So I decided to check an old email address I haven't used in forrever and find over 7000 emails, the majority of which are RDNA newsletters...I don't even remember seetting up and account there let alone purchasing anything.  So I tried signing in and of course cannot remember what my password was, probably written down at home somewhere, so at the moment waiting for them to send me a link to reset my password but it is taking a long time to get their email.

A number of products on RDNA state: This product does not contain materials optimized for DS.

When this merger happens, are those products going to remain poser only, or will they be ported over to work in Daz as well?

Likely up to the vendor if they want to update. Quite a few work just fine, a couple could use little tweaks or manually setting certain maps. Some are poser specific to the point that large adjustments would be needed. Finally a few simply are Poser products that can't function in Studio.  Those last two are likely to remain listed as Poser only.

Probably just wishful thinking, BUT I would love to see the TerraDome products updated to work in DAZ Srudio

  • Does that mean, that this RDNA-Products are not longer free of encryption?

I seriously doubt they'd be encrypted. Same reason the unencrypted stuff here isn't going to be encrypted. Why would they waste time and effort encrypting things that have already been available unencrypted?

I understand that there servers are rather busy due to people downloading all of their purchases as the merger has not been well received

I was assuming that may be the issue so I will just wait, not a big deal because as I said I forgot I even had an account there let alone purchased lol

It has been stated several times, and repeated as many times, that nothing which is not already encrypted now will be encrypted.

So when it actually starts encryption will only apply to New products. At the moement all that is encrypted is those prodcuts which were released to give customers a taster of what encryption would mean.

Though, as you say, this has been stated several times, I had not read that. I read the initial communiques from official Daz people who said that their intention was to gradually migrate the entire store to DazConnect. I am certain that this is what they stated quite unequivocally. Evidently, from what you're saying, there has been a policy shift since then. Pardon me for not keeping up. Thanks for the heads up.

Also remember that just because something is downloaded through Daz Connect does *not* mean it is encrypted.  Except for the Friday Freebies I've picked up (which specifically are encrypted) I can access any part of the products I've downloaded through Daz connect.

Actually...it's both.  The thing is, everything that is currently unecrypted DIM available will remain so, in addition to having a Connect version.   Whether or not that Connect version will be encrypted remains to be seen, especially in light of the new 1 yr rule.

I was aware of that, but I appreciate your specificity and tone. Thank you.

Encrypted content will become available as non-encrypted 1 year after release.

  • There's definitely a lot of questions going round. I hope there's a welcome committee for those intrepid Rdna PAs making the scary journey....

The question of RDNA original stuff moving over has been answered but not the Hivewire related stuff. I'd really like to know the anwser to that one!

  • This seems unlikely, but:  Will items in my wishlist at RDNA be added to my wishlist here?

Check your spam folder. I've had a lot of RDNA emails end up there.

Some of you may have accounts at Runtime DNA.  If so:

    • All your downloads at DNA are currently available through runtimeDNA.com and will be for several weeks.

What happens after the few weeks?  Will my downloads be migrated over to DAZ3D?

  • How many RDNA artists will be migrating back to to DAZ?  Some used tp sell here and went to RDNA a while back  (Lady Little Fox, Tate come to mind)  Will they be selliing here now or elsewhere?

Is there a list of artists that will be migrating here to Daz or a list that tells who isn't?

I've been a long time user at both sites )Rendo, CP as well) and am curious what will happen to some of these artists.

Dear DAZ_Steve, thank you for your efforts in this matter. At present on the Daz Forum threads, you (or other officials from Daz) have still not unequivocally stated that all of our RDNA downloads will be definitely migrating to our Daz accounts. I could ASSUME that "as we migrate products over they will be added to your account here at Daz," means the same thing as that. But that assumption leaves the question, "What if some products are not migrated to Daz?"

However, if some official Daz spokesperson states: "If you bought it at RDNA it will (eventually) be in your Daz library. ALL, and we mean ALL, of your RDNA downloads will appear in your Daz Product Library within the next few months. If you bought it at RDNA it is coming to your Daz library."

That would rest this matter, at least for me. I have kept up with both threads from yesterday, and there is no such clear claim coming from Daz. It only seems like I'm being obtuse; I'm actually being very specific. "For want of a nail, the horse was lost..." Thanks again.

And could someone from Daz please answer my question of yesterday: will the products made for the Hivewire figures be moving to the Daz store?

  • jakibluejakiblue Posts: 7,281

Why don't we give them a bit of time? It's only JUST been announced today - it's possible DAZ staff and RDNA staff are flat out like a lizard drinking doing behind the scenes stuff. Someone might right now be busy typing up a comprehensive FAQ that may answer all our questions. This thread moves fast - they might not be monitoring it every second due to other concerns and duties they have for work and not seeing all the questions. It's been said that it's going to happen over the next few weeks so there is time for them to answer all our questions over the next few days.
