Shhhh don't tell, Daz_ann0314 shopped at RDNA wink

Heh. I think any of us who do 3d art for a year or more end up buying from nearly every 3d content shop out there at one time or another. I've even bought from Japanese poser stores where I could barely read enough to navigate. :)

Wait--there are Japanese Poser stores? Where?

Please see the first post of this thread.

Mike that answers the question about vendors that migrate there is no mention of vendors that pull their content.

TBF, any online content creator who decides to pull their content from any vendor has the right to pull it from distribution as well, as ownership of the content resides with them. Not many do so -- out of logistics and goodwill -- but there's not much DAZ or any vendor can do unless there are stipulations stated within a contract.

Some of you may have accounts at Runtime DNA.  If so:

    • If your login email address is the same at both sites, then you don’t need to do anything.  As products migrate from DNA to Daz you’ll just see them show up in your account at Daz.
    • If you use a different email address at the two sites, please change your email address in your Runtime DNA account to match the one you use at Daz.
    • All your downloads at DNA are currently available through runtimeDNA.com and will be for several weeks.
    • Product Support Teams from DAZ and Runtime DNA will work together to ensure any questions you have are easily and professionally managed.
    • The forums and Gallery at Runtime DNA will remain open.

Simple question: How long will the RDNA forum/gallery remain open?

Yep...probably harder to list the ones that aren't on that list.

Well, I can still download things from Daz that were vaulted and I can download things from RDNA that were vaulted and I can download things from Renderosity that were vaulted - so I AM really hopeful that the answer is yes, all of my downloads will be migrated.

Else it will be very funny to download all of my RDNA purchases to do a new backup ...

Generally when that happens you still have access to the content it just isn't sold to new customers. The merger would create a different dinamic and that is what I am asking about. It is a legitimate and resonable question that needs to be addressed.

We currently have no plans to change the way the forums or gallery at Runtime are working or run.  We honestly will have to watch how that develps out over time to decide.

OK not precisely addressed but that is what was said thus far on that topic...

  • another question (greedy me lol)as i won often in contests or images of the week on other sites such as fantasyattic and dreamslayers sponsored by rdna my question is :will daz be also sponsoring in the future?? because as captain of the market (what i will surely become when it buys up all the competition) daz can surely afford to do sponsoring yes??lol.

good luck with the transition to all,and lots of success i wish you all.

Yeah, it's the usual "wait and see". As long as they don't suddenly vanish without reasonable notice...

I know Ann I was just responding to his comment to my question. I am willing to wait for an official answer and trying to keep the specalitive answers to this question to a minimum to prevent confusion.

I would like RDNA product filter set up in DIM for these products coming over so I can weed them out from downloading.. I have them already installed them in a wide set of Poser Runtimes and I would not want them coming down again and installed in my giant DAZ Runtime.

  • Will Proper Metadata be added to the moved products?

Since I have "creating Metadata for my RDNA stuff" on my ToDo List i would like to know if i can save the time or it this will be a more long term thing?

    Two questions:

    1. Will products that I bought at RDNA show up as being bought in the store here? So I don't ended up buying them twice thinking it's a new product?

    2. I also would like to know whether the Dawn and Dusk stuff will transfer to the store here also? I'm looking for a response from Daz here not speculation from a forum user.

    Thanks

Well, I wont try to answer 2, but as for 1, if the items are in your product library (as they will be when migrated) then they should show up as purchased on the store pages as Daz items do now. There's no reason for Daz to make them any different from the existing store itemss after all. (Barring simple errors of course. I've noticed the store software can be a bit troublesome.)

  • I have two accounts at RDNA. One has an old email address and the other uses my andolaurina email address which matches the DAZ account. How can I merge the old account at RDNA with the other account?

It would probably be best to contact customer support about it, either here or at RDNA, so they can merge your accounts manually.

Steve I have two accounts over at RDNA (one when I was a vendor at RDNA and one for only customer use) with both accounts I purchased content and both share the same email adress. Will these two accounts be merged and put as a whole in my daz account with all my purchase history/downloads?

On any niche cases like this I would suggest opening a support ticket so we can help you with the migration.

Steve, could we get an answer to the question of whether our entire RDNA library will be migrated to Daz or only those products from vendors that remain with RDNA?

  • xyer0xyer0 Posts: 6,321

By "library" I mean purchased products.

  • A number of products on RDNA state: This product does not contain materials optimized for DS.

When this merger happens, are those products going to remain poser only, or will they be ported over to work in Daz as well?

Likely up to the vendor if they want to update. Quite a few work just fine, a couple could use little tweaks or manually setting certain maps. Some are poser specific to the point that large adjustments would be needed. Finally a few simply are Poser products that can't function in Studio.  Those last two are likely to remain listed as Poser only.
