Serene, thanks for the insight and the images. After looking at the promos and the images posted on here, i will have to pass as the quality is low IMO. I am sure a good amount of work went into the project, it just doesn't work for me though. I feel when it comes to uniforms such as firefighters, police, soldiers, EMS, etc, DAZ should really think about a standalone rigged figure other than conforming outfits which don't fit well, warp with morphs and are lacking detail. make so that the stand alone figure loads with the current genesis 3 figure fitted to it so that faces, hands, etc still work with it, but you keep the fidelity of the stand alone figure. I have seen ripped firefighter game models with more detail than this and less of a poly count, so it's entirely possible

Something weird happens to the strips at the wrist as well - this is on Leo 7 but it is on Serene's picture as well. They are parallel in the T-pose, but distorts in every pose I tried except arm straight by the sides.

Yeah, the stripes seem to deform a lot for some reason. I saw it on the shoulder of the george render, and in my own renders. I suspect it may involve some sort of smoothing issue. Perhaps turning it off might work?

I think that is probably true. I am running into this a lot with male figures in full kit which have some fairly strong deformation on the outfits due to the fit of the conforming clothign. I think perhaps a tool to use your favorite head on an outfit might be the way to go. I run into this a lot with soldier's uniforms which is also frustrating. The conforming clothing just doesn't seem able to handle the looseness of real clothing or the complexities of layerd clothes  and it is a rare PA who can do the belts and bandoliers and other gear that doesn't deform. Luthbel so far has been one of the few.

In this case, since the head isn't visible in the full kit, they might just have done what you suggest which would've made a more realistic outfit. AS it is the idea is nice, but I'm not sure the execution really works.

The only supported shapes seem to be Generation 6:

    Supported Shapes:

    • FBMBodybuilderDetails
    • FBMBodybuilderSize
    • FBMGianni
    • FBMLee6
    • FBMMichael6
    • FBMStocky
    • FBMTeenJayden
    • Other Shapes Supported by Auto-follow

Has anyone tried these shapes yet? The product page makes it look like maybe G3M support was an afterthought to boost sales, but not supported with specific morphs.

I don't use gen 2 male any longer. I will try it as soon as I finish what I'm working on. I'm really only a genesis 3 male user these days/ Odd that they would support Teen Jayden.

Maybe this is an old product that has been lying around for awhile unreleased, and then G3M minimal support was added to freshen it up for sale - all hypotheses, of course.

I would think it is very possible. Here is a 9K poly firefighter figuree from a game I play with the head deleted and G3M inside of it. The mesh is poor, but the textures are not too bad and the strong normal map does alot for details. If it had a good rig for DS and the mesh was subdivided, it would probably work well for a full scene with several in the scene putting out a fire or something similar.

Wow, I like that, actually.  =-) I really like how there is bulk and weight to the outfit. That is a big issue I see with genesis 3 is that clothing clings way too much and doesn' have the bulk and shape aspect you would see in a real uniform. Great work. Wish we had a set like that. =)

I think there almost needst to be a  'clothing body shape' which creates a more boxy body for the outfit to adhere too.

I have the Army uniform for genesis 3 males and the arms are so tight you can see the biceps, which is crazy. The shirt hangs down from the pecs like it is skn tight.  I think the uniform should be loose enough that the body is concealed in the garment, wehther the character is slim or built.

I think you may be onto something. =-) Okay, here are a couple of genesis 2 characters wearing the firefighter gear. Genesis Base male and Gianni. There is still some distortion with the belt buckle, but I do think the fit looks better. Ignore the crazy axe. I didn't bother doing any adjusting of the position of it.

Yes, that looks very nice. Only 9K polys for the whole suit is surprising.

Thanks, it's from the Alan Wake American Nightmare game. Actually it's under 9K without the head, eyes and mouth interior. The normal map stands out more and it looks even better when subdivided. I might have to try rigging it to see what results I can get.
