I don't wish to discourage you, But, finding such modest clothing will be a tough hunt.

I would start with Wilmap, she'd done a lot of historical clothing. Her Genesis 1 catalogue is the largest.

Pappy411 used to be a vendor on Rendo, but I can't find him in the searches and clicking on his link in my purchased items bounces me. He had some biblical outfits for M4.

Are you looking for dynamic clothing or just autofit?

I've a nasty suspicion that the keyword is 'dynamic'. Biblical robes are thin on the ground when it comes to conforming. And that overrobe would be a nightmare to rig and have coming out looking well. And Studio has a rather limited choice of dynamic items because Studio doesn't have a "real" dynamic system available to useres. Just enough of one to say they actually do "have" one.

There are some new possibilities. Over on Rendo there's a utility that allows one to use Poser dynamic items in Studio. It enables the item to drape, acto the Optitex controls.

The bright side to that is that there are a LOT more, and more varied, dynamic items built for Poser, because Poser's cloth room allows the user to do the draping, or to "clothify" whatever item they choose. Studio is tied to the Optitex proprietory system which is closed to the end user, and costs too much for very many people to get a chance to work with it. But on the Poser side there are a lot of people producing dynamic clothing. Some of it suitable for biblical renders. Most of it takes shaders

  • Ok guys, thanks for the feedback.
    I'll dig a bit more

Depending on which figure you're working with, and what sort of shaders you have, this might work

Strangely enough, wizard robes and biblical clothing have a lot of stylistic overlap, at least for males. One thing to note, though, is that because of the drapey sleeves, wizard robes tend not to autofit well -- autofit usually destroys the bones in the sleeves, and even when it doesn't, it frequently destroys their function.

There used to be an expansion for SF Wizard that had that sort of overrobe, but that looks like it's not available any more.

EDIT: Sickleyield just re-enabled the links for the expansion with the overrobe: http://sickleyield.deviantart.com/art/Sorcery-For-SF-Wizard-G2M-FREE-EXPANSION-434553638

Don't worry that they say they are for M4/V4...

That is close to the 'base' robe.

How I wish there were more accurate historical clothing we could purchase, and not just solider uniforms, but all types.

    There's this:

You didn't specify what figure/character you wanted it for, and I've never tried using auto-fit to convert anything that old, but hey, it's worth a shot!
