V1 and V2?

N-RArtsN-RArts Posts: 1,603

This is probably going to be a stupid question, but, here I go...

Is it possible to get Victoria and Victoria 2 models?

I'm assuming that it isn't (although V3 is still avaliable and there are items being sold for Michael and Victoria - poses ).

Thank you :3

No, they don't seem to be available any more.

And no, this was not a stupid question (as far as I'm concerned, there is no such thing).  Because I still see a few items in the store for V1/2 and M1/2 (clothing, mostly, and most of it for Generation 2 figures); hell, I've bought a number of them, and a few of them fairly recently!

As for the figures themselves, no, they are no longer available.  (Although I lucked out, way back when, when they still were available, so I snagged them when I had the opportunity!  I don't use them, and probably won't, unless I need to populate a crowd scene.)

V2 vanished awhile before, but V1 was vaulted during one of the near end of year sales last year.

I can't be the only one that would have picked her up for history value if nothing else if I'd have known it was going to disappear, but there was no announcement or anything.

I thought it may have been as stupid question, as I assumed that someone would've asked this before. Plus, I had not seen anything of V1 and V2 in the shop (and I do have a tendency to miss the obvious).

I came across a V2 Bundle this evening, but it was just clothing.

If V2 appeared in the store now, and she was reasonably priced, I would definitely purchase her.

It's in the sale too! Thank you for the link laugh

So, I have V1. I just hope I can get V2 at some point.

Checked your join date.  Apparently it was after the great big PC giveaway thing in 2011 when I got V1 for free.   V2 is the same figure but with more morphs.

I didn't join until February 2013. So, I've probably missed a lot of the older content.

As to the historic clothing; I've been engaged in a major re-org of my Poser runtimes, and in the one for the gen 2&3 figures, I saw a .cr2 of V3 for V2. That I *think* was to give V3 V2's basic shape so she could wear her older sister's wardrobe. If anyone really wants to use that stuff, that might be the way to go.

But no, about the only gen2 figures that are still in use these days were built for the MilKids. Some people had favorites, built for the preteens, mostly, which are still in service. Although most of the characters for the original MilBaby and the preschoolers tended to get replaced by the gen3 versions.

V3 to V2 gives you V2's FBM and V2's UV mapping.  Since V1, V2 and the original Stephanie all had the same base shape, you can use clothing created for any of them on the V3 to V2.  However, you cannot not use textures made for Steph 1 on V1/2 and V3 to V2.  Steph 1 uses M1/2's UV mapping as it was created from M1's mesh.

The V3 to V2 figure has V2's uv mapping so buyers could use their older V1/V2 textures on it.  DAZ also released a V3 uvs for it.  At the time, you had to create the remapped figure yourself but UVmapper Classic is free so it wasn't a big deal.  IIRC, the uvs for the V3 to V2 to give it V3's mapping was in the no longer available free archives.  Anyone who needs it (if DAZ didn't change things at some point), you could probably submit a ticket.

Unlike the V4 to V3 legacy figure that accepts V4 head morphs, I don't think the older V3 to V2 accepts V2 head morphs.  I could be wrong on this.  If I am, someone correct me.  Neither figure accepts body morphs.

V2 is V1 with morphs - and no, they both are vaulted ...

I'll add V3 to my wishlist.

I've got quite a bit of MayaDoll items through poserdazfreebies (a great site). I haven't had the time to look for V1 and V2 items though (but I will in the next few days).

Thanks for the help everyone :D

You might want tpo be sure that whatever version you get has the V3 for V2 morph included. Not all of the packages did, I think.

If one have the CrossDresser from EvilInnocence, then most of the clothes for Genesis and previous generations can be used.

Below are two iray renders of Victoria 2 dressed in clothes from Bad Apples V4 by Propschick and Sarsa.

    Which hair is that?

  • ArtiniArtini Posts: 10,309

It is a very old Victoria Up-Do listed here:

    http://docs.daz3d.com/doku.php/public/read_me/index/152/start

Could not find Daz Store page for it.

I have also a similar newer version of that hair: Updo Hairstyle 2.0

Below is an iray render of that hair on Victoria 2.

I just got v3 a week or two ago. JOdel's comment made me take a quick look at my runtime. I can confirm that there is a V3 to V2 SAE option. I just got the base package, http://www.daz3d.com/victoria-3-0-base. They look so similar that I dont know why you wouldnt be able to use v2 clothing on v3 but I dont know for certain. Also, as Artini suggested, JM HumanShader for Iray works well.

For the comparison Victoria 2 with the hair from Victoria Up-Do listed here:

Heres a quick v3 iray render. I used JM HumanShader for Iray on v3, UHT Hair Shaders for Iray for Dixie Hair and I just UberShaded Liquid Knight On Sky 16. I wanted to do more with Liquid Knight but I just dont have the time right now.

Okay, I just picked up JM HumanShader for Iray to see if it works.

I have also done some experimenting and the results of my Generation 3 work I posted here Iray Shaders and "older" models.

I think I remember seeing some where that V3 could wear V1 and V2 things, because V3 was a refinement of V2.

This is also CrossDresser which can convert clothing (not footware or some accessories) from one model to another.

This makes sense too me as the models look almost identical. The only difference that I noticed is that V3's geometry is more refined. If I have the time this morning ill post a comparison render.

     Nice Renders. :D

I do want to get CrossDresser (for Star!). But, when I tried to "install" a free licence, my Anti-virus (Avg) said that it was dangerous and removed/quarantined it :(

Can you fit P4 clothing to V1 or V2 With a Crossdresser licence?

    AnotherUserName: That's a great Iray render. :D

At least I won't have to post another thread about using the earlier Victoria models in the forums :P

@devilsatdusk15 yes you can fit P4 clothing to V1 or V2. Image below is the Pink Ranger outfit (http://www.sharecg.com/v/80294/browse/11/Poser/Pink-Ranger-Suit) converted. I did end up using smoothing as well. I also apply smoothing to Victoria as well. Seems to help around the bends.

This is a compliation of some of my V2 projects. All except the bottom two images are of the model Roxanne (V1 or V2 base is used) by Capsces. I used a mixture of freebies and bought items. As was mentioned earlier the Poser and DAZ Studio Freebie site is a very good source for getting some wonderful things for your V1 or 2. Roxanne can be found in the Faces and Morphs list for Victoria 1 -2.

Your renders look great DollyGirl. The one that is in the top right hand corner is my favorite!

V3 comes with a V3toV2 figure, which lets you use V3 morphs on the head and gives you body proportions to use V2 clothes (Same as V4 came with a V4toV3 figure and Genesis had autofit for V4 built in).

    Thanks, devilsatdusk15.

I have installed CrossDresser a long time ago, and have not so much problems with it.

Sometimes it crashes, but when I start it again, it converts the clothes, which gave such crash.

I bought CrossDresser on sale, when all licences were included in the pack.
