Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Your query made me have a
moment. I totally missed that drop-down menu option. I had the search box in the Content Library pane set to Database in the drop-down. Switched the option to Files and BAM I got a search box that gives results. Now I can
again.
Kyoto Kid, I reinstalled the Default Resources package as Richard suggested and I reinstalled the AoA lights. Now the AoA lights work as before (not flagging properly but all the options are there) and the point cloud scripted render is back too. Pretty much I think 3Delight works as it did in 4.8 for me. The render below has a single G2F inside a three sided box with an AoA abient and two spotlights. Rendered in about 40 seconds. I thnk that's a speed improvement over the last time I used 3Delight (before Iray came along).
...so is all the flagging broken or just when using the SSS skin shaders? I could just do the reverse and flag out everything in the scene but the character's skin (granted a much more labour intesive process).
Hello,
I'm a complete newby to Daz and 3D. I just downloaded the program and new content that I'd purchased, and accidentally downladed everything to the C drive. What I needed to do was install the program to the C drive, and the content to the larger D drive.
From reading the comments above, as well as in other threads, I gather I can use DIM to uninstall the content and then make it re-install in my D drive. My question is, when I uninstall, are these the only files I should leave installed to C drive: Daz studio 4.9, scene builder & Default resources? Or should the last one also be uninstalled and then installed to my D drive (its name seems to be a content rather than the program)? Am I missing anything that should remain on the C drive? I keep reading about plug ins that should stay on C, but I just don't know what those are (what they are named - so that I don't uninstall them).
Appreciate any help.
Thanks!
You can use the filters in DIM to select Filter By Type > Content > Content, those are the ones you'll want to uninstall and reinstall on the D: drive. You don't need to worry about it, however - plugins will install to where the application is installed, regardless of where you've told DIM to install content.
Thank you so very much, you're a life saver. I'd set a system restore point before I downloaded last night, so that I could simply restore if I made an error. However, my download was so large that it got rid of my system restore and I was panicking a little.
