Probably it's PA sale related. If you bought "enough" during that sale...maybe. Or it could be based on how many (or who?) of the G3 figures you own...maybe.

Yeah, it has to be a hidden orange banner. I've been playing with the prices and can't get anywhere near that price for Eva 7. I'm willing to bet that everyone who can get her down that low have bought several of the "7 figures" and it's triggering the orange banner - but the banner is just not showing up.
I wish I could donate it to you! The little pop up does say it's at least partly because I own 5 G3 characters, which is true, but it just seems such a waste if I'm not a PC+ member. If I had the funds, I might join today, but alas my wallet cries because of bills.
So people are getting this deal that A) Already HAVE Eva 7 and B) can't even use it because they aren't PC+ members ...and people like me who could, you know actually USE the deal, aren't getting it. Well played Daz, well played. :(
I saw the Eva 7 offer as an extra incentive to join the Platinum club. It says it lasts until 13th so I'm going to wait until then to see if the list of BYO Bundle items changes - not sure the current list of items will be of much use to me.
I highly recommend PC+ membership. When they say it pays for itself, it really does. We get five free new items every month (one monthly freebie that lasts all month and then another freebie each week for a total of five a month), we get two $6 coupons a month to spend on DO items, we get an additional 30% off DO items, and we get thousands of PC+ items for $1.99 - $4.99. The freebies alone are worth more than the cost of the membership.
In the previous two anniversary sales, there were quite a few $2.99 bundles, though not BYOB. From 2014, I have bundles 1 through 11. From 2015, I have seven of the $2.99 bundles with the highest number at 9. (There could have been more, but some of the bundles had items I already owned, and some were themes I had no interest in.) Jack mentioned elsewhere that the free Mega Packs will come out weekly, and there will be four of them, so it sounds like the sale is four weeks long. I would be very surprised if the BYOB doesn't change at least twice weekly. Twice a week would be only 8 bundles, which is significantly fewer than the past PC anniversary sales I've seen.
The deal is apparently triggered by the number of G3 figures you've bought. The message said "5 or more"... apparently the code that looks that up isn't looking to see if you already have Eva 7. (I do.) I'm hoping that the "Friends of ..." theme will be repeated for other G3 models, especially for those few still on my wishlist, along with a similar Orange Banner deal. (Though if Izabella shows up, I'll grab the Pro bundle if it's the same price as the Eva 7 Pro bundle is today!)
I'm not a fan of Eva. I never did like how she looked. However, several of the characters based on Eva look good, and that's the only reason I picked her up when she was on sale... not as good as a buck-eighty, but it was a pretty good deal at the time.
I'm still curious as to why I didn't see the banner, despite qualifying for it. I own Eva, so it's a moot point I guess. But I'd hate to think I'd miss out on future deals.
I obviously qualified as I bought Eva for $1.80, but didn't see the banner either and would not have found out about the offer if I hadn't read the forums.
I never saw the banner (it definitely didn't pop up on the first store page I landed on today) but I have a little routine whereby every day I check my account for (a) PC Membership (just to check nothing went wrong with that), (b) store credit (ditto), (c) my wishlist (is anything on sale today?) and (d) my messages: and there it was.
That's not surprising, in light of all the problems DAZ is having with the site these days...
Once I heard there was an orange banner, I checked my messages/exclusive offers , but nothing there either. I wonder if having bought the base character got you filtered, but if you'd bought an Eva bundle, you slipped through? Just a theory.

I bet you do. That's, as far as I can tell, what makes one qualified - as multiple people said it's something to do with buying "five or more G3 figures".
I just looked at my messages too to see if I'd had a notification telling me about the banner I couldn't see, but there was nothing there either. If it took buying five or more G3 figures to qualify then I must have only just got over the line - I was really late in joining the G3 fray and would be surprised I've even got that many.
Yeah, that's what I'm surprised about. My product library has Victoria 7, Katsu for Lee 7, and now Eva 7. That's all I can find. Certainly not five! :)
Hmmm That's very strange in deed. As far as I can tell you're the only person who I've been talking with about it who has gotten the $2 Eva 7 deal without having gotten the "five+ G3 figures" that has been mentioned. Did you spend a lot during the PA sale? Perhaps that's also a factor? *shrug*
You simply need to have been born under a full moon to qualify for the Eva offer. The only other requirements are that Elvis must have been picking his nose at the exact time of your birth and that there was an infestation of headlice in your classroom two weeks into your third year at school. Daz have finally listened to our plea for more easy to understand sales!
I only had four G3 base figures (although I have 5 now I bought Eva). I got no banner, but I did get the discount. I don't think we can say anything definitive about what triggered the banner and/or discount.

Wierd. I can't work out how people are getting Eva 7 for $1.80
I already own her tho, and I did get that orange banner. I had a new release - Absolution - in the cart and I added Eva just to see what happened.....she went in at $4.50 Lower than the stated $5, but higher than the $1.80 that others got. And I also can't figure out how @Ix was getting the "Eva and friends" products for under a buck each!

I think it's probably due to the site issues that have been going on for a while now. When I tried to make my purchase last night the cart total kept changing drastically from $7 to over $100. I'd refresh the page and the total would change to yet a different total. It went on for well over two hours while I was trying to check out.
Eva 7 used to be $1.80 with the discount, then turned to $2.20 an hour or so ago... now it's $4.50, haha! o_o
edit: I'm still on the fence about picking her up, especially since I've used Karen -- a similarly shaped character -- only a handful of times for my renders. The Monokini's nice though.
That's a great theory. I SHOULD have qualifited for the orange banner but didn't get one and no banner in my messages. But I was seeing the $1.80 offer.
However, I own Eva 7, NOT Eva Pro Bundle or Eva Starter Bundle. When I go to those bundle pages, they never bother to warn me that I own her (unlike Overdrawn and Ati's efforts to save us.) So the coding only checking for owners of Eva 7 the solo item seem quite likely.
I still think orange banners are a disaster in general.
So with all the discounts a quarterly PC+ membership was only $9.00. Iwas like "I've spent more than that for lunch at times" so I figured what the hay and bought it.
OMG!
Why didn't i do this sooner the savings and freebies are ridiculous.
Sigh, now I have to budget this in to spending as well.
