Well, is it me or are the sales more and more meh? I do this as a hobby so I'm always looking to get more than the regular 30% by buying more new releases. Unfortunately only in 5 does provide such an option. Mostly it's buy 1 or 2 new to get a bigger discount on the PAs catalog or some specific products. Quite often not that attractive once one has a big library.
Agree that the sales aren't all that 'wow', but I like the bigger PA catalog discounts for letting me chip away at my wishlist. Half the time the buy more new releases for bigger discounts leave me going 'but I don't want more than one or two'.
I think it must be hard for the sales department to have really great sales all the time - nearly impossbile I'd say. They are also limited by what the PAs produce. I definitely wouldn't call the sales "meh" though. Due to the Christmas in July sale stacking with the Build a Bundle sale (along with my $6 coupon) I was able to score this:
You could score several great Pro bundles for $17 each too. And the current $4 bundle sale for V4 and M4 is really cool - quite a few $40-$80 bundles for $4 right now.
I've been tinkering with this hobby for almost two years now, and what I've noticed is daily promos between the big "event" promos, (March Madness, for example,) vary widely in content, genre and discounts. Every sale is sure to be "meh" for some customers and "holy wow" for others. As the saying goes, you can't please all the people all the time. I'm happy if one sale a week hits my "holy wow" threshold.
The Build Your Own Bundle yesterday was a big, pleasant, surprise. And when one or more PAs are featured in multiple sales, with discounts dependent on purchasing a new release from that sale, you can find some incredible deals. The new figure releases can be very tempting, too. I especially liked that the extra discount for Kenji came from buying a new release in the same promo, rather than being dependent on buying the female release two weeks prior. (I want Aiko, but I just didn't have the money when she came out.)
Stick around. Things are going to get wild next month, when the annual PA sale hits. Followed by the annual PC+ sale. Followed shortly thereafter by the winter holidays sale. I'm sure you'll have a few "holy wow" days then.

I've seen some of the best deals in the past year in the last month or two so no, I don't think so. It's just getting in at the right time and combining the right things.
Things getting less attractive once you have a big library is a pretty natural progression though, I think.
I'd like to encourage you to subscribe to the Flash Sale Alerts thread: http://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/comment/1438736#Comment_1438736 - as often times a sale can SEAM "meh" but posters there often dig around and find that different sales stack and created AMAZING deals and let the thread know about it. I've saved a TON of money by subbing to that thread and getting 80%-95% off an item that you like is far from "meh" imo. lol :D
I'll have to echo divamakeup , because I've bought some pro bundles lately for $7 and $17, smaller bundles for $2.10 or so each, plus gotten a year of Platinum club membership for $12.60, and paid $63 for a game developers license, which I got "just in case" due to the price. When DAZ stacks sales, they really stack them! :)
What they said...
Just starting, but I ended up spending around $180 for about $1800 list-price in content over the last several days. When I followd the link to "DAZ 3D for free," from Facebook a couple of months ago, I told myself, "I'm just going to stick to freebie sites and not get suckered into dropping hundreds of dollars on premium content..."
Then I saw that a decent premium content library was THOUSANDS of dollars - and that convinced me that it was all freebies for me...
Then I saw the tips in the Flash Sale thread and realized "I'd be foolish not to jump on this and get some real quality content that will allow me to stop struggling with the disorganized, kludgy, free solutions..."
In fact, if I had known the sales would be like this - I would have waited... although I suppose working my way through the free stuff made me better understand how the actual app works.
I can remember saying the exact same thing when I first started with DS... ten years ago :D :D
BUY ANY ”FLAVORS OF GENESIS 3” NEW RELEASE & GET
Aiko 6 Base at 90% OFF*, Mei Lin 6 Base for 80% OFF*, & Monique 6 Base for 70% OFF*
You beat me to it, Ix...
Anyway, according to the banner ad, it's up to 90% off of Genesis 3 Females! (It should say Genesis 2 Females...)
I keep offering to proofread/edit for the ads, but so far DAZ hasn't taken me up on the offer. lol
I'm confused by that too - up to 90% off Genesis 3 females???
I really wish DAZ would bloody READ their ads.
I'd also like to point out, P3Design is featured in both today's and yesterday's sales. Both require purchase to get the 45% off featured artists' catalogs. But if you buy something from both sales, the discounts stack.
Here's a screenshot of my cart:
Not a bad price if you're looking for more female characters.
It also stacks quite nicely with the V4/M4 $4 sale as many of the "so many flavors" featured artists also have items in the $4 sale.
Has ever happened a cookie or star sale? or toon character like animals for kids? my child wants to do a zoo XD
Yeah, I got Star! on sale a few months ago. I've seen some of the animals go on sale recently too. I recommend subscribing to this thread and the Flash Sale Alerts thread: http://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/comment/1442181#Comment_1442181
You will get some great heads up on the sales there and the users in that thread often go out of their way to help others find out how to get the best deals on the products. :)
Star and Cookie were both on sale when they were first brought over to the store ... if I had to guess, I'd expect them to be on sale again either: when the PA sale happens in a month or two, and/or when Star 7 is released for Genesis 3.
I hope they offer a discount for those who already have Star if they want Star 7. I love the character and would love having her on G3 base for mixing in custom toon characters - but not enough to pay full price for her when I already have her. lol The "7" characters are pretty pricey upon release and it would be good if they where to give us a discount if we already own Star.
Yeah I reallly want Star for G3 so that I can finally have a proper anime head but still be able to use all the usual body morphs. I bought Star and a bunch of bits for her but stopped when I heard she was being transferred to G3 and honestly I hate using old Poser content because it's so fiddly and unfriendly to make anything for (exact same problem with Cookie who otherwise is super awesome.)
Yeah, I agree. I snagged up all the Star freebies I could find but stopped once I learned she was going to be a Genesis 3 figure. Being able to use G3 morphs on Star would be great and I'm really looking forward to it.
Good to know it, I wasnt aware of poser issues, i just have 3 months on this hahahaha ty vm for the adressing, sadly in focusing on own g2 stuff to practice and maybe when i get good I will buy g3 stuff hehehe
The Poser stuff isn't bad, I just recommend using custom categories to oginize it, and it's actually nice for when you first start out because you can get a TON of Poser freebies! I definitely think for a newbie user like myself and yourself that freebie Poser content can be a God-send when you don't have a lot of content to build your scenes with. I definitely recommend the PoserDazFreebies wiki: https://poserdazfreebies.miraheze.org/wiki/Main_Page - it's great for finding good freebies to get your feet wet and flesh out your content library until you can accumulate more of the paid products. For me, as someone who's only been doing this for 4 months, the freebies have been awesome and have really been a huge help, otherwise I'd be limited to a very small amount of content that I've been able to purchase so far.
Tyvm for the adressing o/
According to the EULA, it seems that you can't do that:

I doubt if anyone from Daz would make a stink if you were to let a child use your content, that would be a PR nightmare. But it is in violation of the rules!
The EULA: http://www.daz3d.com/eula
I think DAZ at one point said folks could let their young kids use their parent's content on their parent's computer. I haven't bothered to check their current rules, since I no longer have a young child. Buying DAZ content for a 5-year-old to play with on their parent's computer is ludicrous. It's totally different than pirating. I am rabid about following the letter of the law, purchasing content, never pirate ANYTHING - movies, software, assets... But you better believe I let my 5-year-old play with Bryce and DAZ Studio - whatever it was called back then - on my computer back in the day. Even most games/MMORPGs allow parents to allow kids to play on their parent's computer and account, usually it's until age 13 or so. After that, you have to buy them their own copy.
Anyone know how long the $4 V4 & M4 sales are running for?
They've been going on for a while now, so my guess is they are going to end soon. It's hard to tell with these things though. It would be nice if they let us know how long the sale will run - but then that wouldn't instill that "sense of urgency to spend" that they create by not telling us how long a sale will last.
I dunno, it began the monday, i remember that rainy day, becuz i went into a blackout and ended with my wallet empty, thse sales i guess that t end to stick for a week, so, if I'm right It will end early in the monday or tomorrow in the night, I hope they go away, i have other cart ready to be porchased and my hand is shaking on the place order button hahahahaha
Err... I was supposed to get a giftcard as a prize today, but it's not on my account yet.
