DIM updates question
Not sure if this is the correct forum to as this on.
When I open the DAZ install manager and see an update listed for something I've already purchased and installed, is there a way to see what exactly was updated about that product? I've learned the hard way that sometimes I don't want that "new improvement" to my product.

Find the product page. Click "Read Me". Sometimes, the
As jmuccheiello says, check for an updated readme.
If there's nothing there, then the only way is a file comparison, which means reading a bunch of code and/or looking at textures for differences..
The "Read Me" link on the product page comes from the Daz Dealz browser extension, so mcpugh may not see it.
From DIM however you can click on the "i" symbol next to the product to take you to the ReadMe.
Many recent updates (in my experience) have not updated the ReadMe with any clue as to the changes made, though.
DIM defaults to Daz Central every time I try to use it after today's update.
I select my user ID, but as soon as I hit start it reverts and starts trying to install items in the DazCentral Location
This makes it unuseable as all my content is on a dedicated disk.
Like I know that.

I can't imagine using the store without all the various browser extensions and bookmarklets.
I always forget that's there.
And there are still whole PA arrivals with their backlogs lacking readmes.
Glad i saw this before I hit update on DIM just now. The last thing I want is to use Daz Central. So I clicked on "work offline" after I had already begun to login, and it caused DIM to lock up though. I had to force quit it. They really did a number on DIM it seems. I guess I'll be manually downloading from now on. I wonder why they needed this latest DIM update.
Could it be related to the big zero-day PHP vulnerability sweeping the web?
Ok, this is the first i've heard of this. Good to know I guess, sucks we don't have at least 2FA around here.
Could what be related? The update has been being worked on for a while.
If you work online without trying to install anything, then go to settings, are the paths correct there?
If I change the account in any settings, it still reverts back to DazCentral as soon as I accept anything.
Path goes to the correct disk, but to a "Library" folder rather than the correct path
The new DIM update makes it impossible for me to install my packages online due to web authorization (I use DAZ on Linux via emulation).
EDIT: I got it working without being forced to install Daz 6.
It doesn't work. If you update it, it just sitts there. It wanted permission for Daz 6 stuff and I do not have Daz 6 installed and have no intention of allowing it to be installed.
Is DIM working for anyone? I haven't let it login since seeing these threads here.
It is working for me but of course, I had to log in at Daz to accept the new Daz requirements.
I now no longer have a working DIM - my fault really as I am still on Windows 7, but the install process does not seem to care about that, it doesn't version check so far as I can see, so it tries to install a version, of something, that is only Win 10+ compatible.
That isn't really an answer. I haven't touched DIM. So I don't know what is "of course" about accepting requirements.
I updated DIM two days ago on a Windows 10 laptop running DS 4 and on a Windows 11 desktop running DS4 and DS 6. I had to log in to my DAZ3D account for the updates to be installed, but after that, subsequent logins have not required log in. So far, no issues on either computer.
Yes, it works for me too.
it works for me, it didn't change my default paths or anything, everything is running fine. But it doesn't retain my login token, it reopens the web browser to login everytime I open DIM.
On my Mac, I had a message about resetting my keychain, which I cancelled. Apart from that, no other issues and it has downloaded and installed an update for KOO Clyde.
I tried re-installing DIM, but it's still the same. Bounces back to DazCentral and tells me I have to install all the Daz Modules
Something is interfering with your profile by the sound of it. On Windows that would be in
%appdata%/daz 3d/InstallManager/UserAccounts/
Thanks. I moved the DazCentral.ini and it now appears to work OK
Works fine for me too in Linux. The login token is not retained but that's to be expected.
Linux users - I can't say what's causing your issues individually but this setup works for me: Lutris as the WINE manager and all Daz software installed in the same prefix, DIM, DS4 and DS6. WINE contains a program - 'winebrowser.exe' - which intercepts any request to open a browser from a Windows application and redirects it to your default native Linux browser. If this is not working in your prefix you may have to manually edit the WINE registry for DIM and add your browser. You'll need to search for the solution for your particular setup.
