Autofit G8F crowns on G9 doesn't work

Does anybody else have trouble fitting G8F crowns to G9?  I have a slew of G8F crowns and circlets, but autofit doesn't engage for most of them when I use them for G9.  They appear above the head of G9, and I can't force fit it by right-clicking on the crown and choosing Fit To, because there is no Fit To option.  All morphs for dangling pieces appear to be disabled as well.

Is there a solution to this?

    Most crowns/circlets are probably not rigged props, but static ones. It should be entirely possible to manually parent them to the head and then adjust their translation into position.

    In my experience rigid stuff like crowns doesnt autofit well, its usually better to scale and translate it as well as you can & then parent without autofitting.

    And the fun thing is, particularly if the item has some basic adjustments, you can put the crown on horses, dogs, dragons...
