Spilled drinks

I don't know if such a product exists or whether it would be something I need to kit bash.

 

I'm looking for a set of alcohol bottles that are laying on their side and spilled out, leaving liquid pools and/or stains on flooring/carpet/etc.

 

Anyone know of anything? The only bottles I have with customisable liquid levels don't account for bottles being on their side.

Managed to do something, so you can see what I'm looking for. But I have no way to put liquid into the bottle so it is horizontal - anybody know any tricks to do this?

i got this recently and haven't had a chance to test it out yet, but maybe this might work for inside the bottle?

One method/trick: In a modeller, take the bottle, delete the outside surface, offset the inside surface by 0.1mm to create the liquid volume - this offset stops black surface interference in the render. Delete the remainder of the bottle surface. Invert normals on the liquid surface. Slice horizontally at the lowest point of the bottle opening. Discard everything above the slice plane. Mesh a top surface along the slice plane. UV map. Export as .obj. In DS, import .obj, apply shader to liquid, parent to bottle, save. Not particularly taxing as modelling jobs go, but not fast. When they were here, I'd have recommended GCJellyFish's Dirty Dishes series. They aren't here any more.

basic modeling can help enormously with this stuff

I use Carrara but Hexagon and Blender are free

one needs to cut out the inside of the vessel and slice it at the angle you have it lying 

then fill that edge with a polygon 

how depends of what software you are using

Hexagon can slice, Carrara I would need to use a boolean, I have no idea about Blender

I do have Carrara, picked it up for next to nothing in a Daz sale some time ago. Not used it yet though so I have no idea how to. I've got the gazillion page pdf for it to trawl though as well.
