Unmasking bodyparts
in The Commons
so there are certain clothes or products that mask certain bodyparts when you apply them to the figure such as masking arms, legs or even the eyes, is there a way to unmask it?
for example im attempting to use this product, https://www.renderosity.com/marketplace/products/168296/ta-aguara-body-kit-for-genesis-8-and-81-female, but I want to unmask the hands but I cant find how, is there any way to do so?

I don't have this product but my guess is that they aren't masking the body parts but turning off the visibility of the body part. So, apply the product, go to the scene tab and turn off the visibility of the hands of the product, and turn on the visibility of the figure's hand parts by toggling the eye icon next to each part.
The accessory of Arms uses Auto-Hide with Geometry Editor to make the arms + hands hidden ~
You can check this thread to make them visible, the method is almost the same: https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/765256/dforce-scarlet-valkyrie-fantasy-armor-for-genesis-8-8-1-and-9-females-hiding-hands
thanks I think it kinda works but im having some difficulties only unhiding the parts that I want, like it unhides the entire body not just the hands, or it unhides everything but the hands

Please put the Viewport in Smooth Shaded Drawstyle, or use the untextued DevLoad figure, if you need to show a nude.
If using the Geometry Editore you need to select only the polygons you want hidden for the AutoHide group, and to see the effect you need to switch back to a regular tool (not Geometry Editor or any of the other content creation tools)
This depends on how the hiding is done. If the process is hiding by simply switching off visibility, it can usually be undone with a script like Visibility Helper by Lightblue, available from CGBytes, Renderhub, Renderotica, and probably a few other stores. It's not a unique script and there are several others out there, but it's the most recent I'm aware of. However, there are cases where the hiding is being done with a custom opacity map instead, in which case you need to open up the figures surfaces tab, dial down to Cutout Opacity" and see if the normal body part's normal opacity mask has been replaced you one that blacks out the normally active image area and, if that's the issue, and either replace it with the normal opacity mask for that figure, or to to use the original and the new one as guides to create a new third opacity mask that restores some but not all of the hidden area.
In short, you just need to select the part you want to hide with Geometry Editor, like what I showed in the above thread, then set Auto Hide. However, this case with Aguara armor is a bit unique because the armor size is pretty slim, so the vendor had to hide all body parts.
If you only want to show Hands, you'll get strange looking ~
0) Fit Arm to None to show the hidden polygons, select lCollar, lShoulder and lForearm with Geometry Editor > Tool Settings, then press Ctrl + - for one time so as to unselect the polygons on forearm that the Arm doesn't cover. Set Auto-Hide. (ss 1)
1) Fit Arm back to the figure (ss 2)
Is it that you want ? If it is, we can make a morph to fix it but it'll change either the size 'n shape of the Arm or the shape of the figure's wrist / hand...
Edit: The issue on the torso, legs, etc. will be the same... after reset up Auto-Hide for adjacent body part.... (ss 3) In other words, this body kit was not designed for the scenario like you have, i.e. unhide partial body with this full kit fitted. You have to make more effort on it to get the expected result...
Edit2: Another work around that we usually use is to resize each piece in this kit as per the body size of G8 Base figure (or your character), then create morph(s) on each of them (or re-rig each of them), then you can completely remove Auto-Hide settings...
