Surface tab
Hello,
I am working with Daz Studio 6 Public Build +BETA+ (64-bit) version 6.25.2026.19821.
I had imported some hair, and this tab allowed me to see certain channels. However, the Alpha channel was missing.
Now, I can no longer see anything in the Surfaces tab.
Is this tab working correctly ?

which shader has the hair?
Iray Uber has Alpha (cutout oppacity). SkinPBR has not..
And for strand based hair it uses omnihair shader (if it is newer), and they don't use alpha.
In Cinema 4D, this hair uses two channels: Color and Alpha.
I need both of these channels in Daz Studio for rendering.
In versions of DAZ Studio prior to 2025, I could see these channels—color and alpha. Furthermore, the alpha channel is a very basic channel that is absolutely essential. Without it, there isn't much you can do.
The shader you're talking about might work well. If it yields good results, I'd be interested.
But it is strange that I can't see that alpha channel in Daz Studio, though.
The Alpha channel was present in versions of Daz Studio prior to 2025. I used it for hair.
In general, it would be interesting to know which channels Daz Studio imports from a Collada file (I am referring to the most important ones: bump, specularity, alpha, and transparency).
DS has never been very good with alpha channels.
Iray as it's implemented in DS can't use an RGBA texture directly, you have to "force" it with the Surface tabs built in "image editor" or use the Layered Image Editor.
With 3Delight you had to use the ShaderMixer, as it's "Image map" brick had a Color and an Alpha output, the Iray versions don't have those options.
