Render engine question.

While fiddling around I discovered that I can use 3DL in 4.24.03.
It's not that I'm going to use it as a render engine, but I did a test and it works. I was under the impression that it shouldn't be an option in 4.24 and was removed after 4.23. Is this correct?

4.24 and 6 will convert 3DL to IRAY on the fly, as I understand it. You aren't really doing a 3DL render in those versions.
The 3Delight renderer was removed in Daz Studio 4.24.0.4. You can still use it in Daz Studio 4.24.0.3 or earlier versions.

If you currently have 4.24.0.3 installed, you can back up the necessary files for the 3Delight renderer. By copying those files over to a 4.24.0.4 installation environment, you will be able to continue using 3Delight even in 4.24.0.4.

Ah, It was 4.24.04 that removed 3DL. That will explain why I still have it available. Thanks for the clarification, I assumed it applied to all 4.24 versions.
I read the release notes for 4.24.04 and apart from a couple of minor fixes, pretty much all this release did was remove 3DL. Not a renderer I have used for years, but there seemed no advantage to removing the option. Since 4.24.04 is likley to be the last of the 4 line of releases it is likely I will stick with 4.24.03 as my 4 version install, and obviously upgrade to new 6s as they become available.
