Why isn't it D:Daz/Daz Public library? Have you changed you mind about which folder to use?

I haven't changed my mind.  I'm just trying to do it right (but having a lot of difficulty here).   My D drive that has all of my Daz stuff that I originally installed to was D:/ Daz D Big Drive .

If I could just link up with somebody for about an hour I'm sure this madness would come to an end.

You see, I don't have that option (D:Daz/Daz Public library ) in my D Drive.   But I do have the option D:/Daz D Big Drive.

If anyone would like to make some money (or not) and has about an hour of time to spend helping me make the right paths for my new computer to work right I'd really appreciate it.

Please contact me at this email address  [email protected] and perhaps you can help me gain my sanity back, ha, ha.

    Let's try  some pictures.

My DAZ Studio paths - Primary ("My Library" as Daz  calls it) is E:/s4stuff/gen5; I have another directory for large files - E:/s4stuff/shaders. These are the only two that DIM installs in for Studio assets.

The other three real cotent directories - E:/mydata, E:/3rd-party, and E:/s-temp are not known by DIM. mydata is where I save anything I create in Studio - scenes, presets, scene subsets - whatever. 3rd-party is where I dump everything from other sites.

So - if you look at the DIM directories you see E:/s4stuff/gen5 and E:/s4stuff/shaders. And then there's E:/general - this is for tutorials and such purchased from Daz; Studio doesn't need to know about them as they're pdf files and videos.

When you have multiple installation directories defined to DIM you need to click the "Show Details" in the lower riight corner of the installation tab. The entry for Content Path Shortcuts becomes a drop-down box so the appropriate installation directory can be selected.

Yeah this is more complicated than I thought it would be.   I do have multiple directories that showed up over the years.   I'll keep reading what you said and see if I can make sense of it because I'm going to see different things that do not match your examples here when I try to make this work.    This is why I was trying to get people to show me a workable path that matched what I had done or was used to.   I really do appreciate the help though.

    Uhhg...
