Bought a New Computer Daz 6 paths missing

Hello you all.
I just bought a new computer that uses Win11.
I just installed the Daz 6 and got the Daz Install Manager set up.
DIM downloaded all of my perviously Daz purchase items fine (for the most part). But I'm missing morphs and a lot of textures. Somehow this path didn't work.
I set things up so that all new Daz goes to my big D drive, not the C where my fast but small drive is at and for processing renders. I'm wondering if somebody could help me untangle the mess that was created. I have store bought Daz 3D that isn't working right, and a ton of 3rd Party Daz figures/cloths/props etc that need set up correctly....
If somebody is really good at this I'd be willing to pay you some money to help me get my paths correct as the DIM tutorial on a fresh computer has up and failed me. Here is the instruction video that I used which seemed fair enough and straight forward:
But their are intricacies that are tripping me up especially with the textures and morphs. Perhaps I did not send enough files over from my old computer is what I'm thinking. But, I'd pay money for the help as I have thousands of 3D figures that are now in dire straights due to this move from Win 7 over to Win 11 and DAZ 4.3 (I think) to Daz 6.

You said you set DIM to install content on your D drive, but did you also set DS preferences so it knows where your content is installed?
The video covered how to set that up but it's still wrong.
I'd be willing to show you paths for DAZ and paths for the DIM if you could baby me along. I'm not the most Computer Savy person (obviously) in the world.
I did open the Preferences in Daz and got a General Startup Scene Interface etc. box. Perhaps this is where the tell tale problem can be identified?
Attach images of, in DS, Edit > Preferences > Content > Content Directory Manager > Daz Studio formats expanded
And in DIM > Adveanced settings > Installation
First off, thank you both very much for trying to help me! I really appreciat it.
I took those screen shots for you Felis...
D: and D:/Daz secret library is nested libraries and will mess up. You must not have libraries contained in another library.
You can have 2 libraries side by side, e.g.
D:/Daz secret library
D:/Daz something
or
D:/Daz/Daz secret library
D:Daz/Daz something
Okay Felis, then should I change the name of Daz Secret Library to simply D: like I made when I followed the Daz Install manager video? Could the fix be that simple?
No do not use just D as install or content directory, you need at least one folder below the drive root as the root is protected.
But for example if you use "D:\Library" as install folder in DIM you need to also have "D:\Library" listed under "Daz Studio formats" in DS preferences (and also under "Poser formats" if you have some older content in that format).
So when the video said to set up a D drive it was wrong to advise that I suppose. I had no idea that I had to put a \Library was necessary. I was just going by what the video said to so with a fresh computer. Perhaps he should have mentioned a person starting from scratch with nothing.
Seeing what I have from my posts, how would you restructure DIM and my DA Prefrence path to make it work Leana?
I have a ton of Daz files on my D drive saved from my old computer. I just don't know how to make Daz accept them correctly now.
For example, should the Daz Studio formats be D:\Library\Secret Library??
I'd be happy to give you screen shots of my D drive in it's entirety if that's necessary to form an opinion on the next file path step.
I have mine set up to store on multiple drives.
My G: drive is where the zip and manifest files are kept and the products are installed onto my F: drive.
On my F: drive, I simply created a folder named "Daz" and selected that, DIM did everything else when I installed products.
I moved my downloaded zips and manifest files to the G: drive to free up some space, also because the G: drive is backed up to my NAS along with my E: drive which holds all my project files and renders. Anyway, when I moved these files I created a folder called "Install Manager" (purely to mimic the original folder but that name wasn't strictly necessary) to put them in. Then I redirected the path in DIM.
Um yeah... Anyone want to make a little money helping me set up my file paths so that I can do Daz renders again?
I can send you money through Paypal or whatever you like.
Just decide on a path, where you want DIM to install (not root), and define and set that in DIM.
Then move your content to match that path. (potentially I might be better to reinstall to the new path, but that would require that you have the downloads (or it will take a long time), as it will update the manifest files).
Then in Daz Studio add that path, and clean up the others so there isn't nested libraries.
Felis, I'm very sorry, but I don't totally understand your first sentence when you say not to install to a root but I don't know a root from a turnip alas.
I have everything on my D drive right now from my old computer. I don't know what to tell the new DIM and the new Daz 6 to do. When the video failed me and I could not watch somebody do it, I was dead in the water at that point. I've provided what I have on my computer per your request. I just don't know what to do in order to fix this. I think you were saying to eliminate the Daz Secret Library but I'm not sure. So I'm just really confused here.
Perhaps you were saying to design a new path like D: Daz Secret Library but I'm really not sure. Should my path be: D:\Library\Secret Library ??
Or do you know of a better example on how to make this path that Daz will accept and use correctly? I don't mind wiping everything out as I did save everything.. I think wiping everything out and starting all over again would eliminate any conflicts that this install on my new computer might have caused because it did not install correctly leaving out tons of textures and morphs.
If D:/Daz Secret Library is where you want your DIM installed product, then it must be named the same in DIM, i.e not D:/Daz D Big drive
And in Daz Studio you must remove D:
If you look in windows file manager and go to D: what do you then see?
Okay, I removed the directory called Daz Secret Library from my Daz Content Directory Manager. Now it only contains D. That's the correct step right?
So DIM sends everything to D drive and Daz Content Directory Manager only has D drive in it. But then I need to uninsall everthing that I misInstalled initially right?
And here is what I have in my D drive:
Currently DIM installs to 'Daz D Big drive'.
You can confirm that in file manager by expanding 'Daz D Big Drive' and you should see folders like Data, People, Runtime etc.
You can keep doing that, but then in Daz Studio under Daz Studio formats and (potentially) Poser formats you must have a 'Daz D Big drive'.
You shall remove 'D:' as any other library on D will be nested, i.e. part of D.
No. You were told to remove D from DS content directories and add the actual content directories.
Are all of those folders with DS or Poser content in it? If so, add each of them as Poser/Daz studio content directories in DS preferences.
And no, adding D as a content directory is not the same as adding all of them. You need to add the folder which includes the Runtime/data/People... directories if you want that to work properly.
DazPoser had both Daz and Poser files in it. They each had their own path (a friend of mine helped me set it up that way so that there were no conflicts)
DazSecretLibrary was all third party content that was mixed with Daz and Poser files.
DazStuff was both Daz and Poser stuff that had things like Hair, Poses, Props, etc.
DazWorking Scenes were scenes that I made and save which would have both Daz,Poser, and Third party content that made up those scenes.
So you are saying that haveing the Daz Secret Library was right to begin with? It just needed to be altered some?
I'm starting to recreate it. Am I on the right path by doing this?
See Image
If D:Daz Secret is third part content, then it is fine and shall remain. (You didn't mention anything about 3rd party content).
But you are still missing the library for DIM. And in DIM you call it 'Daz D Big drive', so you can add that in Daz Studio.
But you must still remove "D:" in Daz Studio.
Daz Secret Library is Daz, Poser, and Third Party content.
Do you see my image above on how I'm trying to structure it now?
If I understand you correctly, you just want one library shared between content from Daz as well as 3rd party content.
But according to your picture that library is called "D:/Daz Secret Library/My library"
In that case you must update the path in DIM and move or reinstall the DIM-installed content.
In Daz Studio you must also add this path and remove the others (for Daz Studio and Poser formats).
Yes Felis, I figured a Reinstall would be at the bottom of this in order to correct the situation. I don't know about having just one library but I did just want all of my content to be on the D drive rather than the C because the C drive is far smaller but faster than my D drive. If having separae libraries for Poser Content and Daz was necessary then that would be fine too and perhaps optimal.
Do you reccommend that I delete my Daz 6 and start over all together first?
Then judging by what I have from my old computer, perhaps somebody can help me install DIM and Daz 6 the correct way this time.
DS6 nor DS4 has nothing to do with your content.
If you just want all on your D drive I said higher up, that you e.g. could do
D:/Daz/Daz Secret library (for 3rd party...)
D:Daz/Daz Public library (for Daz content...)
Or
D:Daz Secret library
D:Daz Public library
Or whatever you would like to call them.
The essential is that one library must not be a subpart of another library (nested), and that DIM corresponds correctly.
So DIM would also be desginated identically just like that too? Or just to the D drive?
DIM and DS need to be pointed to the same folder(s) for content that is installed that way (DIM doesn't need to know about folders thata re just manual installations).
So using any of those scenarios that Felis gave, how should DIM look????
For example... If I choose the Base Directory path: D:/Daz/Daz Secret library (for my 3rd party) and D:Daz/Daz Public library (for my usual Daz downloads)
DIM would look like???
Just pick the one DIM is going to install to, ignore any others - they need to be selected only in DS.
I'm sorry Richard, I don't quite understand. Of those two examples that I gave you, which one would you choose per your advice?
The second, since it is the one you use for the Daz content. If the first is for third-party content then DIM will not need access to it.
Would this work for DIM?
Why isn't it D:Daz/Daz Public library? Have you changed you mind about which folder to use?
