Rolling backdrop

Static backdrops are fine for still images (cyclorama etc) but I am looking for more of a rolling backdrop solution.

For example I tried rendering a 360 degree camera shot of a forest HDRI,

I intended it for use as a open window behind the side of the driver to give thte illusion of driving through a forest

Same could be as space backdrop for your ship in space or hyperspace.

Driving through a town or the big city, a boat on the water, skying through a blizzard.

And it doesnt have to be photo-realistic, toon, or stylistic, plus it could be shots where your comining from & going to (front back) theres plenty of possibility here.

Unfortunatly I am not good at this, there are rolling backdrops availabe online but I am looking for something that fits the scene and can never fin a good match.

Something like this duplicated https://www.daz3d.com/180-degree-backgrounds--industrial might work.

Not quite, I am talking about a rolling backdrop.

I have tried to use HDRIs but they are a bit limited when used in animation.

It's not clear to me exactly what you want. The hits I get when I google rolling backdrop don't match what there is of your description.

If you want a backdrop that can be used out of the side window of a car, so its scrolling from one side to the other, you could use a plane to make a very long billboard, put your background image on it, and then move it. Or you could make a big cylinder primitive, put your image on the side, and rotate it. In both cases, I'd render, or find, or create with AI a short stretch of backdrop, use an image program to turn it into a seamless image in the horizontal axis, and then tile it on the primitive.

HDRIs and animation don't really mix (except for static camera time lapse day turns to night animations, I suppose).
