Setting up external drive issues with macOS Tahoe

globallyglobally Posts: 133

Hello,

Recently came back to the mac after a long hiatus and am having some issues with selecting my external drive in daz. I have a clean install on my internal drive and when i try and point daz to my content via the Content Directory Manager the add button is greyed out. Any ideas what im doing wrong? i have changed the install path in DIM but still get the same problem. The drive is APFS encrypted could that be the problem? i hope not as its taken hours to transfer my content on to it.

Sorry if this has been asked elsewhere but i couldnt find a simple answer using the forum search function.

Cheers

edit: the only button that isnt greyed out on the left side of CDM is "new" under content sets. the button highlighting seems kind of buggy too.

I have a MacMini M4 with Tahoe OS installed and I opened my D|S 4.24 to check on my Content Directory Manager and also my Disk Utility.

While I have my main Daz files stored on the main drive, my other DAZ folders are on an external drive that is formatted APFS. Not encrypted. I had that on my MacBookPro and it drove me freaking nuts.

The other thing is, do you click on DAZ Studio Formats first, when you do, the option to 'Add' button is highlighted. This goes for each of the groups.

Also, make sure you have given Daz Studio access in Files & Folders and Full Disk Access under Privacy & Security in System Settings.

Thank you so much for the quick response. I selected "Daz studio formats" and that gave me the add button. i also gave full access to both daz and DIM just to be sure. i seem to have full access to my content now. Heres hoping i dont run in to many other issues.
