There are a few PAs that create characters that are not all glam babes and studly men. I think Feng is one such, and Matari3D ...the lates from Feng https://www.daz3d.com/fn-martha-hd-for-genesis-9, Mrtha, is one such character.
What others do you see or have that are not just pretty faces with huge breasts and hourglass figures? You know, just regular folk, old folk, and so forth. LINKS PLEASE, AS WELL

Most of them really don't have big boobs. Just search for "Realistic" and they generally look like normal people. Sure there are few models in there. But the first one certainly isn't a glam model... Oh, that's FN Martha. Amusing. None of them are sporting Double Ds.
I think Kooki has a nice selection of characters that look like real people. Some of them are "pretty"/"handsome" but in a more casual way than "three layers of makeup Hollywood star" style. (Even if some of their characters do seem inspired by movie stars.)
There are some vendors that have shaping packages for the base figures or variations on core characters: Fuseling, AliveSheCried, Sickleyield, P3Design, Male-M3dia, Lyoness, and others. Those should keep you going for a while...

I beleve most of my collection in the past few years has been "real" people. Most were "Seniors" like me. I like to share humorous images with my friends in my senior citizen community.

Judging by the promos, I like some of the DO "Star" figures they had in march. While the later ones with those bulgy eyes were pretty terrible, I wouldn't want for free. The first ones seemed interesting. Especially: Lucas for Genesis 9, Sienna for Genesis 9 and Leila for Genesis 9.
Personally a fan of Beverly and other Mechasar characters, though some of them can be on the less realistic side.
Thanks for starting this thread. I myself am not so much bothered by the overtly sexualized models in the store. What I am looking for is variety in ethnicity and facial features, a reflection of the diversity we see in the world. There's a quality I'm lookimg for that goes beyond appeal to base sexuality -- I'm at a loss for words describing it. Maybe "character" or "demeanor". Some models show strong potential in converying this.

Agatha is another lovely elderly lady. Virtual World also has a nice set of older male characters for G9 and for G8M. All of their characters are generally worth looking at and quite distinctive IMO.
Rawart has great human characters among the creatures, for example Ephraim, Big Lou, Vyktor, Marissa, Jemma...
Phoenix1966 is another vendor I would add to the list.

On the subject of Lucas, is the character meant to be female, male or somewhere inbetween? It almost looks like a TS character to me with it's fairly masculine frame.
I'd suggest 'Female' from the underwear used in the promo images.
I have a cousin who has done a lot of conservation volunteering in her life. She's somewhat taller than my 6ft1in, and definitely out-muscles a spear wielding valkyrie. Her biceps are not far off the size of my thigh muscles. She's very, very powerful. It just shows men & women come in all shapes & sizes.

My guess would be female, and the description uses female pronouns.
The great thing about G9 is that you can decide for yourself.
But I'm fairly certain I saw her as a cashier in a supermarket next to my work - grumpily eying the customers.
with all? the core 9 figs you have the option to make them either female or male as you get the the gen options for both and in real life there have always been males and females that lean more towards the opposite but still identify as they were born same as women that were born as female and have facial hair it's a hormonial thing

It's more work, of course. You can use skins from other characters, too. It's a thought, anyway.
....if you have the Genesis 8 UV Swap and/or UV Swap for Genesis 8.1 uilities by Sloshwerks you can use Skin Builder for G8 on G8/8.1M as long as you dnlt need the "naughty bits".
Ther eis also a body hair add on for G8F.Lush Beard and Body Hair for Genesis 8 Female by ChangelingChick. Not sure if that wll work on 8.1 though.
I like how using G9 characters doesn't exclude the use of G8 or even G3 characters within the same shot. G9 and G8 are definitely more realistic than G3, though G3 isn't exactly surreal either, just closer to what's (or used to be) considered ideal proportioned.
The main problem I encounter, is that different figures don't always render nicely together because their materials aren't comparable.

It's really hit and miss, sometimes it works out, sometimes it doesn't.
For those preferring idealized figures, G3 is definitely the generation to go, for those wanting realism, G8 and G9 are probably the better choice, and especially G9 has brought some types that were basically non-existant in G3. But to get them all together within a single render, you may have to jump through some hoops, maybe invest in a tool that allows you to use G9 materials on G3.
