If anything's consistent between the "new monthly sale" and old D+ sale is that it starts very, very lackluster. I'm not playing what is really a punchcard game when there's one item per day to choose from. The price isn't the problem: I'd be happy to pick up $1.99 and $3.49 items from QG/OS daily as a requirement, but to pay $2 daily for items I don't want at all (or more if I skip days), the related discounts would have to be crazy good, and they are not.

Maybe, if the wishlist coupon continues throughout the month, I'll find the right combo of a Daily Dealz item and an already discounted wishlist item to use it.

At the same time, this sale feels like a relief. I don't feel pressured to buy daily, and I definitely don't feel like I'm missing out on anything. And there's still OS to browse through for the month and weekly QG to look forward to. :)

I was hoping for a good gift card offer, not tied to a purchase, but no, it requires three Daily Dealz. I don't understand why there's no good offer on GCs; with an increase in available credit, users spend more easily, especially during a supposed sales period (it happens to me, maybe to others too). As for the daily offers, they're not bad so far, but nothing that has excited me enough to put them in my cart. I hope the situation improves during the rest of the month. The OS and QG selection, however, is good this week.

The Daily Dealz don't release in pairs like I expected - making it essentially the same as punch cards, other than you can pay a premium to essentially buy missed punches on the spot. $2 x 30 days just to participate isn't appealing, and neither is $10 x 8 to participate on random days. :/

My guess is that this money is not tied to specific products, and Daz is loosing more money on giftcards when you buy non-DO products. Because that extra store credit is money that never existed, but Daz still has to pay the PA their part, but they never got the money. And while there might be some people who never spend anything unless they got a good gift card deal, I doubt they're a majority. And even if they are, all the more reasons to stop offering large discounts, because of the money lost.

IIRC DAZ gets 50% of the money spent on non_DAZ products; so with any gift card discount less than 50% DAZ is still making money on the non-DAZ item -- just less of it.

So the bigger the discount, the less and less money they make if the gift card purchaser doesn't get many DOs, especially when you might have factor in the sales tax also covered with store credit... I'm not an accountant, but I'm not surprised that big discounts on GC aren't common anymore. Prices are rising everywhere, and many companies struggle because their clients struggle, and in case of Daz, most people are buying GC for themselves, so it's not the case "they'll buy it as an actual gift and it never gets used by the recipient" like some stores might have.

Regarding the lack of decent Gift Card sales...

I shouldn't complain. They've left hundreds of dollars on the table the last few months because I haven't seen the basic 10/15/20% off $100/150/200 Gift Card sale without any other buy-in. I've bought a few Gift Cards w/o discount and that just means I've spent my budget into July and possibly August. The odd thing is if I had been able to get the normal tiered discount, or even a straight 20% off :-), I would have kept spending out the store credit and buying more Gift Cards.

I have some house expenses to deal with anyway so I guess they are doing me a favor.

Agreed. I don't want to play this game, & even if I could use any $1+ purchase for buy-in, I wouldn't be buying every day & probably not every 2 or 3 days. There's several things in my WL I could get for $10 or less, including the cost of the Daily Deal, but I am just not feeling it.

So I think I will do the same - shop OS/QG & wait for a Daily Deal I actually want to meet up with an already-discounted WL item.

buying MSO Pam lowered my cart by quite a bit. Anothr thing, the wishlist 50% off states 4.99 minimum pricing, but the tokens and daily dealz still reduces it. Adding the dail dealz lowed the cost of 3 items lower than the 2 I had in there.

Tokens do lower the 4.99 minimun, but the daz dealz lowering it is a bit tricky. It seems the item needs to be bellow 4.99 before applying the coupon (and tokens). Here two examples.

For the expression hairs, I don't have perfect matches but suggestions and you might look at some of the PAs' stores for other hairs. I have found some hairs can kill my Mac, so I have hesitated in buying the longer, full curly hairs. As you can see, some of my suggestions are older hairs.

Oh, I love them all! Thanks everyone! The 2 afro puff styles and really long braids are styles I don't have. The only afro styles I own are very short like https://www.daz3d.com/omri-hair-genesis-2-female-s and I don't think it has longer morphs. https://www.daz3d.com/hs-kelly-messy-curves-hair-for-genesis-9-8-and-81-females, which I own, might look good too.

I was considering https://www.daz3d.com/bast-hair-for-genesis-3-female as well. I am happy to use older hairs. I have my go-to Iray hair shaders.

...love Steampunk Alley. Looks like a nice addition to his Streets of Steampunk (which I already have). So much steampunk content I often see seems a little too "over the top" so to say, but Stephan strikes a nice balance as the accents are there though are more subtle.

This reminds me more of how I pictured the world as depicted in Bruce Sterling's The Difference Engine. . The accents are there but are more subtle.
