Pausing a long render

This is a 3Delight question - but presumably relevant for iray ... is there a way to pause a long render (so the PC can do some other things) and then unpause it, to continue on from where it had got to?

    No, there's no way to pause a 3DL render in DS.

    Iray can be paused, by using the Cancel button, in either the Render or Progress windows, and resumed, using the Resume button on the Render window.

    Thanks.  My next project is to start using Iray.  I'm mid-project with thousands of assets in scenes that do well in 3Delight.  And for certain shots, 3Delight had functionality that Iray does not.  But going forward, I need to move with the times.  Cheers,
