    It's getting hard to tell these Daz Original characters apart. Don't we already have a viking theme with Ivar and Freja?

    I like the consistency of daz originals in art style/pack contents, but there feels like there's so much redundancy in the characters coming out recently. Even Tara and Ava had some spice to them, while still having the option for "modern caucasian women" for those who don't want any quirky elements.

    Can we please get more skin variety? How about an alien with large eyes and a small nose? How about human characters that come with a secondary skin that makes them look more scifi or fantasy? How about a fantasy monster like the werewolf pack from ages ago? Lahr and Niketa were great too!

    DIM did not have an update, but I went ahead and uninstalled Sigrid 9 and deleted her package. Then downloaded a fresh zip file for her. When it was done, I checked DIM's list of installed files and saw that the problem textures were now in the correct folder. Opening Daz Studio I loaded Sigrid 9 and no error notice was triggered. So if anyone downloaded earlier today and is getting error messages for her, I recommend doing what I did to see if that fixes it for you.

    I will say this is the first time I have ran into this issue with a Daz Original character, since buying for them past ten years.

    Totte, thank you for looking at this for me and others.

    But do things look ok when her mouth is open?

    Well, rats. The inside of Sigrid 9's mouth skin is flesh colored, but the teeth, gums, tongue and back of the throat are pure white. I brought up one of the DO Basic characters we have had for sale recently, Sienna for Genesis 9 and compared her mouth and she has all the color she should have inside of cheeks, gums, teeth, tongue and the back of the throat.

    Yet I didn't throw any errors. What is going on?

    Edit to add: I looked at the mouths on both characters, Sigrid has nothing linked for mouth or teeth in surfaces, while Sienna does to the Basic DO material sets.

    I think they fixed the missing files problem and introduced another problem (the materials for the teeth are set in the same file).

    It's not a big problem - just go to "People/Genesis9/Materials/Daz Originals/Base Materials" in your library and set the textures using G9 Mouth Mat 01.  I'm sure it will be fixed in time.

    That's strange - could we have different versions of this file.

    Here's what I see (from line 181):

    {
    "id" : "Sigrid9_Gens_F_D_1001.jpg-1",

    }
    ]
    },

     My version of the file is dated 18/2/26 and is version 0.6.1.0.

    The files I have were dated from 22 Feb 2026.

    Is it possible that DAZ is doing real-time updates to the download zips and I downloaded before the update was done and you after? I am opening up DIM to see if there is an update for her now.

    No updates in DIM, and my files have these dates.
    8 -rw-rw-rw-@ 1 totte staff 269 apr. 12 2023 Add to end of eyebrow wearable.txt
    3312 -rw-rw-rw-@ 1 totte staff 1695227 mars 21 2023 Sigrid9_AddOnMAT.duf
    336 -rw-rw-rw-@ 1 totte staff 168311 mars 21 2023 Sigrid9_Eyebrows.duf

    So I guess there are different versions for some reason, I downloaded mine just a few hours ago.
    And this file: Add to end of eyebrow wearable.txt says this was not the version that should be uploaded.

    I’m always crossing my fingers for the next Tara Succubus / Sylvia Dryad / Lahr / Lycan... Maybe a "Bovus the Minotaur" or "Hilda the Hag" some day? They really deliver when those come out; they don’t feel like something hastily stitched together in a week. Also, there’s still no older woman character yet, like a granny or a female equivalent to Walter or Everett. And no, Sigrid and Minerva are not them.

    Daz promos hurt new character intros by mixing them with other morphs and themes right away (male/female gender swap, wizard, spy, doctor, athletic, lean... plus bonus morph). It blurs what the actual core character is. If you think back to Daz Originals Genesis 3, I bet you have a better memory of what the core characters looked like and how they differed from on another. Now its all about mix and match morphs and themes.

    Coming back to the topic, I like her. A mature looking attractive character who isn't a plastic bombshell or "a woman in her 30-40s" who actually looks like she's approaching 60 fast.

    I don't know about approaching 60 but yes I like her too I try to buy every mature female character I can and yes I use them in my pinup art a lot

    That was a comment on the general trend that when we get a "mature woman" supposedly in her 30-40s (according to the products' descriptions), she often instead looks like she's well in her 50s. Or barely 20. Nothing in between :D.

    I'm glad I don't work in a job where  I have to card someone I've seen some mature women that look younger and some younger women that look older some a lot older some guys too genes and lifestyles guess I keep forgetting sometimes I'm old 53 but I've been told look younger though I feel really old. But yeah like I said when a mature fig comes out I try to grab them but yeah getting them at specific ages like you look at them and go yeah they could be 18-25, 30s, 40s, 50s and up would be cool but hard maybe if you took some celeb and did a fig based on each of those age groups especially if each generation they look different in body and face shape as well as lines stretch marks and such
    my first render of her with Everett in Afternoon Delight 26

    And that is why many places that sell age restricted items have policies that every buyer who looks under age X gets carded, X being a number much greater than the legal age to buy, like 40. I've even heard of businesses that card every buyer.

    Sigrid herself is okay, just not what I wanted. I was thinking of getting her later on, but the comments about issues make me unwilling. Daz often takes their time fixing issues, and I don't want to risk being stuck with a set that doesn't work well, because I got it with a coupon.

    When it comes to Daz Vikings, I still prefer Freya 8 & Ivar 9.

    Mystery Solved!

    It's the Sigrid Athlete Add-On that installs the broken files. Reported through ticket system.

    That makes sense.

    Have you reported the issue with the materials for the mouth as well?

    This isnt the "viking theme". Its the can we make a Rebecca Ferguson clone and brand it as a viking, elf fantasy warrior, rogue assassin, barbarian, sorceress, modern bar nightlife patron, casual contemporary male fashion model etc.

    Vikings came from Sweden ( and Norway and Denmark ). Rebecca Furgesson was born in Stockholm, a Swede, ergo, she's a Viking, case closed ....

    I agree. My point was more about how Daz frequently mixes and mashes up multiple themes into a confusing mess with all their characters. Rebecca Furgesson as a viking works. I just prefer Daz would stick to a common theme when introducing new characters. They might be familiar with the character internally working on it for weeks, but when you release a new character to a new audience, focus on what the core character looks like and themed as. When you jump from a viking, to a bar patron, to a male fashion model, and also mixed with other Daz characters and different body shapes, I'm already lost what the character is.

    I would be all in favour of mix & match if they were actually modular and accessible. One of the things I like about the daz original pattern is every character comes with both male and female textures. But then werewolf came with both male and female textures but female morph is locked behind premium - which means I can't get an interactive license for it. Or there's Maryam which has a glorious stylized shape and texture set but no other characters I'm aware of were released in that style to match the aesthetic.

    I'd love to see some of that variety expanded on with more frequency.

    I didn't even see the Rebecca Ferguson likeness. However, the Nordic theme is on brand. The actress is Swedish.

    I just got a reply from CS
    The issues with the Athelete HD Add-On is fixed). If you have the issue uninstall both Sigrid and the Athlete HD Addon and reinstall ( use DIM to be sure it is correctly removed and resinstalled )

    Can someone with Sigrid 9 Athlete add-on post a render of what she looks like without Sigrid 9?  Especially the face.  I like her face but not particularly interested in Sigrid 9 otherwise.

    Sorry if this is repetitious, but Sigrid is already in the Premier Character Coupon list. Normally they get added a day or two after the introduction.

    Not sure if this is what you meant, I rolled all of the Sigrid 9 morphs out, except the Sigrid 9 Athlete Body HD and Sigrid 9 Athlete HD. If I messed this up, I am sorry for wasting your time. I didn't bother to simulate the exercise outfit.

    That's exactly what I wanted, thanks!  So she's in the cart along with the clothing bundle.

    I was just going to buy the outfit collection, but then I realized that with the way my cart was loaded, the discounts resulted in the Character bundle being just $7.01 while the ADD-on Bundle was only $6.30.  While I do find her rather redundant as far as my collection goes, at those prices both bundles went into my cart with the character being a bit of an afterthought..

    Not just difficult to tell the characters apart but, to an increasing degree, futile to even attempt to do so.

    These bundles are coming out every two weeks.  Many customers can obtain them at no additional charge by using a coupon.  So the content needs to be churned out on a regular basis in a limited time frame for a finite financial return.

    I'm sure I'm not the only one asking if the outfits or hairs were completed first, with a generic white female Genesis 9 model thrown together to complete the bundle.  To me, it looks like more thought and effort went into the wardrobe items than into Sigrid 9.

    I like her; she's got a some realistic age on her. I don't specifically need her for anything at the moment, but she went on my WL in case of a good sale or some character introducing herself to my story that she'd match.

    Sigrid 9 has a reasonably interesting profile, but for a figure from this era, she looks too “modern” and urban. Carefully plucked eyebrows, for example, oh please... Of course, I don't know what a Viking woman looked like, but I imagine her to be a bit more rugged.

    Historical Vikings were famously well-groomed.

    Indeed, Saturday in Swedish, Lördag, means Washingday in old Norse speak, the day the Vikings took a bath and washed their clothes. But, it was a bit different wintertimes, when they lived in the same clothes for 3-4 months without washing, and smelled awful due to they all had open fires indoors to warm the huts, combined with the smell from unwashed bodies and clothes.

    Here's some play renders. The Athletic add-on that I like I posted earlier.

    Her eyebrows sit too low in the eye socket. Swapped out here.

    The Premier add-on is ridiculous. Sigrid 9, Athletic add-on, Premier add-on(And also started applying itself to every character load! Opps. Uninstalled.)

    Romance cover using the Athletic add-on (not a very clean render)
