surface tab >show sub items problem.

Apparently in all the years since 2007 the show sub items has never been turned off. 
I have no idea why it got turned off a couple days ago but it was a pita because it's a setting I've never used (and can't begin to thing of a reason to use. 
Is there someway to set it so it's never turned off?

Its On/Off status is saved in : %appdata%\DAZ 3D\Studio4\layout.dsx.

In general, if you didn't set it Off manually or load a Layout with its Off status... it shouldn't have been turned off.
