How does this stackers thing work? What does one do? I got like 37 stackers so far.

It lowers the prices of items in certain categories, mainly new releases. The promo page shows by how much - for 26+ it's 70% off Doorbusters (that day's releases), 55% off debut (the day before's releases) and 50% off Still New (the slightly older new items). You may not see the full discounts until you add the items to your cart.
It is not an extra percent off, though. It replaces the percent off that you would get if you had no stackers. So if the store page shows 50% off on a Dorrbuster item, in your cart, that will go to 70% off.
The text for Stackers reads Get 1 free gift each day to unlock stacking savings later on. What is the later on? Is there some great product that is coming that will be ridiculously cheap with 26+ Stackers? Is there an end game for Stackers? I currently have 40.

So far I've accumulated stackers but haven't used them in any purchase. Are stackers similar to credits that we accumulate then spend, then accumulate more to build up our credits?

Your Stacker count can only go up. Stackers aren’t accumulated, spent, and then reaccumulated. You keep the Stackers that you have accumulated even if you use your Stackers discount. The top tier of Stackers discounting is reached with 26 Stackers. I have used Stackers to buy two Doorbusters since Stackers was launched. The Doorbuster items are only available for Stacker discount on the day that they appear. On the next day, there will be different Doorbusters.
They impart further discount on most, not all products in the DAZ Store when you have a Doorbuster, Debut New, or Still New product in your cart simulataneously. Unlike the DAZ Tokens they never exhaust, or get spent. Also, once you get 26 of them, further stacker points are useless. The table of the discount rates, needed stackers, and product classifications has been on the daily sales page along with your current number of stackers. I have 50 stackers for example. The number I have goes up everyday because I "buy" the daily freebie they've been releasing each day that Censored has made.
