With the Christmas sale done, it's so relaxing now to just check new releases, wishlist 1 or 2, and then just... not have to shop, remember to keep your punches up, etc. I have 3 QG items in my cart, and will likely be back for some Monday/Tuesday QG shopping, but after an exhausting month, it's nice to give my bank account a break.

I'm feeling the relief, too. Prices are up... oh, well. QGs can wait till in case they become a buy-in or there's a spontaneous exrra discount, and I'll grab what I actually want (as opposed to what's cheap and will keep up a punch and I wouldn't mind having) and call it a week.

December was kind to me, no complaint, and that sale on the 31st definitely sparked joy, but I'm also very okay with getting to use that mental energy for other things.

I loved what I got last month but I didn't realize the amount of energy I put into the December sales until it was over. I am fine with buying little if anything in January, which was my plan all along. The extra glitches & lower discounts just make it easier to stick to my plan.

Yeah, unless something spectacular happens, I'm probably on the bench until March Madness... which often doesn't do much for me, so it'll likely be longer than that. I'm looking forward to making progress on getting all my assets cataloged; if I can't find them, it doesn't do any good to have them. And the daily influx, while nice, made it really hard to make headway.

Hey, everyone who complains about the favoritism shown to G9 stuff, nothing G9 is in any of the Beast sales. There's sales on "humanoids", "beasts and creatures", and "pump it up (swole)". Click on figure in the filter and "genesis 9" isn't there.

And there's no "still new" for 30%. Weird. That hasn't happened in ages.

Even the artist stores today don't match from yesterday. I guess they're finally moving on from December.

A magic-user outfit worn by a female presenting figure in the promos - & it covers everything but hands & lower face! No skimpy slit-to-the-hip skirts or micro thongs, no fantasy bras, no midriffs or cleavage. How is this even allowed here? / Snark

I love it! Alas it goes to the WL, since my buying is done for a bit For Reasons.

Oddly, this outfit includes a plain cross necklace, which even the fantasy clerics outfits here don't offer.

Realistic and versatile! (I'd substitute in one of my other pendants for the cross, but hey, not like that's hard.) Going on my WL, too!

If you want to put that sort of time and energy into it, you could, but it's not like Daz is unaware if the constant problems. The fact that it's still a "day that ends in -y" situation around here means it must be working okay for them. Change mostly requires a tipping point of dissatisfaction with how things are, so it's logical to conclude they haven't reached that. Unfortunately I don't think an outraged list would add enough straw to the camel's back to reach that if a glitch sale where everything intended to be 60% off but was 60 cents instead didn't.

I get your frustration. I really do. And if having a list relieves some frustration or benefits you mentally in some way, go for it! I'd just hate to see you potentially more frustrated putting the effort into doing it and then having it fail to improve things. Unfortunately for us, as a business, Daz is way more interested in the bottom line than it is with our feelings.

Hence why people should be making more of an effort to keep the pressure up. People need to stop giving them a pass. This is a multi-million dollar company with likely hundreds of employees, not some struggling new start-up with 2 guys trying their hardest. People are commenting in forum threads today that they're thankful for all the effort Daz has put into trying to fix the coupon issue.......even though there's been zero evidence of them doing anything. The reason Daz hasn't hit that "tipping point" is because people have decided to accept this terrible level of service for decades. People's dissatisfaction needs to translate to actual drops in sales or official complaints to agencies about bad business practices.

Also, they've still yet to have a day this year where there were no issues. "Beastly" sale this morning didn't work correctly (plus the coupons are still broken)

@danmast94 I see no sign that Daz has hundreds of employees.

Every publicly available piece of information I could find stated a rough estimate of between 50 and 200, but more exact figures had it between 70 and 140. And that is staff working directly for the company, not including the hundreds of PAs who are actually providing most of the content/products in the store. What I meant was that they are not half a dozen guys running a website out of their garage. This is a company reportedly making millions every year

I'm not sure how many people are "giving them a pass" so much as living in the reality that even with all the issues, Daz still has the most affordable prices overall, and their stuff (for the majority) works in their own software. I can only speak difinitively for myself, but I suspect I'm not the only person who would only really be shooting themselves in the foot if they made a protest boycott. Realistically speaking, I started 2 years ago. My budget is comparatively minimal. Daz was doing fine long before I showed up. It'd be the height of arrogance to think they'd miss me. But I would miss my art, which brings me a lot of joy. And so... impasse. They'll continue screwing up, I'll continue being annoyed and not trusting them. I'll take advantage of the sales that benefit me, and when they don't... well, natural consequences on those days.

But like I said, if you feel better doing it, go for it, and I'd be delighted if I was wrong about it being an exercise in futility.

More people at Tafi/Daz than I'd have thought. Interesting article, though obviously a product of NFT time.

Lala-Rabbit has been slaying with their outfits. For clothing, approaching the same echelon as Stonemason for environments, Martin J Frost for flora and Alessandro for fauna.

Their characters are worth a look too - ever-so-slightly stylised and not much variety yet, but it would appear that they actually understand the form and physics of female chests.

I'd love to see them continue as they have been with historic and traditional clothing, and stretch themselves a little more with on character diversity. Probably my favourite PA right now.

Something about today's sale that I hope won't repeat - the need for a coupon code to get the featured artist store discount. If that becomes a thing, it could make coupons near redundant. It's already too difficult to use them with so many other parts of sales requiring codes.

  • TorquinoxTorquinox Posts: 4,338

@Ainm as far as I can tell, membership coupons are still not working. So maybe this extra code requirement is just for today?  No way to know for sure.

Am I missing something? Why would not fixing the membership coupons explain them choosing to run this sale in a worse way than normal? That's like a chef burning your steak and so he decides to also give you less potatoes on your plate (just for today). I'm not sure what reason there is to think they've temporarily started this bad thing due to the other bad thing

I'm only quoting this to make sure it's heard. I usually end up using the coupon for DO that allows Daz+ ASAP each month so it doesn't roll around to the end of the month unused.

    Thanks.

..I wonder if it works for them in Germany where every day ends in "-g" (except Wednesday which ends in "-h").

    Thanks.

Great advice if you have a cart it'll work on!

However, I can't think of a time it's gone to waste because I saved it for a theoretical "better" time later in the month and lost the gamble.

I have, however, had many months where I didn't have a single cart it would work on, due to 1. the sale required a code that gave a better discount, 2. the items weren't eligible (Outlet or QG, for example) or 3. I didn't hit the $$ threshhold to use it.

Kinda sad when in 30 days Daz didn't pop one single sale that inspired me to shell out $18 so I could use it, but apparently that's the way the cookie crumbles some months.

It's one of the reasons I'll likely be doing strategic timing membership months once my legacy membership period runs out. If I'm not even buying that much per month, and I can't get the membership at a good discount anymore, what's the point of throwing money at it?

LOL -- So for them it's a "day that ends in -g, or sometimes -h" situation.

(Which has me giggling remembering when Teen Kiddo first learned to recite the sequence of planets as a kid, and ended with "and-sometimes-Pluto, because Pluto is like the letter -y of the solar system.")

Does the Wishful discount only work if the item from your wishlist is not currently discounted? I'm not seeing an extra discount.

Sorry, this should've been posted at the other topic.

I'm noticing a trend of only having some special coupon (seems to be tied to debut new item) apply to older items with no other current discounts.

The other name for Saturday used in Germany - Sonnabend - ends in a -d. And in some regions of Germany pronounciation turns a -g into a -ch (like in a scottish Loch) which brings the Wednesday in line with the other days wink

For reference only, with the addition of 8 tokens, today's prices include five items at 98% off, another five at 89% off, and one new product triggering the discount, resulting in an average 80% off for the entire order of 11 items.

And no coupon code, so you can also do 5 at a time in multiple carts as long as you have tokens to spend and Wishful new releases you are interested in.

Also, the Wishful campaign stacks with the other three campaigns. So for example you could get a Wishful new release, a Beastly new release, and shop the Beasts & Creatures or Beastly Artists Stores categories for some extra stacking.

Interesting, I didn't expect there to be so many combinations for this kind of game. It's a pity the member discount code can't be used...

I don't remember it going so far into a month where the member coupons still had issues. If they fix it today and don't change up the other sales I might complete a cart.

I noticed the BEAST-MODE coupon from the Become a Beast sale partially works without its stated buy-in. (The cart takes the coupon no matter what for eligible items, and discount improves further with buy-in.) Seems lots of stuff is broken currently.
