Question about upgrading Filter Forge

Since I bought Filter Forge Pro 4 here through Daz and now ver 5 upgrade is on sale super cheap on their home site would my Serial # from here still work or would it be a completely new purchase? Is it possible to purchase the upgrade through Daz?

    I was able to upgrade, through their own site, using my Daz version - it even gave me a real user name for the upgrade.
