PostgreSQL Issue

I got a new laptop and installed DAZ on it the othr day, it ran fine that day. Everytime I go run it now, I get a PostgreSQL error, saying CMS connection could not be established. In DIM I can browse and install assets but the CMS icon is gray and won't start there either. Looking in DIM, I do see that it is installed. I've attached a pic of the error also.
Don't know if it matters but I am running Windows 11. I don't have any security software installed other than what came with Windows.
Any help would be appreciated.

PostgreSQL is mostly for smart content. The products can still be installed, but will only be available in the content library. Did you install PostgreSQL? It is a separate installer.
PostgreSQL is used for anything that relies on metadata - presets tabs in settings pane, Smart content, the products and categories containers in the Content Library pane, and the various type and group tags that appear on thumbnails.
Exactly what is DIM showing as installed? What security software ar you using? Is this a clean ionstall or did you copy across a database from the old system?
I did a fresh install from DIM of DAZ. I've attached a pic showing what DIM shows. I did not copy anything from the old laptop.
OK, if you open Task Manager (right-click on the Windows Task Bar and click More Details, then start DIM or DS do you see several entries for postgresql in the list of Background Processes?
No, I don't and i thought that odd because I do remember seeing that on my old laptop.
It may be worth uninstaslling/reinstalling PostgreSQL, but my prime suspect would be security software stopping it from even launching.
Ok, I'll give tht a try. And like I said, all I'm using right now is the basic Windows Security that comes with Windows. We'll see and I'll post a follow-up.
Thanks Richard.
In that case it's odds on that Windows Security has flagged the CMS as a Trojan/Randsomware and "Data Execution Prevention" (DEP) is blocking the CMS from running.
make sure you have a Connect Library folder definined in the content mager or CMS won't start
I ran into this problem myself
Even if you don't use Connect it still needs to be there for CMS to run.
Is anyone else here running DAZ on Windows 11?
I don't see anything in the logs to indicate it's being blockd in anyway.
most likely everyone.
Windows 10 will End Of Life (EoL) on October 14, 2025. So about 59 days left.
