The new "blender to Daz plugin"

Anyone tried this yet? it's kind of a big deal if it can just convert all FBX asset into daz with a few clicks and flawlessly retain most of its , material, texture and scale. these usually cause most headace if one wants do import them manually.  And the animation tool too, using blender to animate Daz asset is much faster and easier.

Also, does it work on alpha public build? so far 90% plugins and scripts are unusable in Aploha 6.25 build

    Yes, it looks interesting https://www.daz3d.com/blender-to-daz-studio-plugin

On this page it says: Compatible Software: Daz Studio 4.24

There suppose to be something on YouTube about it.

Have not tried, it does not support G2 so I lost interest fast, if it works as advertised it does look like it would be nice for people using later stuff, I guess we have to wait until someone tries it and see if it is any good. I would not have any interest going Blender->DS so I am fine with Diffeomorphic, it does all I need.

There is some tutorial on YouTube

but it is 11 months old.

I also put this in my wish list and came looking for reviews. Blender is a strange and mysterious place for me, but I've had it for years and been updating every now and then. I use it mainly to convert to Studio and find that textures and animation don't work. This would get me Matt Smiths TARDIS interior imported with textures and animation.

If it can do this model, I'd be a happy person.

I'd like to read the manual for this, I have a few questions that I doubt would be answered in a video. Can it export things generated by geometry nodes, or plant and environmental items that are instanced? Can you export a light from Blender to Studio that has it's shadows turned off and they *stay off* in Studio?

There is a newer demo of version 2, which covers the version in Daz store:

Version 3 of the plugin looks even better:

Blender to Daz version 3- hair export

Just wonder, if that version will come to Daz store, as well.

I think it may be a plugin I recently bought from a different marketplace, which reminds me me I still need to leave a review there. Dev is responsive and patched a bug I reported within a few days.

I bought it to test out the feasibility of transferring Blender scenery into Daz. As for does it do what it says? Yes, it does, with three caveats for my particular use case.

The first caveat is that most of the Blender scenes I tested didn't transfer iRay textures. That's not the plugin's fault. Instead, I learned that the number of Blender products that have PrincipleDBSDF shaders was a lot smaller than I'd hoped. But even for those products, you can transfer all the meshes, cameras and lights.

Second, most of the time the UVs on the products I tested were poor. That made it impossible to apply my own iRay shaders inside of Daz.

Third, many Blender scenes seem to often rely on particle systems to achieve their look in the Blender rendering engines. I think those are Blender specific.

On the whole, I found my issues to be with the quality of Blender products, but for those Blender products of a higher and more universal setup, yes it works and very well. And it's far quicker than baking materials in Boender manually and exporting meshes individually - both in the manual work needed and in the baking process.

Yes, I also think that version 3 is much better. Would be great to get some information about possibility of upgrade to it.

I bought the add-on on blendermarket when it was v2 (now superhivemarket...).  I find it's really worth the payment especially. for a content creator. I rarely send a scene I make in Blender to DS for rendering 'cause it's really unnecessary. Blender most of the time gives me much better render result.

So I still personally think it's more suitable for content creators. And on the product page https://www.daz3d.com/blender-to-daz-studio-plugin  it states it's the latest version of 3.5.39 which is as same as the one on superhive. I think it should be....

Yes, the product page says  "Blender to Daz Studio 3.5.39" directly under Details. But then, under "What's Included and Features" it says: Blender to Daz Studio Plugin 2.3.23.

    Some clarification would be good.

Looks interesting, though I would love to see the possibilities in Daz to Blender direction compared to Diffeomorphic, which is already quite good.

I always hoped that future generations of the Daz figures (e.g. G9) would be more Blender friendly, but good bridges will at least help to use Daz figures in Blender.

Yeah, I saw that... but I think they shouldn't sell an older verison in here ~~ Some Daz guy better corrects the info. there.

Thank you. I have not noticed version 3.5.39 on Daz store page.

I prefer to buy the plugin via Daz store.

if I one day can afford those KitBash3D sets, this could be useful for getting them into DAZ Studio

Nice to see a plugin that goes INTO DS and not the other way around

They have fixed it now, but I had a laugh earlier in the day when the below product was listed as a requirement. Not sure if it was a mistake, or a staff member added it as a joke.

So 3.5.39 is the most recent one, the product page said 2.3.23, and the real version is 3.4.34?  LOL, well it's almost the latest version.   ;)    Thanks for the update Artini.

    You are welcome, @SnowSultan

Hope Daz will update this plugin at some point.

But in its __init__.py file, it states the version of 3.5.39... as well as the verison in Preferences > Add-ons after installation.

I'm helping a friend with installation but the add-on failed to be activated in Blender 4.4 and 4.5. It only works with Blender 4.2 / 4.3 ... while the package from supervive works with Blender 4.4 / 4.5.

Have you made it with a successful installation ?

    These instructions are helpfull:

    How to Use

    1. Open Blender and switch to the 3D Viewport.
    2. Go to the "Daz Studio" tab on the right-hand side of the viewport.
    3. Add the Daz Studio executable by specifying the location of the Daz Studio application.
    4. Select the texture output folder to save the exported texture files.
    5. Ensure all materials use the PBR workflow with a BSDF shader.
    6. Select the objects you want to export from Blender. (if you want to select export)
    7. Click one of the "Selected" or "All" export buttons to export your selected objects, materials, and animations.

I have several of the Kitbash sets and it is an incredible pain to get them into Daz. I've pretty much given up. I also have some Evermotion sets that I would like to use in DS. If the import actually works...yay.
