Another Multi-GPU setup Question

Hi all, hope you are doing well.

I've stripped my PC down (I should of checked before hand) to clean and upgrade a few components (I'm using my laptop) and have searched to find out the information (to no avail).

I was wondering about a 3 card system, where one of the cards is a display only card for Windows and Daz (Ticked in Advanced settings).

1. If the window in Daz is set to Iray, does the display card only also kick-in to render?

2. The display only card (2080 Ti or a 3080 Ti the kettle) will go into a PCIe x8 port. Will this be a 3 legged donkey or usable? so just use the 2 cards in the 2 PCIe x16 ports and take the memory hit.

Any other tips will be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks in advance..

Currently running a 1080 TI to drive two monitors, 1920 X 1280 and running two 3060s for rendering. The 1080 is in slot 1 - no longer sure how the PCIe slots are configured on this beast - it's 10 years old, running Windows 10 with no current intent to force-feed Windows 11 on it.

If you do not tell Studio it is to use your display card it won't - ever.

Thanks namffuak for your input, I'm wondering my self if I should install Windows 10 or 11 on the main Sata SSD.
