Help with DIM

So I purchased from DAZ3d directly and downloaded items. Now when the DIM opens it shows all the things i already have in my library, that I have been using and creating with for weeks as needing to be downloaded again, even though they are in the library and can still be used. However the two new ones I just bought don't show any image just a dotted gree boarder, and then when I click on it they say File not found. This is NOT thirdparty content. Here is what DIM looks like when I closed it and reopened it.

It says you should install Daz Studio. So it seems that DIM fully has lost track of what you have installed.

Are you using default path for installation?

Have you done any changes to the manifest files?

Have you done other disk operations on your computer?

Beside that, I haven't used a Mac in 30 years, so there might be some speciality I am unaware of.

So yesterday I installed an installer that used to be for daz. Was it called Daz Connect or something like that? I was trying to figure out how to get third party content to work because everything I found said to use that. Then I found out it was out of date and no longer worked. I unistalled it, and everything went back to normal. I even purchased Daz offical content and installed it using DIM, then out of nowhere (literally, I had daz open when I made a quick run to the store, no one else in the house) I purchased two more sets, and tried to download and that image is what I came back to.

It was Daz Central, NOT connect.

Daz Central was a simplified version af DIM, and is no longer supported. If you tried to install it, it is possible that it has changed something in the settings.

If you open DIM, click the gear icon, go to advanced settings, and Installation tab. Does the settings there correspond to where it previously was installed?

You can attach an image of it if in doubt.

I have this glitch from time to time. If you click Refresh button in DIM, the items in the Ready to Download tab should be gone.

    Refreshing did not help.

If you go to where the manifest files should be, can you then see a number of manifest files IM00xxx?

And more specifically IM00013176xxx (Daz Studio)?

    Yes at the bottom.

When the manifest files are there DIM should know that these products are installed. Why they then come up as ready to download I don't know. Not something I can remember to have heard about before.

Does it mean anything that the icons are grey?

You can try to go into the log in DIM (in advanced settings) and see if there is something noted, although I have no idea if it will state if something is off..

It looks as if Stash is a special folder related to version control - I suspect you should not be using it as a path for anything.

STASH is my external hard drive. I really only want that to be for the third party content or finished files. I dont know how that would have changed. How do i fix it?

Then the  question about  greyed-out files remains - iit may be that you need different permissions on that folder. It certainly looks as if there is somethiing odd going on there.

Okay so I was just looking around at the content I just downloaded and it does say it was sent to STASH. So i followed it, and I am seeing a manifest file in there along with other folders like applications, that when I open it and follow the chain again I get to the file thats called My Daz 3d library that has lots of content in it. I'm not really sure what to do with this finding or if it will even solve the problem. Any ideas?

I did some digging yesterday and found a manifest file in my 3rd party content folder also an application folder. Would moving them to the correct location fix the problem? Also ddo you know what the correct location for Daz smart content should be and what it should look like. I'm afraid I messed up the whole program an am wondering if uninstalling and reinstalling the whole thing (DAz studio) is my only option, bu then will that even solve my problem because what about my current WIP projects and saved characters?

Uninstalling and reinstalling Daz Srudio will not change the content, so I don't see that as a solution.

It is the CMDB (database) that does Smart Content function.

I would say, you first need to get all the different path to match between Daz Studio, DIM and where the data actually is.

When that is in place, find out what is missing and look at that.
