First truly mad day of MM?

Whilst I personally have been luke warm to the MM discounts on older stuff so far (albeit I accept that the discounts for new stuff so far has been good), today blew that disappointment out of the water. I made my first significant purchases today (in money terms). and with various stacking discounts I picked up a lot of G2F/G2M characters and morphs sets for close to 90% off. This was all the more remarkable considering that almost all of that was PA items, not DO, so the 30% off DO's was not making a significant difference to that final price. Madness indeed.

just FYI it's Luke Warm, but Lute Warm sounds like if you handed a guitar player a lute to warm up with. I'm filing this away, for someone ever handing me a lute before a gig to practice my scales on, but for MM on Tuesday I picked up V7 and body face morphs and some expressions and a cocktail dress for like $16 so this is the first major Daz purchase I've made in some time and I'll probably keep checking for goodies.

Thanks for making me aware of this Havos. I saw the deal but didn't bother investigating it much, but after reading your post I see that the savings are too good to pass up laugh.

Hmmm might be going a bit overboard... currently got 16 items in the cart and still increasing.

I really wish with as time sensitive as these sales are, they'd get more staff to handle sales trouble tickets in a timely fashion. I got Callie 6 yesterday only to have her go on a far better discount today and I'd like to get the order redone so I can get more things while the sale is still going.

If you haven't already put in a support ticket and see if they can do something.

Already done. But it seems like there's only a handful of people to handle all the tickets (of all types) so I know there's like a 2-4 business day turnaround on them which is just painful during a sale like this where the situation changes daily.

Or even hourly as it seems most of the really good discounted items have been pulled from the 70% eligible category

Ok, I just loaded my cart up with about 20 items and the MM discounts were all displaying correctly. But then I removed an item and now loads of the items in the cart are no longer showing the 70% discount and I can't seem to get it back. Have some PAs suddenly left the MM deal? (eg Raw, Zev0, Raiya...).

I'm guessing Daz realized people were stacking discounts and pulled everybody who was in MM out of the 70% category

Damn it! Thats so annoying!! Just spent hours deciding what I wanted and now its all gone to hell. Well just for that, I'll buy nothing instead.

Blummin' bait and switch tactics! angry

  • Apolioges foir the error and for any frustration.  Our intent was definitely NOT for the 70% and MArch Madness to stack.  The 70% off was for items that we offered BETTER than MArch Mandess diuscounts on, not in additioon to March Madness discounts.

I guess today was a good time to actually check out early instead of waiting to see if any really good deals popped up.

Kinda figured. Still frustrating to see a sudden jump in price.

That's not discrimination at all. Sheesh.

Lol - if I'd just hit that checkout button 20 mins ago I would've been laughing. *sigh* such is life (well, my life anyway).

A fair correction to an unfortunate error. I usually feel bad when I get bargains due to mistakes, so I'm actually pleased I missed out on this.

Hey @DAZ_Steve , speaking of sale errors, why is it the creature creator add-ons for G2F are never on sale even when the G2M version is and the sale category covers/implies both male and female?

These "errors"have happened before. DAZ should have honored their commitments; but since they won't I'm not going to buy what I had planned.

I guess MM is over for me almost before it began.

Given they've done sales with short windows before (something like 2-4 hours) they've had timezone complaints in the past.

Yes, exactly - for the sake of fairness and equality amongst all their customers they should've stuck by their mistake and let it ride for the rest of the day. I know this would've meant some crazily low prices for some PAs, which is not particularly fair to them either, but this was Daz's mistake; not ours. As it is, I guess we just treat it as an insane flash sale that we missed out on.

I'm more annoyed about all the time I wasted on the site sifting through deals that weren't real frown

I'm not talking about time zone complaints I'm talking about items being pulled midstream because sales stacked / overlapped. This is far from the first time!

Sorry, should have a quote from the post above yours, I didn't mean this as a reply to your post about errors, but rather Tl155180's about it being discriminatory based on the time it occured.

I sympathise with those that missed out on some of the deals available earlier in the day, I am glad I checked out when I did. I often check out at the end of the day in case any new deals arrived, but I doubted much would come up that could improve a 90% off deal. Maybe I should rename the thread "First truly mad HALF day of MM"

Yes, and you're right. I personally don't like the tactic of flash sales for that exact reason. I'm against anything that favours one group of customers over another.

True. I mean, if your house is flooding due to a burst pipe you'd normally turn the stop tap off as soon as possible. But if you've inadvertently watered the neighbour's vegetable patch then you ought to let it keep flowing until it reaches the guy further down the road. Because fairness and equality.

Cute but not a very apt analogy wink

And while a store can't be forced to honor a mistake in a sale, most of the time they refuse to stand by it because the mistake is way out of line from the kind of sales they normally have.  In this case, it seemed right in line with the kind of sale they ran just before MM started where discounts were stacked all over the place.

True. Not a very apt analogy! This was supposedly an advertising "error" which most stores will generally honor if for no better reason than to maintain good customer relations.

And I would feel more sympathetic if this was a first time thing; BUT its not. It is beginning to feel a lot like "Bait and Switch" around here.

To me the choice is simple: DAZ can either honor their original sale and reinstate the items OR I will shop somewhere else.

"70% OFF featured Genesis 2 compatible characters with the purchase of any newly mad items or still mad items."

That's been the line in the promotion box for this sale all day (and now it's accurate, LOL). Can't use the advertising angle, it's not apt.

So instead of getting a $100 order, you will get nothing from me.   Thanks a lot Daz for wasting over an hour of my life shopping for items, only to have you change the sale mid way through.
