...if you are asking about the base Cat Zeus, yes.
Not sure of the different breed options work with the original Cat Zeus that was once sold here a few years ago. I have the original and a couple of the breed morphs before the PA left, but not any of the more recent ones.
..."get your kicks on page 66"
The breeds do work with the original DAZ version. I have the Burmese, the Siamese, and the kitten from Renderhub.
...thank you. I remember after he PA left here I beleive only the new Cat Mars was available. Wishlisted the oned I don't have.
Really hoping for a Manx as it is not just a cat without a tail, but some have a small "nub" and the physique (particularly the hindquarters) is different (I used to have one).
I thought that wasn't available for a reasonable price anywhere. But lots of people do it. Maybe it is somehow reasonable. Or maybe some people spend their money on that instead of the $300 vacuum I've been looking at for the last few days.
I bought Mars and the Savannah character when they were at Renderosity. It's basically the same cat, but the fur is silver and it's not dForce. I read that you can edit the files to make Mars' characters usable on Zeus, but I haven't tried it.
A Manx character would be a good idea.
...the neighbourhood Safeway is three blocks down the street from me so no point in paying extra for delivery. I usually do "European style" shopping for a few days rather than stock up for a several weeks as I don't have much storage space in my studio's tiny kitchen.
Also not thrilled about letting someone else pick my groceries, particularly bakery, produce, meats, and fish.
I don't know if that post went where it was intended, but it reminded me of a complaint I have. Years ago, I thought I was buying this dress for DAZ characters. This was also at Renderosity. And it turned out I bought the texture for the dress instead of the dress. A dress no longer available at Renderosity. I then found out the artist had moved to DAZ, making it impossible to buy the dress without spending money at the DAZ store (which I was vehemently against at the time).
Later, I forgot all about this, saw the textures again, and again thought I had the dress, only to be disappointed and realize it was just a texture. Yesterday, it happened for perhaps the third time. I saw these textures and thought I had this dress. I saw in the DAZ store that the dress was available for $4.50. So I bought it so I can stop thinking I have this dress, and really have it.
I bought a box of Kix on Route 66.
...
I never used delivery service actually. But I see many folks getting deliveries around the apartment complexes in my area even though we have two King Soopers (soon to be three), had a Safeway (now closed), Whole Foods, and a Super Target in easy walking distance and with bus service. And of course Amazon deliveries from online. (I had to use that one time for two bottles of a spice that used to be sold at Whole Foods, but was pulled to Amazon Fresh. The delivery charge was two-thirds more than the price of the spice!) Our local news station has documented the substitution of higher price items for requested store labeled products, which would make me avoid this service. My flatmate used to be a chef and run restaurants and can take basic items and create full meals from scratch. I just have to lay in the stocks. I did it during Covid and when the tariffs kicked in. There are Wal-Marts around, but generally dangerous to shop at (gun fights between gangs) and a Costco about 20 minutes from me.
Unfortunately we also have a small apartment-sized refrigerator/freezer, pantry, and hardly any kitchen cupboards. My bookcases are now our combined kitchen equipment storage in the dining area. Take two older adults who both love to cook/bake and merge their kitchens together and you get a lot of stuff. I also shop at the military Commissary, but have to drive 40 minutes each way for that.
I get most of my canned and boxed goods (non-perishables) via Amazon, and since I am subscribed to Amazon Prime, I get a lot of shipping "free", or at reduced cost, which makes it a no-brainer for me to buy in quantity (often at a significant savings of the cost in local stores) and have it delivered to my door. I get my soups, canned vegetables, canned fruits, canned stew, canned corned beef hash, baked beans, tuna, salmon via "flats" (i.e. 1/2 carton), so either 8 or 12 cans at a time. That, saves me making too many expensive or exhausting/painful trips to a proper grocery. I try to keep at least a three month's supply of some sort of foods available at all times and restock up to the 6 month point when cash is handy. Local grocery shopping is for mostly perishables. i.e. Bread, eggs, milk, pastry, salad greens, meat, fresh fruit & vegetables. And although I too have a small refrigerator w/small freezer, in a small kitchen with limited counter space, I have oodles of cabinet space above the sink & stove, going all the way to the top of the tall ceiling. So high that I have to use a ladder or at least a long "grabber" to place or retrieve cans on or above the 2nd of three shelves. I also have a "pantry" composed of two scavanged metal storage shelves placed in a corner. They hold my daily needs goods, i.e. coffee, creamer, jello, drink mix, plastic freeze-tainers, paper plates & bowls, pots & pans, cereals, condiments, pickles, V8 Juice cans, etc. Also, my "pantry" also holds about 20 boxes of computer parts & tools piled high on the top shelf of one, and the top shelf of the other holds my seldom used casserole dishes measuring time with the thickness of the layers of dust on them. At some points during the year I have about 5 or 6 flats of cans holding the center floor down in my tiny corner pantry and have to lean over them to get to my pantry shelves until their contents get rotated into the cabinet shelves.
Hi, my name is LG and I'm a food hoarder.
I got food deliveries from Walmart. Last nigh5 they forgot all the cold food so I had to reorder it. Unfortunately I could not get hot cocoa mix yet.
...yeah I have so little cabinet space I use the dishwasher to store plates, cups, and empty storage containers Being I live by myself there is little point is using it to wash dishes as hand washing the few I use for a meal is faster plus use less water and soap. I also have things you should never put in a dishwasher like cast iron cookware fragile glasses and my French press.
I like to joke that my kitchen is not much larger than the forward galley on a Boeing 737.
non-complaint: The frozen water has reduced sufficiently that although some people are still in a significant amount of danger, the kids and I are possesed of enough privilige that we could go for a (precautions-laden) walk. The weather was frigid and bleak, but it was so glorious to just be out of the house that we didn't even care.
Hopefully as the weather warms things will get even safer, but that whistle's going to be a permanent accessory for both Teen Kiddo and me. And I think I need to get them a cell, finally... it was always redundant before because they're always with an adult who has one, but I'd feel better with that extra level of safety. They know if anyone tries to mess with us, their job is to run for it, and not having a cell once they get clear would be... well, bad. Obviously one hopes it will never come to that, but... well, one hopes a lot of things that life doesn't always courteously provide.
Is this one cat or two? I saw these meme on Facebook.
Clearly at least one cat plus another unknown creature.
I took a test andit is negative. I guess it is just a regular cold bug.
non-complaint: It got up to 50 degrees today!!
complaint: ...which means of course Little Dude's sleep schedule shifted so he woke at sunset, and now he's big upset that we have to wait until it's light out to go for a walk. And he's not going to be thrilled that it'll only be about 4 degrees above freezing when that comes around... although at least no wind predicted, so that should help. Wind blowing over a frozen lake before it hits you is not the fun kind of wind.
Fahrenheit, I hope.
I don't think 122 f would be nice weather. I could be wrong.
Even in August we don't get 50C, though 100F / 38C happens on occasion. We have a 130+ degree (F) temperature range Minnesota. (And that's not counting either windchill or humidity, which can add another 10+ degrees on the upper end and another 30+ on the lower end.) Ma Nature likes to keep things interesting around here,
...it was 51° in my old college town of Stevens Point In Central Wisconsin. Tomorrow it will be 52°with lows still below freezing. Next Monday a mini "heat wave" when it will reach 69° so break out the shorts, flip-flops, and Hawai'ian shirts. Two days later it will be back ri a heavy coat, scarf, gloves. and snow shovel as winter returns.
This (along with the summer humidify and mosquitoes) is why I left the "tundra country" for the soggy but milder Northwest 46 years ago.
Heh... the week I was in the Portland area for a vacation taught me I wasn't made for the Pacific NW. It was so nice! And then it was nice. And then it was nice! And then the sky opened up and drooled a bit. And then it was nice! It made me twitchy. Surely the other shoe was going to drop soon; weather is never that consistently lovely for that long... nope! I was told that was just what to expect.
I'm not sure I'd know what to do with myself without thunderstorms and blizzards and sweltering sauna-like heat and temperatures that will freeze exposed flesh in less than five minutes. Sometimes in the same week.
Could live without the mosquitoes though. Wouldn't miss that.
...indeed, the mosquitoes. After spending an evening outside at the end of a nice summer day I felt like I was down a pint or so .
It was foggy but pleasant out on the commute this morning. Temperature of 9 degrees
It was also 48 degrees too.
Hmm. Specifying unts is useful. So here goes.. It was 517.6 degrees Rankine this morning. Very pleasant.
Regards,
Richard.
...what is that in Kelvin?
Not too many people know that Rankine is the absolute version of Farenheit, same as Kelvin is the absolute version of Centigrade. Impressed.
Anyway, 282 degrees Kelvin.
Regards,
Richard
I've been to Portland a couple of times. First time was in the late '80s, attending a UNIX conference. Wandered that famous downtown market area in the city. Our hotel was in that area. Made a side trip with fellow company engineers out to the top of Mt. Hood. On a separate day, the UNIX conference had arranged a field trip w/buses out into the mountains for a fresh salmon feast for attendees.
Upon arriving, the guests were greeted with a line of handsome men dressed in Medieval Middle Eastern, palace wear, who were introduced to us as the event's "UNIX eunuchs".
The second time in Portland was on my motorcycle trip around the country in the summer of '95, starting from Wash. DC. Stayed in a small rundown hotel downtown. Played pool in a small leather bar there. Pool table was on the 2nd floor loft. The bar had a tradition that if a pool ball was hit too hard and skipped off the table, the shooter had to yell "BALL" so that the inebriated patrons at the bar in the target area below had a chance to move.
I had to duck once that night.
The weather both times was fantastic. However, on the motorcycle trip, I was coming down from northern British Columbia (almost to the Yukon) where I had just been riding through an entire day of drizzley rain that left me, my leathers, and my underwear soaked. (Biker's bad weather mantra: Once your underwear is wet, there's no reason to stop.) I had had to stay in Vancouver, BC for two days while my leathers dried out, before continuing on to Portland and points south, down the California coast road
, heading for San Francisco and my side-trip flight to Sydney, Australia. Best summer of my life.
Portland was also where I think I lost 1/3 of my hearing while visiting, just visiting, a night spot with EXTREMELY loud music, for a few minutes. All the old people (older than 25) were huddled in the room farthest away from the dance floor, yelling at each other trying to have a conversation.
I dreamt I had an alien baby.
