Depends, if the contest is properly cooked I'm willing to have a go. Not sure I could eat a whole one though

No.  But I find it interestring to see how capable, adaptable and resilient the human body is, when testing its limits, and how different people's bodies can react when subjected to the same things.  This guy has alledgedly eaten "bicycles, shopping carts, televisions, beds and a Cessna 150, among other items":

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michel_Lotito

This sounds odd, though: "Lotito also had digestive juices that were unusually powerful, meaning that he could digest the unusual materials."

I thought I lost an AirPod.  I tried the find my app on my iPad.  It kept beeping as if they were near, but I could not see them.  Then I thought of checking my pants' pockets.  Found the case with both AirPods in them.

I went to CVS to pick up some photo prints.  Mainly my dad's pictures from the recent visit.  I took 4 different pictures of him, but he only took one.

I find them revolting, on many levels... especially considering so many people and animals on this planet are food insecure or literally starving to death.

Why can't we have contests to see who can provide quality food to the greatest number, instead of making a contest and glorifying the efforts of one person to over-consume the greatest amount beyond what they need?

it looks like she is feeding them french fries, thats not good for a cat, they are simply eating it because they are starving, but it will kill them. she might as well feed them poison. what a stupid woman.

    Incorrect. https://cats.com/can-cats-eat-french-fries

Though they might cause digestive issues, and eating a very great quantity could cause sodium poisoning if heavily seasoned (although as the article says, this is unlikely), but they are not toxic. And, let's face it, strays are probably already scavanging fries off discarded or dropped fast food.

Agreed that there are better foods to offer than fries, though.

that cats.com blog article is in the context "if my cat accidentally ingests a single french fry, do I have to rush it to the vet?" no, of course not, but french fries are toxic to cats, the author of that article is misinformed.

    1) potatoes contain solanine, it is concentrated in the skin of the potato, but it is in the entire potato as well

    2) solanine is only reduced through cooking, it is not entirely removed. Through deep frying it is only reduced by 40%

    3) cats are more sensitve to solanine than humans

So yes, french fries are toxic to cats, especially in the context of purposely feeding cats a meal of french fries!

Furthermore, the youtube channel in question shows the owner of the channel proudly proclaiming, "look at me feeding these starving kitties". This is a really bad precedent, making it seem ok to feed french fries to cats. The reality is that cats are attracted to the smell of french fries because most deep fryers in restaurants are also used to cook chicken and/or fish as well, so the oil and hence the french fries pick up the scent of the meat which the cat craves.

So sure, if a cat eats a single french fry it will probably not die, but french fries are toxic to cats. They provide no nutritional benefit to a cat. And when thrown down as a meal for them as this lady did, this is a deadly way to feed cats. Even if they don't die from solanine poisoning, they could easily get pancreatitis and/or start vomiting since they are not meant to eat carbs, they need meat, they are carnivores, they are not like dogs, who are basically omnivores and have evolved to digest carbs.

I went to the post office to finally mail out my stepdad's Father's Day card.  I thought we were going to meet before now, but that has not happened.

i asked for a book of stamps.  She gave me them and requested that I put a stamp on the card for my stepdad.

Years ago, my husband & I volunteered at the Florida Aquarium. At feeding time the sharks begged for their food like they were dogs*. It was hilarious & a little pathetic.

*No, it wasn't training or a show, this was all behind the scenes.

I'm so sorry for both you and the deer! I'm glad you're okay and hope you can avoid any after-effects. And that the repairs are... well, car repairs are always a blow to the pocketbook. So I'll say "easily recovered from" because it opens the door for some pleasant windfall to cover them.

Was it an APC?  You can be paid for your loss if it was.  They're very good, I've never had a problem with them, except when the battery can't be charged anymore...then I need to get another.  Although, sometimes they'll send another battery.

..thanks found it.  Used to be a bit different.

Yeah, have enough to keep me busy for a whole as with G9 getting all the attention  these days, my purchasing has pretty much fallen off significantly. (I say that then Stonemason will release another one of his incredible sets).

Made one last pass through the outlet store for good measure before my "bonus" Daz+ week expires and came up with 5 useful 1.99 items.

    So, calling it a day.

Non complaint.  I went to a charity and found some Monet greeting cards.  He was like a painter.  I might share some with my mum.

...some get him and Manet mixed up as they are contemporaries of each other with similar sounding first names and art styles..

Monet outlived Manet by 35 eyars.

I saw in time that I had a coupon for free chicken strips from Chick-fil-A.  Yesterday I scheduled rides and the 4 trips became 3.

I think I was asked to go tomorrow, but I can't use the free coupon tomorrow.  It had to be today.  Fortunately it worked out.

Tomorrow won't be a good day to go to Chick-fil-A.

Just had a thunderstorm, which is not unusual we get a lot of them here, but what was unusual was that i got a shock from my keyboard when lightning struck nearby. That never happened before. The monitor blinked also at the same time, which is quite common, but I've never been shocked by my keyboard during a storm, which is a USB keyboard with rubberized keys. I have an expensive UPS too and everything is plugged into that, so the PC didn't crash or shutdown, but the shock from the keyboard meant that the surge went through my UPS, through my PC, through my USB port and still managed to give me a shock from a plastic and rubberized keyboard. I guess the capacitors in the MOBO absorbed the jolt.  It was no small shock either, like I saw and felt the spark at my fingertip and jumped back. I unplugged everything immediately. And I backed up my hard drives as soon as the storm ended. But now I am worried that it has done some damage to my PC or components. It wasn't even a big storm, just one of those in the background storms, and I felt safe to keep working. If my computer dies in the next few weeks I will be pissed. I can't afford this right now.
