Be as mad as you want.

I still have Anger/Hate/Despise Issues with the Stupidist Nutritionist Ever, after 30 years, when we were doing WIC. ur 8 month old son had just had surgery for a congenital GI issue and I was pregnant with our second. And the fool wench got even stupider after our daughter was born.

ETA: you've got a good plan! So glad we only had to deal with such things for a few years, since our son's condition was a physical one that just required some replumbing so to speak.

Holy beans. That's really when you need people to know what they're on about. Who has time and energy to educate the supposed experts at a time like that?? I'm glad it wasn't a long term thing for him (or you), but still!

@Butterflyfish Thanks, fingers crossed. I sent the email right around end of business day, so we'll see how things go tomorrow. But at least I no longer have that awful trapped feeling, and that's really the worst part.

On the bright side, my day may have been a dumpster fire of stress, but Little Dude had a cheerful one. Only a couple meltdowns in the morning, and for most of the day he's been giggling, practicing saying "baby bumblebee" (harder than you'd think!) and making buzzing noises. (Yay Ms. Rachel videos!) And when his diaper ripped down the seam at one side, he came running over to me, clutching it together with one hand - "Uh oh! Woah! Na na leak!"

At one point he would've just ripped it the rest of the way off and peed everywhere, so... hey! It may not be toilet trained, but "no leaks" is progress!

Update: I got re-assigned, and the person I emailed asked for a quick call so she could find out what happened and hopefully prevent it from happening to anyone else in future. She was great to work with, and seemed genuinely apalled at his behavior, so here's hoping for positive change for others.

Just bought a new mouse.  It will come tomorrow.  I didn't get the extended warranty on it though.

I am glad to read this. And also that your Little Dude had a fun day.

We probably should have done the same but we didn't have the spoons, as our now grown daughter says.

That must be a huge relief. Glad it worked out for you.

Totally understandable. You have to triage your energy, and there are some battles that just aren't worth the effort it takes to fight them.

I think in this case and for me and how my brain/emotions/PTSD works, taking the time to chat with her and know the jerk in question will get called out for his behavior was a smaller spoon investment than not having the conversation, but knowing that it was going to keep popping up and circling me.

There's a complement to spoon theory I read about, called fork theory. Where spoons is about how much energy you have to expend, the fork theory goes that everything that's troubling you is a fork. Some forks are big forks, and some are little cocktail forks, but eventually enough forks get stuck in you, and you're done. So the goal is to assess the forks that're stuck into you and see which ones you have the spoons to remove, in the hope that it'll both make life more comfortable and allow you to have more spoons at your disposal. Maybe the only fork you can reach is the "I have to pee" fork, but at least you've done /something/ to improve your situation.

This was a fork I could remove.

And you got it out by being classy! I hope that satisfaction gains you an extra spoon or 2. :)

A new way to look at things. That wench was only a fork on a miniature dollhouse table, looking back, when we had 3+ other forks, the smallest belonging to a fancy grilling set.

Complaint:  Husband started physical therapy. Last 2 sessions his blood pressure dropped really low. At Tuesday session they took him over to ER. There have probably been other episodes in the past few weeks in hindsight. He left a message for his doctor at the VA Wednesday. They have 24 hours to get back to a patient. Nothing, so he called the Advocate. Not sure if he couldn't get through or if they haven't gotten back to him.

(Micro) complaints: 1. I did a thorough cleaning of fridge last week. Monday or Tuesday I put an opened bag of frozen blueberries into the fridge compartment to thaw so I could make a cobbler. Even though I put that bag into another bag, it leaked. I had to reclean the bottom shelf, 1 crisper, & the bottom of the fridge. I despise cleaning.

    2. Our doggos are taking turns trying to push one or the other of us off the bed.

That's scary about your husband! I hope you he gets good care soon.

Ugh about cleaning the fridge, though. Fridge cleaning is the woooorst. (Although at least my current fridge has glass shelves. Previous one had wire shelves, and inevitably whatever leaked, did it on the top shelf... so it hit everything and coated all the wires on the way down. But I still hate cleaning the glass ones.)

I use the dishwasher to clean as much as possible to clean the fridge.  I think it is about time to clean fridge again soon.

My new mouse came in.  It has bluetooth ability so I don´t need to use the dongle.  That is cool because dongles can get broken.  That is what I learned from my history of mouse dongles.

...speaking of computer mice, need to get a new mouse pad as the one I have is falling apart. Looked on Amazon  but I also read the reviews, particularly the negative ones. Most of the inexpensive pads are reported to give off an offending chemical smell which doesn't go away with time (don't want that particularly with winter coming when the windows are shut).

Just need a plain black or dark blue one that is wasy to keep clean and has no imagry on it. I do like the tempered glass ones but they are pricey.

Not sure if this idea will help your needs.  You could go to dollar tree or walmart and get a cheap fat quarter of fabric.  I use that instead of an offical mousepad.

I can show pictures later.  I prefer my iPad camera over my webcam for the desktop.

Oh.  I wish I could could use my walmart plus membership to order you something.  But it might be easier for you to order something online?

    Solidarity.

The coating on the top of my assemble-a-desk  is flaking off (five heavy years of use and it was pretty cheap in the first place) and to slow the decline I've been trying to find one of the kind that's not raised at all, as my actual space for mousing is far smaller than a standard mousepad size. And it needs to be non-skid or it'll just keep falling off. So far, no love.

Complaint: Recently, my computer has been experiencing issues, which has been frustrating. All I wanted was to dive into a virtual reality experience, but instead, I was met with a series of technical hiccups. Programs began malfunctioning and crashing, leaving me feeling completely exasperated. In an attempt to resolve the issues, I decided to strip everything back to its bare essentials. I meticulously removed all recent additions and updates, embarking on a thorough troubleshooting journey to determine what was causing the issue.

Complaint: Windows 11 can be pretty harsh in certain situations, often presenting challenges that users may not expect or find difficult to navigate.

NON-Complaint. Solutions can often arise from unexpected sources. Recently, I examined several of my devices and discovered that many of them could be updated to a new BIOS version, which would resolve the issue. After completing the BIOS update, I found that everything was functioning smoothly. One of the highlights was getting my Quest 3 VR headset to work seamlessly. I successfully integrated all the components and software I had installed on my machine, and I'm pleased to report that everything is stable and operating as it should. This experience has reminded me of the importance of keeping firmware up to date for optimal performance.

...yeah not looking forward to Win 11 from what I have been reading over the months.  Sounds worse in some ways than 10.

That said, life on 7 is getting more and more precarious. Not sure how much longer I can hold out as the finances are just not there to perform the necessary physical upgrades to my 13 year old system.

I love Windows 11 and love it better than Windows 10.  Not sure why, but it seems to be an unpoplular opinion.

My Walmart order has been delayed.  It is for two more mainstrays cereal keepers.  Apparently I need more types of cereal to eat at one time.

I got a coffee value pack using the coupon from the delayed order.  I am so glad this pack does not come with blueberry coffee.  If I want blueberry coffee, I have a blender and I can put blueberries and coffee in it.  I do not care for the blueberry coffee pods.  when I use it, I combine it with hot cocoa powder. This one has 10 hot chocolate pods. I hope the colombian coffee tastes great.  If not, I can add hot cocoa powder to it.

edit I got the cereal keepers with Walmart cash that I earned from an order paid with ebt.  The coffee was able to be paid with ebt.

The computer I bought on eBay with the RTX 3090 GPU (https://www.ebay.com/itm/405917733389\) arrived damaged in shipping but I was able to get it working. It has Windows 11 Pro. At first I really hated Win 11 but now that I am getting used to it I am beginning to like it. It definetely will have a a learning curve especially if you are moving from Windows 7.

..thank you for the heads up. . I'm, expecting to do a fair bit of growling and snarling when I set things up.

On my upgrade proposal I included a DVD of WIn11 Pro (OEM)  so I can do a full clean install (without needing to ope n an MS account) and hopefully remove as much feature "rubbish" as I can and hopefully fine tune updating.  I figure if I can "nip in the bud" as much as I can of what I don't need or want, it may work more to my liking. I also found a third party utility that would give it a classic Win7 desktop. ;-)

Some things like Task Manager, Administrative Tools, and other such utilities I'll just have to get used to I guess.

I actually cancelled my Amazon Prime membership. It was a little harder to let go than the Daz+ membership. Some years ago, they introduced the ability to share the free two-day shipping with other people. Then some days ago, they announced that they would end that, and replace it with the ability to share free two-day shipping only with other people who live in the same household. And they introduced an ad display method that, in my opinion, makes the videos included in the membership unwatchable. So I saw no reason to renew.

I’ve noticed since cancelling it that there are some items they sell at a higher price without the prime membership. One item I was looking at doesn’t have an “add to cart” button anymore. It’s been replaced with a “join prime” button.

LibreOffice insists that I’m spelling “cancelled” and “cancelling” wrong. I’m not going to change it

    Two L = English

    One L = American

You can set up multiple dictionaries in Open Office [Tools- Spelling - Options] so you can add English variants if you so wish.

non-complaint: Little dude is running around the house, joyfully trying out different pronunciations of the word "Seventeen" and giggling his backside off. For all his screams could wake the dead, his laughter is the sort that it's impossible not to smile. Always has been. Today's been a good day for him even though we haven't been able to make it out for a walk for a couple days due to heat -- and tomorrow's supposed to hit 90, so that's not looking good either. (I miss our morning walks, but his current wakeup time is after noon.)

Disconnect from the internet, then bring up the Command Prompt with Shift + F10 when you reach the login to account part, and type OOBE\BYPASSNRO. This will bypass the part where you have to sign in with an account.

    :D

He has since moved on to something that is either "big" or "pig" or both. (He's across the room, facing the other direction, his tablet is going, and I'm tired enough that it takes me a moment to catch things, so the ambiguousness is probably a me problem.) I'm uncertain if he realizes they rhyme?  He might, and that might be why he's saying them. It's a concept he's been exposed to, but he might just like the way they sound, or how they feel when he says them. (He ran around chanting "purple Peppa Pig" for two hours at one point a couple weeks ago.) Or maybe there's something with "big pig" on one of his videos? It's hard to tell when you can't just ask a question and get an answer.

But whatever the reason, he's talking, and he's still giggling his rump off, so I'll take it.
