I think they're doing that thing again. The one where they keep making new orange banners so, no matter how many times you click it away, it's still there. Well I'm not going to eat the banner. And I'm not going to like it. Okay maybe this time, but only because it's already shoved down my throat.

The stars aligned for me today to score some stuff I've been waiting on for quite a while, so I admit... I ate the banner. And liked it.

I prefer DS over AI because AI seems so stupid.  I want Tara to put her paw on the vole's tail.

So, earlier this morning whilst perusing the forums on my iPad, I accidentally touched a strange hieroglyph that opened up a magical text box to a wonderous new entity by the name of "Victoria"... being that we both share the same root name (Victor), I figured this Victoria must be a truly wonderful being... after all if popular culture is any indicator, anyone named Victor is either a mad scientist or a Russian mobster... Right there before me was the future of internetdom... so with my curiosity piqued and my expectations in a small Tupperware container, I proceeded to engage with the well trained (presumably meaning she doesn't bite people or mess carpets) "Victoria" and her promises of assistance or something like that...

This is my short, but enlightening experience with the future of forumdom and question asking...

I'm not entirely disappointed, because as I mentioned earlier, my expectations were well contained within a Tupperware container made of late 60s polyethylene, which we all know was designed to survive a nuclear holocaust... so my expectations remained unharmed (but they did smell like old Lasgna)... (remember to throughly check that the dishwasher has done a reasonable job cleaning your Tupperware before placing your expectations inside)... I guess I should have tried asking Victoria about electrovisual simulations of three dimensional objects within the confines of a software based environment or something like that, but I was giddy with the prospect of the future of question asking and virtual beings that can assist us in our every query and postulation.

But alas... my enthusiasm was quickly dissipated much like the enthusiasm of two overly friendly canines on the front lawn engaged in activities not approved for general audiences who are subject to the cold water from the hose of a disapproving spectator.

Anyway... I have no idea how long that hieroglyph has been there of if perhaps everyone on the forums has been replaced by AI representations of forum users and this was all an AI hallucination, because I'm now an algorithmic representation of some weirdo who dresses hamsters up in period costumes to have them reenact famous historical battles from Ancient Greece (the WW2 maritime battles got too expensive with the increase in the price of steel... you'd be surprised at how expensive a hamster scale aircraft carrier can be... and forget about the carrier based aircraft... hamsters are terrible pilots and crash them continuously... they are almost as bad as chihuahuas at flying)...

Anyway, anyway... I guess I have stuff to do and you all probably have virtual representations of forum user stuff to do too, so I should probably end this rambling post with an appropriate closing salutation...

    Buh-bye peeps.

"For our creative 3D projects, we offer powerful modeling and rendering capabilities through Daz Studio, Hexagon, and Carrara."

Victoria forgot Bryce ... (I do have Studio, Hexagon and Carrara - and also Bryce).

The "Minimum price after discount: $2.99" is probably the final nail in the coffin for me in this store. I can get it for newer releases, i'm all in for that. But storewide? On older stuff you don't even need to stack discounts to get to 2.99 and the actual discount is bellow even 70%, much less the advertised base 80%.

And if you can't stack much discounts, then DAZ+ / Premier become less interesting, a LOT less interesting.

I was just thinking about you, McGyver!  I thought something happened, you've been away for some time.  Entertaining, as usual.

I think it is bed time.  I hope I dream of the King of Rubber Duckies (who might look similar to my bf).

I found some blue peeps in the pantry.  Somehow 2 of then went missing without a trace.  No sign of the missing 2 anywhere.

Oh, I was having fun with copilot ai discussing the missing of the two peeps and about rubber duckies.  Not sure why, but I want a rubber ducky now!

Are there any 3D models of a rubber ducky that can be used in DS?

Peeps do keep forever, don't they? I've got one on a shelf that I bought in April of 2000. It's a bit dusty.

Complaint: I've a friend who lives just down the road from the Peeps factory in Pennsylvania, but there are no factory tours. Boo.

The Rockies lost their 100th game tonight, but at least they gave it a shot.

complaint: I opened and shut the fridge door three times, trying to recall what I'd come into the kitchen for, before I remembered that the intent was to unload the dishwasher.

complaint: The sun doesn't come up for two more hours, and Little Dude is running up and down the hallway because he wants to go for a walk. I'm glad that he gets excited for walks. It's nice to know he enjoys them that much. But two hours for a kid who has no concept of time may as well be an eternity (for everyone involved).

non-complaint: It's nice that we're back on dawn walks. The temperatures are better, so I'm not fried and soaked in sweat by the time we get home. Supposed to be down into the low 40's by the end of the week!

If it's a plastic duck for a bath: there are several freebies over at Renderosity. Here is one https://www.renderosity.com/freestuff/items/79920/rubber-duck

When my wife & I went on honeymoon we landed in LA and needed supplies from a supermarket for the camper. We were new to the place and went down every aisle so as not to miss anything. We didn't, but we did came across 'Rubber Ducky' as a brand of prophylactic, and rather goggled at this. I won't suggest one of those. Oh, we also found in Australia that 'Durex' is a brand of sticky tape, unlike in the UK.

There's a new one! Did a Google... apparently they were around in the late 1980's, and the National Museum of American History at the Smithsonian has a package, though they're not on display. Apparently the goal was to make them seem cool and hip to the younger set, to encourage use, with the thought that at the time the kids who were coming of age for such things was the first generation that had grown up on Sesame Street.

    So there's a thing I learned today.

Non-complaint:  Yay!  My symphony buddy called up the other day and suggested breakfast this morning.  Wheee..., a cheap half-day out, no Uber charges.yes  It's 7:10AM and I'm dressed & ready, but he's a late riser and won't be here until nearly 10:00AM.  Temperature outside now is in the 40s(F) and it's after Labor Day so it's time for blue-jeans & flannel shirts again.  Although by noon it will be in the high 60s.  And it's that time of year to remove the air-conditioner from the bedroom window.  Didn't hardly use it this year.  Maybe only 5 or 6 days for a few hours.

Complaint:  House maintenance man (neighbor in other half of house) still hasn't finished the shingling of the roof.angry  Nor has he mowed the lawn but about twice this summer.  Perhaps he's doing some sort of agricultural experiment?  At least he's trimmed the overgrown trees brushing the front of the house, and fixed my plumbing.  He & his family disappeared over the 3-day Labor Day weekend & didn't end up a traffic statistic.  And he's cleaned up the enclosed front porch of this house.  Previous tenants used it for storage, but now it's been turned into a furnished room again.  Unfortunately I don't get to enjoy it, nor even see through its exterior windows to the outside facing the street.  Strange layout.indecision  My livingroom has two windows that look into the enclosed front porch but I have no access to it.sad  The windows on my side have blinds that have been closed for 18 years but sounds come right through the glass.frown  It was OK when the porch was used as storage but now that it's used for living, I don't want to hear my neighbor's conversations and noisy kid-play.  Nor do I want to be overheard yelling at my TV (my words get quite salty), which I do on a frequent basis, especially when I am watching You-Tube cop-cam videos of really stupid traffic offenders or drunk bar patrons practicing their skill-less & belligerent social behavior, just begging to be tased!devil

We saw the brand in 1991. I hadn't realised it was a short lived brand, just never thought of it since, really until Sfariah D mentioned the duck things and triggered the memory. Think the last time I was in the US was 1995. Wow. Hadn't realised it was so long ago. We dropped into Canada in 2009, so got fairly close... and then missed.

I was at Buckley SFB yesterday and after picking up a prescription, I hit the commissary. And right across from the veggie chips my flatmate loves were the Vrootman cookies. About four flavors and boy, was I tempted. I do like those cookies and so does Thom. But I am determined to loose that weight and he said he didn't want a treat. So they were safe.

@Sfariah_D good luck on your procedure. I hope you get the news that all is clear and you are good to go. I did.

It is a pain to have to get those checks but my dad had colon cancer, (along with my mom and brother dying from lung/brain cancer) and so it is part of my routine now. My dad beat the cancer. I recommend cancer screening. The earlier it is caught, the better chances to beat it.

Depends on how badly you want the ducky, or how long you're willing to wait for it to go on sale. =P Though a lot of times folk aready have things and have just forgotten about them, in which case it's free!

I can't recall which one I used because I renamed it, but I played around with geometry assignment and shaders and gave one of my girls an entire rainbow of ducks. :)

My dates came from the short Smithsonian article; they didn't say exactly when they went out, but it could've been into the early 90's. Pretty sure they were gone by 1996 when I was hanging out at the Queer Student Center at my university's campus. Given the demographic, I feel like if they were still around I would've heard of them.

Non-complaint:  Breakfast with symphony buddy went well.yes  Big plate of "Biscuit & Gravy", coffee, & English Muffin w/peanut butter.  A stop at the grocery store for a few fruits, veggies, & drinks.  A stop at roadside veggie stand for two ears of sweet corn (had 'em for lunch & dinner) Mmmm... fresh sweet corn.  Also picked up a half pint of red raspberries.  Mmm... raspberries.  A good day.smiley

Complaint:  But the roof still isn't shingled.no

Non-complaint:  Both I and symphony buddy had recently received postal mail from the Buffalo Philharmonic about next season's performances.  Neither of us saw any performance that interested us.  However, symphony buddy said that the orchestra in Erie, Pennsylvania (about 60 miles west) will have a performance of the Rachmaninoff 2nd Symphony, and the only Beethoven Violin Concerto on Oct. 25th .  Both are masterpieces.  Also on the program is the Brahms Nänie, but I'm not familiar with that piece, and I'm not really a fan of choral pieces, but symphony buddy is, and it's Brahms and short, so it couldn't be too terrible.devil  I think we agreed to go.  Wheee...yes

Yeah, yeah, I know I've gushed about the Rachmaninoff 2nd Symphony multiple times here, but it's just beautiful all the way through.  And especially the 3rd movement (at 29:30) is an amazing emotional journey.heart

Not familiar with that one (though my knowledge of classical music is not great) and I'm in the mood for a little transcendent beauty in my listening space today... do you have a favorite YouTube video rendition, or shall I go hunting?

Oh! Sorry, brain didn't even register the links (or if it did, didn't parse that they went to videos). Favorite is indeed a subjective thing, but I'll go for "generally well done." :)

Thank you. I'll check them out while I'm cataloging some assets from this week's haul. :)

I'm at a cinema.  My ride forgot about me.  Another ride should be on the way.  I would have been home earlier I guess if I wasn't afraid of bothering dispatch to see where my ride is.

There is a rubber ducky claw machine at this cinema.  I could not play as it required cash to be converted to tokens or something like that?

I am back home.  Not sure how long I have been home.  I have been chilling under my ceiling fan in my room.  I got a tad too overheated while waiting for a ride home from the cinema.  Finally saw Fantastic 4 which is good, but the complaint was how long it took for me to get home.  I might need to get something to eat.  I also want to put pjs on soon.

There is something on tonight on NBC.  There is some event in Philly tonight starting at 8:15 pm I think.  Some cowboys are coming into Philly to say howdy for some reason.

non-complaint: Walk was lovely and chill, and when we got back, Little Dude was in the mood to self-entertain and just wanted to be in the same room without interference. Daz time for Mama! I played dollhouse and put my newly acquired potted herbs in the spot that's been waiting for them for ages. It was the last thing I was missing for the kitbash of that apartment (well, until I need to do a render that includes the fridge, anyway, and then I'll be playing around with fridge magnets again) and I'm quite pleased to no longer have that missing piece hanging over my head. Bonus: I got to use some shaders I'd picked up a while ago thinking "oh hey not sure when I'll use these, but they're cheap and surely something will come up..."

complaint: The Homeowner Association emailed me that I'm supposed to shut off the exterior water today. The heck? It's always been late October to mid November before... next week is going to be warm enough for the kids to want the sprinkler, for cripe's sake! The temps aren't even getting below 40 at night. The pipes aren't going to freeze. At least this year they're not trying to get everyone to schedule with a contractor to come into our homes and shut it off for us like they suddenly decided was necessary for the last three years. I'd tell them I'd do it myself, and they'd warn me that if I did it wrong and they burst I'd be liable for the damages. Um... dude. You turn the lever, and then you open the spigots outside to drain it. I've been doing it for more than a decade with no problems. Back off.

I hate my HOA so much.
