the code to do this was "hand tweaked" each time i needed a hem or strap
i didn't do all the work needed to make it ( safely ) usable by someone else.
the script starts by mapping each edge of the mesh connected to each vertex
then you 'point' to a starting vertex, say at the bottom of a skirt,
and you "point out" the direction you want to "walk"
then a null node walks from vertex to vertex along the straightest possible route along the edges
then one can use mcjPathTube or mcjTransport or mcjRibbons to extrude a tube-mesh along the path of the null node
i will probably deliver that promise someday , but by todo list is loaded :)
the hems of the "finnkini bottom" were done with the help of the "walkers"
