Rendering issue

Watchng my Task Manager I can see that when rendering a image that all the work seems to be by the CPU not the GPU.  I have a RTX3060 and most current driver.  I have the GPU render settings checked in the hardware settings in DAZ.

What's going on that my GPU isn't doing any work?

You ran out of VRAM. Check your DS log... you may be able to find the relevant message.

Could you please clarify which specific items in the Task Manager you are using to determine that the GPU is not being utilized?

It's important to note that during Iray rendering, even when the GPU is heavily in use, the general GPU utilization percentage displayed in the Task Manager might not show a significant increase.

To accurately monitor GPU usage during Iray rendering within the Task Manager, you should check the CUDA utilization.

In some environments, the CUDA section might not be visible by default in the Task Manager, and you may need to adjust settings to display it.

Alternatively, you could also use other tools like GPU-Z to check GPU usage.

However, if you have already checked the CUDA utilization in the Task Manager and confirmed that the GPU is indeed not being used, then please disregard my advice.

Yes, better use GPU-Z that we always recommend, which can clearly and precisly show you VRAM Used and GPU Load.

Besides, even if without any monitoring, if you open DS log, search by "to CPU"... if you can locate a line of message saying sth. like "fall back to CPU" or similar wording, that means you're running out of VRAM.
