Type of NVIDIA driver recommended?
I know there are two types of drivers for video cards that NVIDIA offers, a gamer and one other. I keep having crashes doing renders in DS and it's getting annoying. I never had this issue in the past and when it would pop up it was very very rarely and never had it happen, as it was a glitch. If I reduce the size of my output to something smaller it will finish but anything rendered 1000X1000 or over seems get a crash. I need to make some promo renders and those usually need to be 1600X1600 and I can't make that happen right now. My drivers are up to date but yea, maybe I chose the wrong one to install, don't know, can't remember if that fixes issues like this or not?
Please advise! Thank you

I'm going to go ahead and install the Public Beta, which I HATE doing but in order to see what's going on I need to I guess.
I use the Creative drivers or whatever it's called; Studio is stable for me and I also play games (currently The First Descendant and Star Wars: Outlaws) with no issues on a 4090 (and there better not be any issues with that monster of a card).
Yesterday, I updated my Nvidia driver to v572.60 WHQL Studio Driver. For the past few weeks I had 3 or 4 occassions where my computer USB keyboard and bluetooth mouse would not respond and I had to HARD restart my PC. This would happen when I had left my computer to idle for an hour. Atleast on two of those occassions DAZ Studio was running. However it was not rendering at the time.
I have always used the Studio Drivers since they were first avaialble for consumer and this kind of issue has never occured. I don't know if it is due to an Nvidia driver or a Windows 11 update. Also, I stopped using DS Betas and stuck to Publice Release.
I realize it is not the problem you described, but maybe there is some information that is useful to you.
RTX 4080 Super - https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/drivers/results/
Also if you have the patience and time maybe do a RAM check on your PC just on the unlikely possibility your RAM (DDR) has developed a flaw. This did happen to me on an old PC many years ago.
Beta crashed as well so must be the drivers.
Thank you Jake, I have run system checks and my memory modules are all ok. I'll see if the Studio drivers are needed to get this resolved. I THINK I installed the Gamer drivers. I just can't remember. LOL
Essentially Studio drivers are, inbtheory, older Game ready drivers that have stood the test of time and don't have bleeding edge features just added to support some new game. It is usually a good diea to use a version fairly close to the minimum required version, though currently that would mean a driver with a fairly serious security issue. That said, I did update past the minimum (in major part because of the security issue) and am not having issues with 566.03
I did notice a newer driver available, I did install the Studio driver as that is recommended via the YouTube video down in it's comments area. I'll see if that works out better, if not I'll uninstall and try the Gamer install and see if that works out.
So I watched the video.
Although not necessary, when I install an Nvidia driver, I use the custom/adavnced option and checked the box for perform a clean install. Also, I make sure all my monitors are turned on for the update.
Richard's point is good. If you don't need the latest driver use an earlier driver. Since I am spending more time in Blender I have found latest Studio Driver gives me reliable performance.

I use the gaming drivers, and I've never had a problem.
Took a shower, came out, render finished with no DS crash so that was a nice surprise. Not sure if I'm actually on my way to being back to normal with my work flow but at least I got this one promo (artistic, not a spotlight) done! It was an old old promo that was really pretty bad and so used allot of Fabi's props and updated the lights. It's a bit busy but if this can get rendered with all this stuff in the scene then a promo featuring a blank background and just the character (Gino) should be easy peasy! I HOPE! lol
Well I thought I was in the clear but today I tried rendering out a 1600X1600 promo with more of a full scene. I could almost tell things were going to go sideways and they did. I was in the kitchen making coffee and stuck my head around the corner to see and yup BSOD. SO I did a clean install of the drivers and chose the gaming version this time. I'll give it another go. If this doesn't work I'm seriously considering plunking down the doe to get a new machine. Seems every two years I need to do this to keep up with the times. *sigh*
If you have a generation RTX 20xx series card or better and atleast 32GB RAM, then I really don't think hardware is the issue. Especially at the small sizes you are rendering.
Does this happen even with a completely fresh scene? Can you post your render log for DAZ Studio?
Also did you try a really old version of the Nviida driver after performing a clean install?
I have an NVIDIA RTX 4060 Ti graphics card. System has 32 Gigs of DDR5 RAM, Generally a healthy system. Seems DAZ keeps up with NVIDIA's spec updates more than respecting their user base limitations. In todays world upgrading ones computer every time DAZ wants to up the antey .... this hobby is getting to be more than it's worth.
Here is the log file....
take a look at this: https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/452581/dzcloudtasknotifier-cpp-errors
I don't have that error in my DS log.

I wonder if being connected to a render server could be involved? BTW i have RTX 4060TI 16GB running on a i7 4790K with 32GB RAM and i run stuff on it all the time with the latest Nvidia Studio driver on scenes at 4K with no crash/freeze. In fact that computer has been more stable than my AMD Ryzen 7 3700X 8-Core Processor 3.60 GHz with 64.0 GB RAM and a Nvidia 4080 Super. BUT i have not used a render server.

Adding and removing multiple versions of drivers leaves [detritus] in the registry and elsewhere. When you say "clean install" do you mean the installer's "Clean Install" or do you go the extra mile and use Nvidia's separate "Remove all Old Driver [junk]" downloadable executable to vaporize all memory of old nvidea drivers before installing a virgin driver?
Yeah, yeah, I know it's not called "Remove all Old Driver [junk]" but it does exist and is named something similarly appropriate. Check the Nvidea website. The removal app has helped me a couple times.
Uninstall nVIDIA drivers with 3dGURU Uninstaller: https://www.guru3d.com/download/display-driver-uninstaller-download/
do it in safe mode as the instructions indicate. It'll remove all the nVIDIA files left over from all the uninstalls/reinstalls you've done
I've been using it for years and it's great
Hmmm, I don't use a render server ever. I do all my renders on my own machine. So if this is an issue how do I disable this in my DS? That's really weird.
I use NVIDIAS "clean install" option. This has never been an issue in the past. I'm still curious about the cloud render server mentioned in my log file.
I see a CMS tab in my preferences. There is a STOP button but not sure. Should that be enabled or am I looking in the wrong area to diable any cloudfare render access?
That is the Content Management Service, the PostgreSQL databse used to populate Smart Content and the Presets tabs as well as for various other things. It is not directly related to rendering.
OK, I'll leave that alone. Do you know why my log file is mentioning cloud rendering? Is there a way to turn that off? I looked all over the DS menus Richard.
I found this under Render Settings. This must be it but don't know what to do to turn it off.
This is my settings
They are the same but again why is my log file showing that there seems to be some attempt to connect to the iRAY server to render perhaps in the cloud? Never had that before. This BSOD was happening with not only the current beta I'm using now but in the general release as well so it's not something I can blame the beta on.
Is it happening with a certain scene or any scene? If a certain scene, then tell my the list of items in your scene. if I have them I will recreate it and see if I can recreate your crash. I am using latest Nvidia Studio drivers and latest DS on both computers. Also both computers are connected to the internet.
I had another crash, no BSOD so that's good but I've saved the crash info and will submit the zip to the tech monkeys to see if they can figure it out.
I couldn't tell you all the products in the scene, it's not an overly complicated scene, there are two tall vases with spider plants on the tops of them on either side of a cushy chair that Genesis 8 male is sitting on and he's fully clothed. There is one spot, on distace and another spot as a rim light. That's really it. I remove the back plate to simplify the scene, maybe that's a reason I didn't have a BSOD, not sure.
I got a render at 1000X1000 seen below but the 1600X1600 is a recommended size for doing promo's which is what I'm trying to do. BUT at that size it crashes. Sure I can upscale the 1000X1000 but it does loose some details. Photoshop can fix some of it with their AI but sometimes it doesn't look right so I'd rather be able to accomplish my 1600X1600 from within DS.
