I went to join Second LIfe and it says my user name is taken.  WTF?  Does that mean I am already part of Second LIfe?  if so Why was I?

edit: apparently so, but why do I have to read the TOS again?

That's good news - rhinos could become as ubiquitous in Australia as camels . . . yes

How much work would it be to make a random texture generator to work inside studio to create brand new textures randomly?

...well in store for possibly the hottest day of the year so far.  Already 95º here in the 'hood but again the "official" temperature always has to be taken at the airport which is on the Columbia River away from where most people in the city live. They need an "official" weather station in the middle of town as well.

At least in Milwaukee they had two stations the main airport near the lakefront and another smaller airport on the northwest side of town.  When I lived there, we'd get a split temperature forecast and report like 90º inland (KMWC)/72º by the lake (KMKE).

...OK wonder what MicroSquish is up to.

Normally once every mid month on teh closest Tuesday, they do what many call "Patch Tuesday" when they post a collection of updates for WIn 7 through 10 users.  Well, last night when I got home there was a popup message on the screen that said "updates are ready to install" on the workstation and when I clicked on it to check there were something like fourteen new updates (as well as old WIn 10 "nag" one again which shouldn't have even shown up as I have a utility to screen all Win 10 updates out).

So has Patch Tuesday suddenly become Patch Thursday?

How does Daz DIM sum work?

How does Daz DIM sum work?

Well, each zip has a checksum, and DIM uses it to find out whether there's an update.  Then it dips it in soy sauce.

..."officially" only hit 89º but again that was not in the city proper. In my 'hood the high was 99.7º (OK round it up to an even 100º)

...OK need ot go visit my doctor next week.

Was crossing a busy street today and as usual, I took account of the vehicles approaching before stepping out.  One of then was a motorcycle which I thought was ahead of a car that turned but apparently was behind it. as when I stepped out into the crosswalk (was pressured by a right turning SUV) he came to a stop within inches of me.  I profusely apologised that I did not see him (I had thought he already went by as from what I saw, he was ahead of the car that turned instead of behind it). Needless to say it gave both of us a fright.
