Blech, my leg is bothering me.. cast is pinching something, glad it comes off tomorrow. Think I'll go home and stretch out, I've handled all my phone calls for the day and I'm running out of hings to write.. go home, drink beer, do a few shots, and ry to relax.

Getting low on beer, as well.. omg.. still have beer delivery money, this would be a good opportunity to get home and make an orde!  Maybe more dip as well, the Greek yogurt/cucumber dip I got last time was tasty and went really well with beer! laugh

Maybe I'll charge the old tablet and see if I can make it work, before I throw the little #$%#%$ out.. Windows updater nearly bricked it last time, but this model is 3 years old and the manufacturer doesn't really support it any longer, plus I got it refurbished from Newegg for $60!  Certainly got my money's worth out of it.

Been waning to work in VFX for years.. known a few travelling VFX/video editor types in my life and it will pay the bills if I can get a steady stream of jobs.

This will mean an investment in hardware and software, along with time, and I'll be learning and cranking out portfolio projects while I continue to contract out as a programmer, write, and compose music. surprise

I want to be out of programming, forever, in 5 years.  That is my plan. devil

...I hear Houdini is a PITA to learn.

Houdini is a nightmareish mix of programming and art, you need to be a bit of an engineer to understand its procedural process but if you can get past that, it's insanely powerful.  Houdini artists ae hard to find, bt if ou want the best fluid dynamics/particle systems on the planet, you need Houdini.

It runs great on my quad-core i7 with the NVidia GTX850, glad I coughd up for the 4GB of VRAM... indecision

...kind of sounds like Blender in a way.  Think I'll stick to struggling with Hexagon's instabilities along with Daz and Carrara instead.

After a couple of days, I can say that our approach is the least likely to cause our head to explode!!! surprise

Everything is done through operators, you stack 'em up and build things with them.  Figuring out what things to use where is a pain, thankfully there are 8 million tutorials from SifeFx and third parties, all that helps.

I think that's not the case anymore, it's just personal preference.  Apple stock is falling, too.  I think the joyride is over for them.  Latest iPones not selling like they thought, too.

My Tshirt I ordered did not come in but my fish order came in.  I got the wrong size filter.  My fish feeder needs batteries that I do not have.  at least the power strip I got seems to be fine but I have not opened it yet.

I always wanted to be a tram driver, you always know where you're going and when you get there you just drive right back :)

If my eyes were perfect and my foot worked, I'd go to truck driving school and do long haul cross-country truck driving!  Since I have no kids, no wife, no girlfriend, and no significan other it would be the perfect fit.  Modern semis have Internet, integrated smartphones, and a sleeping cab that's better than some flophouse hotels I've stayed in!!

Alas, I have to play he hand I'm dealt... indecision

...yep they're hiring all right. I keep getting several referrals a day from each of my job search sites and I don't have a licence.

Seems like it's hard to find footloose and fancy free folks who wouldn't mind not having a permanent place to live.  It'd be perfect for me!  Le sigh..

...would be good for me were it not for my bad joints & bones.  Driving truck really takes a toll on one's body and many drivers end up with spinal issues.

Also, my poor depth perception would turn trying to manoeuvre a 53' trailer around in a city into an absolute demo derby.

Complaint:  After a long dirty, salty winter I finally paid $8.00 at the carwash and I had a sparkling clean car for about 4 hours then it rained then the birds used it for poop target practice. crying

Non-complaint:  I visited the hospital's financial help office this morning and showed them my bill and my insurance claim summary and my long face.  I came in with several folders of information and the lady behind the window said "oh oh, someone with folders..."  But she was very nice and after looking over my information and checking with other minions and even the head minion, she came back and said "You can ignore this bill for now.". surprise  Apparently they (all the minions in the cage) think that the charges weren't submitted properly or were not handled properly by the insurance company so they're resubmitting it and I "should get a reply in 30 days".  (I'm not holding my breath).  But in the meantime I can ignore the bill.  Yea! smiley

I have a friend who drives long hauls (not cross country, but up to Vermont, Maine, almost Canada).  He says the new cabs are like luxury cars, comfy and with all the toys.  So I think it would be the tiring part of long hauls that would most bother a driver.  But yeah, the depth perception issue would not be good.

Good news about the medical bills.

As for the bird poop...I've had a long standing theory about that.  When the car is dirty and dull, I don't see much bird poop.  But when it's clean and shiny, it seems to get a considerable amount.  Not like that picture that TJohn posted (Yikes!), but still.  I've come to the conclusion that the shiny car, from their prespective up on the wires or in a tree, during the high mid-day sun, is reflecting the sunlight too much and blinding them and they can't see worms and insects.  So the crap on it to dull it down!   laugh

I once went to an all male motorcycle/leather club "convention" in the woods with several 10-person cabin/dorms.  At night around the food pavilion/bar the beer flows heavily and a good time is had by all.  Early one morning I was up walking about the road between the dorms and some poor sod was asleep in his cot in the middle of the road. surprise  It seems his dorm mates couldn't stand his snoring and moved him out during the night.devil
