I'm sure everything you need is in the standard version of the Sony editor I know a lot of people who use it, mostly you want to turn thumbnails off if there are more than a few seconds of them rendering that slows the software down :)

Morning. There must be a hideous noise competition going on this week, todays contestant sounds like buzz saws bouncing on a thousand trampolines, I guess you would pay a lot of money for an oscillator that sounded like that :)

..maybe the Karamazov Brothers are in town.

The Karamatovs travel with buzz saws? Think I saw a punk band once called one thousand trampolines, or maybe is the heat....

    ..well, they did juggle chainsaws.

Wednesday as far as I can tell but it might be one of those days where clocks seemz to go backwards :)

...that happens a lot with our streetcar tracker boards in the stop shelters. You look up and it says "Arriving In 4 Minutes", then when you look at it again it says something like arriving in 7 or 8 minutes.

Who can answer this?  Does V7 require anything other than Genesis 3 Female?  I can't seem to find an answer on the product page and curiousity is starting to hurt.

Victoria 7 is a DAZ base figure, so G3F is all you need to use her.

Ah, just like airport arrival/departure boards in Buffalo when I was waiting for my Stepmother accompanying my father's body to arrive in Buffalo.  Arrival time would come and go time after time then be set back again and again.  The first and only time I ever got into an argument with the airline representative and watched her lose her cool. surprise  I wish I'd had a camera. devil

Oh, that's too bad!  Is it the one you were installing all that stuff on?  That wasn't new, was it?

Oh! surprise  It was living on borrowed time. sad

Computers only have two moving parts.  Disks and fans.  The death of either can be fatal.

I personally would consider trying to revive a six year old machine for less than $50 expense, but would put it in a retirement home to live out it's days playing solitare.  But then again I have a room full of spare parts and tools and shelves of software and documents and electronic meters.  Your mileage may vary. wink

My PC is six years old and although I have been considering upgrading for a couple of years it is still working (bar a disc swap, and a voluntary GPU upgrade). It's only just becoming possible to get a system that would run twice as fast for a reasonable price. The onward march of technology has become a gentle stroll.

Yeah, sometimes you get one that just keeps on ticking.  I've had computers well over 10 years old that still worked when I turned them on.  But by that age the world had pretty much passed them by.  I remember when I finally had to put down my first win95 laptop a couple of years ago.  It was like losing a favorite but retarded dog.  However, my rule of thumb is 5 years.  Then after that you make sure you have backups and you check their fans often, and you don't trust them with heavy loads anymore and give them lots of rest.

Speaking about the world having passed one by, that's sort of the way I feel.  I surfed the big waves for 25 or 30 years but now I'm floundering in the whitewater on paddle boards.

...yeah my old notebook is nine years and four months old.  Replaced original HDD that died six years ago after it died and the keyboard is flaky (most likely burned out from all the heat caused by rendering) so I now have a wireless external one.  Otherwise it boots up and runs fine.

The workstation is about four years old now and in serious need of a memory upgrade as I am seeing it go into virtual memory a lot during rendering. Also could at least use a GTX 740 (4GB) so I can use the Iray view mode to work with HDRIs. My current GPU is only 1 GB so it dumps to CPU/memory, which slows everything down and after a while the programme will crash to the desktop.

I really need that Megabucks win, Someone won the big 7.8$ million jackpot last week but I'd have no problem with accepting the current 1.4$ million one.

...I have that and a number of Howie's other sets. Purchased them for scenes that take place on the grounds of the Grande Estate in my story, but had issues porting the characters in as Carrara doesn't recognise some of the morph and skin resoruce kits which I used.

I know I've ported Daz setups and "scene subsets" to Carrara before (ver 6.1) with no toruble.  For some reason, 8.5 Pro seems not to like it.
