Daz Connect

I really do not want to use it, I do not like using Smart Content...

With new products, do I have to use it or can I still install manually or via DIM?

The new freebie has no download file other than the templates.

    Encrypted-only products (like the new freebie) require use of Daz Connect. If you don't want to use Daz Connect, don't get Encrypted-only products.

    Well , that is that simple?

    So people have to miss out on products that they would have loved to buy * spending money in the Store can only be a good thing for Daz3d  and the Vendors right ? *  simply because they do not want to have Daz Connect pushed on them.

    Would I be able to find the encrypted product also in my Daz Content or in the Smart Content tab only?

    I feel you, I plan to stay away from any encrypted products as a matter of principle, no matter how badly I think I might "need" them.

    Yes, I shall stay clear of it.

    I just hope that they do not change ALL products to that format.

    Products installed via Connect (and encrypted products are only installable via Connect) do not appear in Content Library folder structures. They have no user-facing folders. Smart Content is certainly the best way to access them, but they do, however, appear in Content Library under the "Products" section (and in "Categories", although that is less useful). See screenshot if you are not sure where I mean.

    You can create a folder structure for the product shortcuts in Content Library and drag icons from Smart Content to these folders. This will simulate a DIM or manual install, but of course it is extra work.
